PoliticsRe: The Foolishness Of Niger Delta Avengers And Stupidity Of Chevron by pcicero(m): 5:52pm On May 06, 2016
Nice submissions op.

I don't understand how sabotaging the nation will add any benefit to anyone's cause.

Before we heap all the blames on the government, let us remember the effects of destroying such vital national assets on electricity generation and government revenue.

I agree with superstar on the need for a sincere SNC.
The concept of nationhood is still alien to Nigerians with the way we react to national issues.

Irrespective of our religious or political leanings, the idea of the nation first is non existent in our clime.

I am not a supporter of the president, but I'm glad the budget has been passed because it will relieve the economy.

I was always thinking that some rants on NL are just infantile/comical and do not necessarily represent their real intentions.
But now I know better. Some people have morbid hatred towards whatever is not their own. It's so sad.

May God help Nigeria.

Don't be too certain. It's cocacolahellenic- cchellenic

Hellenic is the parent company of Nigeria. It became the trading name after it bought the controlling shares from Nigerians. You can confirm that Coca Cola is no longer named NBC- Nigerian Bottling Company on the NSE index.

It is as real as today's date.

PoliticsI Conveyed Guns To Lagos APC Campaign Venues – Cultist by pcicero(op): 8:57am On Apr 22, 2016
Olaleye Aluko

A self-confessed cultist, Muhideen Ibrahim, who was arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, has said he conveyed guns to the All Progressives Congress campaign venues during the 2015 electioneering on the Lagos Island.

Ibrahim, 29, from Kwara State, added that he took two pump-action rifles to the governorship primaries held at the Tafawa Balewa Square in the Onikan area for the “protection of my gang’s candidate”.

However, the state APC denied knowing him, adding that Ibrahim could be a mad man. The party advised the police to bring him to justice.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the Denton Police Division arrested Ibrahim on Tuesday from a hideout in the Ijora Badia area.

It was gathered that a locally-made pistol and two expended cartridges were recovered from him.

Our correspondent learnt that Ibrahim, aka Oginni, had been on the police’s watch list since last year for his alleged involvement in the murder and violence on the Lagos Island.

It was learnt that another suspected cultist – Sodiq Kolade – had earlier been arrested by the police for alleged possession of guns.

He was said to have denied the allegation, but confessed that he knew those who had guns.

Kolade was said to have led the police to Ibrahim’s hideout where he was arrested.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Ibrahim, who confessed that he joined the Eiye Confraternity in 2007, said the guns his gang took to campaign venues were not for violence, but for protection of their governorship candidate.

He said, “I live in the Ijora Badia area, and I am known as Oginni. One of the boys in the area, Sodiq (Kolade) was the one who brought policemen to my house. I had a friend called Dagbe, and he lived with me in Ijora.

“He and I belonged to the same gang. During the last general elections in the Onike, Yaba area, we had guns. Anytime there was campaign on the island, they would contact me and other members of my group. We belonged to the APC. In the governorship primaries, we had our candidate.

“Dagbe had two pump-action guns. I conveyed guns to campaign venues three times. It was not for violence. It was just to protect ourselves and our candidate. I was paid N5,000 for each trip.

“I joined the Eiye Confraternity in 2007. The person who initiated me has travelled. He is now in Malaysia. His name is Sammy. So, we used the guns to only protect our candidate. I still belong to the party. I work at the council level to collect tolls from okada and Keke Napep riders in Ijora.”

On the other hand, Kolade, who lived on Kano Street, Oyingbo, told our correspondent that he led policemen to Ibrahim’s hideout when the policemen insisted that he (Kolade) had guns.

He said, “I know Oginni because he used to move with my elder brothers. When the police arrested me, they insisted that I had guns. I told them I did not have guns, but I could take them to someone who had guns. So, I took them to Oginni’s place. I belong to Dagbe and Soko’s boys.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the command would not relent in ridding the state of criminals.

He said, “He is one of the leaders of a notorious cult in Ebute-Meta. He and six others were nabbed by the police. Some are still on the run, but they will be arrested too.”

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, however, said the suspect’s mental state should be examined, adding that the party did not breed hoodlums.

He said, “We do not know this hoodlum. We do not know what he is talking about. We do not know whether he is a mad man. You also do not know his mental state. Let the suspect face the law. We are not part of this. Our party is not made up of hoodlums.

“Did he show you his APC membership card? He has to produce a proof of membership. Please, ignore that man.”

HealthRe: I Am Only 24 And I Am Diagnosed Of Impotency, Why Is Life So Unfair? by pcicero(m): 11:22am On Apr 11, 2016
It takes a whole lot of courage for someone to come out here and tell his story the way the Op did.

As usual, some kids complained that it was too long and asked that they summarize for them.
Everything on Nairaland is now a joke to them. I wish the mods will start doing something about them.

I followed the thread from page 1 and was moved by the outpouring of emotions from forumites. I can say that in spite of our challenges, Nigerians are still good.

I waited to join in bashing BiafranNigerian but refrained because a part of me felt that he truly wanted to assist.

I will bookmark this thread because I'm certain that many will benefit from it as I have.

I want to thank BiafranNigerian especially for his antidotes to body acidity. I will definitely try it too.

PoliticsRe: Kano State Press Release On Ese Abduction by pcicero(m): 10:17pm On Mar 01, 2016
My questions are as follow:

1. If the Emir and Kano state government have directed that Ese be returned to her parents, why was there no follow-up to ensure the directive was strictly adhered to?

2. If the Emir could remove a ruler in the emirate for a reason as reported in the news recently, what step did he take to punish Yinusa and his village head over this matter?

3. Who has kept Ese since August till now?

4. Where was she kept?

5. Why were the parents turned back when they visited Kano to see the Emir and some thugs even threatened to kill them?

6.Why didn't the Emir invite the parents when the matter was handed to the police to ensure they take immediate custody of their child knowing she is a minor and the agony they must have gone through?

Let us learn to reason with our heads and not hearts.

I agree with some of Op submissions but I don't agree that she didn't make much effort.

Remember she hawked bread, she didn't resign to fate in a far-flung town in Osun.

Her struggles paid off and that's the sweetness of the story for me.

But the gist is becoming tiring already and with those indolent banks out doing themselves to be associated with her, I think I have had enough.

Many thanks Bro,

Good to see there is some awareness, I really hope the populace do not buy into these rhetorics. Cooljade should stay the course with the campaign, with all well meaning Nigerians following suit, at least until we are convinced by their actions, because words alone should not be a basis for toning down the campaign.

Have a great evening bro and stay blessed.
I admire your tenacity bro.
Science/TechnologyRe: Ajaokuta Steel: Time To Break The Deadly Conspiracy Surrounding by pcicero(m): 6:37pm On Feb 01, 2016
Can we walk the talk and start a petition to Fayemi?

The issue with Nigeria is still that square pegs are still put in round holes. Fayemi is an intelligent mind no doubt, but I really doubt his competence in that ministry.

Meaning well is not enough to make things work. In fact, that cliche "he means well" has become tiring to me.

We demand performance. This government should give priorities to the economy and stop grandstanding.

While I want looters prosecuted I believe that should not take all the attention of Buhari. Though I will advise that he institutes rules to mitigate such mindless pillaging of our commonwealth as experienced under GEJ.

I'm yet to be convinced that anything has changed in this country. Was it not last week that it was reported that APC stalwarts besieged Aso Rock to solicit funding for the party?
Thank God the president didn't yield like Jonah would. But for how long would he continue to ward off such mindless requests?

PoliticsRe: Chibok Girls: "President Buhari Was Angry And Cold" - Enough Is Enough Nigeria by pcicero(m): 8:45pm On Jan 14, 2016
Adminisher:
This is an idiotic post. You destroyed everything good in it by mentioning GEJ. The BBOG ran into an angry General. The man was pissed off with two institutions today; the Press and the Senate . It did not concern the BBOG who also did their own annoying thing; demonstrate throughout Abuja and then paid an unexpected, impromptu visit to the President. The source of Buhari's anger was the noise about stealing if submitted budget.

The two sides have a lot to learn. Buhari has to remember that being President is the most annoying office on earth and yet you have to be contained. Even ghetto hood you are found earns you negative rewards from your people at yikes. The BBOG should be more circumspect in behaviour and stop playing your the gallery
I don't agree sir.
BBOG played to the same gallery when Jonah was president and the whole world urged them on.

Or are you suggesting that it was a charade to push Jonah out of power?

It was the same mistake Jonah made when he started considering EiE, SNG and other interests that fought for his ascension as distractions.
We all know how it ended for him.

Though I agree he still has a lot to learn. And for starters, this is 2016 and not 1984.

@ Seun and mods: these must stop.

I'm not against any individual being held accountable for whatever infractions.

But, the rate at which some senseless bloggers and attention-seeking dolts post trash and promote such to the front page is becoming worrisome.

This same video attached by the Op has been circulating on Nairaland under different threads i.e. Diezani's stepson celebrating his gf's birthday, Okonjo Iweala's son birthday amongst other mendacious spinoffs.

Now, reasons such as these are why some oafs in the National Assembly are attempting to censor the social media.

You have worked very hard to get here, don't allow this forum to become another worthless blog site promoting junks for commercial purpose.

I admire your tenacity and forthrightness and it might interest you to know that Nairaland is my only source of news feeds aside Facebook. I don't need to emphasize that I could count how many things I've visited the other blog site acclaimed to have made billions during the elections.
