I was even expecting a worse punishment such as a home stadium ban for 1-2 matches. The fine is not too high (thankfully).

However, is the behind-closed-doors order only applicable to WC qualifiers or to the next SE competitive match?

I think I saw one stat the other day that said Azpi has never made a mistake leading to a conceded goal.

Looks like he finally got one today.

Although if you think about it; As poor as we may have been, most of the goals we have conceded this season has literally been gifts from us
Absolutely
Without those gifts, we could have been challenging for the title or mathematically secured third place

PoliticsFormer APC State Chairmen Urge Party To Adopt Emefiele As Presidential Candidate by PDPGuy(op): 1:44am On May 01, 2022
The founding state chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called on the leadership of the ruling party to adopt the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, as its 2023 presidential candidate.

This was contained in a statement issued by the party’s former guards through one of them, Musa Abu, in Kaduna on Saturday.

As the former chairmen argued, the ongoing politicking and wranglings among presidential candidates jostling for the party’s ticket were unhealthy for the growth of the party.

They said, “We have keenly observed all the electioneering that has been going on in our great party ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.

“We have seen how bigwigs and moneybags in their tens have been jostling for the only ticket available in our party. We are of the opinion that this unwieldy number of aspirants is not good enough for our party and its future.”

According to the statement, they urged the party’s leadership to give Emefiele the support to raise the APC’s presidential flag if the party was serious about winning the 2023 presidential election.

They also urged the APC leadership to be quick in making the choice of Emefiele in the party’s interest.

“In searching for a way out in a manner that will be rancour-free and ensure electoral victory for us in 2023, we have come to the conclusion that our party should draft the CBN Governor into the race and give him all the institutional support to lead APC to the 2023 contest.

“It is very clear that Emefiele’s candidacy is the best for our party because it will, among other things, not only lead us to victory, his emergence as the next President will also see his administration continuing, consolidating and expanding the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Our leaders must make this important choice quickly in the interest of the party, our nation and, indeed, all its citizens,” they stated.

Although Emefiele has not openly declared an interest in the election, he is being linked to the APC top candidature.

The CBN governor’s campaign posters were prominently displayed at the Eagle Square in Abuja, venue of the national convention of the APC, on March 26.

Besides the presence of his posters and banners at the convention, inscriptions on the campaign materials suggested that the CBN governor was a member of the APC.

Concerns have been raised over the independence of the CBN when the head of the institution is being strongly linked to the country’s ruling party.

Section 9 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act stipulated that ‘the governor and the deputy governors shall devote the whole of their time to the service of the bank, and while holding office, shall not engage in any full or part-time employment or vocation, whether remunerated or not.’

If both Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu emerge as the presidential candidates of the PDP and APC respectively, who would you choose in next year’s presidential election?

“Like” for Peter Obi, “share” for Tinubu

Because Africa has been allocated 9 slots for the 2026 World Cup, it will be ok for CAF to have a single qualification round comprising all 54 teams divided into 9 groups.
The 9 group winners would then qualify for the World Cup.

Alternatively, CAF can design a three-round qualification stage, with the lowest ranked African teams taking part in a playoff preliminary round. Then the winners join the higher ranked teams in 48-team tournament, where the 48 teams would be divided into 12 groups.
The group winners in this stage would then advance to a final group stage comprising three groups of 4 teams. Here, the top 3 teams in each group would qualify for the World Cup.

THINK PIECE

I think Osimhen would be better off going to Arsenal than Man U, Arsenal is already set up waiting for a striker as the final piece of the puzzle while Man U may still be in a shambolic state despite their appointment of a new manager, one thing I'm sure of is Arsenal will finish above Man U next season
My thoughts too, plus he will likely play UCL footie next season in Arsenal

Politics2023: Ken Nnamani Declares For President by PDPGuy(op): 8:00pm On Apr 29, 2022
Former President of the Senate, Ken Nnamani, has formally joined the 2023 presidential race on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

Mr Nnamani, while declaring on Friday in Abuja, lamented the high cost of the party’s nomination form.

APC recently fixed the cost of its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at N100 million, governorship N50 million, Senate N20 million and House of Representatives N10 million.

He said costs do not align with “our social-economic realities in terms of comparative per capita income and purchasing power of Nigerians.”

The former Senate President said there was a need for a rethink on the issue in a bid to improve the inclusion of youth, women and most Nigerians who earn salaries in an economy that has become depressed.

Mr Nnamani also said there was a need for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide guidelines on cost of nomination form.

“Maybe it is time the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) laid down guidelines to the parties on both the cost of nominations and campaign expenses. I will back such regulatory control that will improve the fiscal responsibility and inclusive politics in Nigeria,” he said.

Despite the outrage against the exorbitant nomination fees, the ruling party continues to defend it.

So how were they operating before? Does he understand that
Nigeria Defense Hq = Pentagon and
Minster of Defence (Nigeria) = US Defence Secretary

or are we missing something here?
Presently, the 3 branches of the Armed forces have their separate HQ buildings in Abuja, and the civilian workers are largely based at the Ministry of Defense building.
But what the perm sec is saying is that he wants ALL branch headquarters to be under one roof, and for the civilian workers to be under the same roof as well, like the Pentagon in the US.
