The “Atiku State of Mind“ Support Group has withdrawn its support for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential aspirant and endorsed the presidential aspirant of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr Kingsley Moghalu.
Mr Hassan Ankuma, former National Coordinator of the group, disclosed this on Friday in Abuja at a news conference held to endorse the ADC aspirant.
Ankuma said that the group made mistakes in the past by campaigning for candidates of the two major political parties in the country.
He said the group was not willing to repeat the same mistake ahead of the 2023 elections.
`The mistake in the past was that we were always looking to support candidates of the two major political parties as though they alone existed.
“The reliance on these popular political parties is why we have consistently voted for the wrong leaders because we can only vote for the flag bearers of these platforms even when we knew they were mediocre.
“As usual, we have begun the journey to 2023, but as Nigeria gets worse every day, one comes to the realization that there is a lot to fear for about the immediate future.
“This led us to take a deep breath, take a step back and reexamine more thoroughly the choices before us because 2023 is a make-or-break season for Nigeria.
“And today, we have gathered coordinators from Rivers to Borno and from Sokoto to Nnewi to begin a new journey that is inspired by new information and realisation.
“My team and I are transitioning from the vibrant pro-Atiku support group known as “Atiku State of Mind“ and will now be known as “Moghalu State of Mind“.
“We want a state of mind that is healthy for Nigerians, one that can guarantee the electoral promises being made.
“We don’t want a president that is there by a false sense of entitlement,” he said.
He called for support from Nigerians to rally and campaign for the ADC and appealed to the party to give its presidential ticket to Moghalu for the sake of equity and fairness to the southeastern part of the country.
Mr Kingsley Moghalu, the ADC presidential aspirant in his response to the endorsement, promised to run a multidimensional and diversified economy if elected in 2023.

AHEAD of the 2023 Presidential election, the eldest son of late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, acclaimed winner of the June 12 presidential election, Kola Abiola has declared to contest for the most exalted position in the country under the platform of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP.
According to him yesterday at the PRP National Secretariat, Kola Abiola said “Today makes my formal inroad after 27 years back into politics, just as he said that the only party that could give the youth such opportunity to make their number count was the PRP.
“I particularly picked to come back into politics through the PRP for some good reasons.
“I have gone back to the history of Nigeria to look at the party that truly represents Nigeria. I have gone back and I have found out that the oldest living party is the PRP, it still holds those ideals of what Nigeria and democratic practice should be like.
It is a party that was started by the people and truly for the people. It is a party that has shown first, as its priority, internal democracy.
“I have come back to PRP to show Nigerians that not too long ago, we did things in the right way and the new entities that have come together nowadays forget that there was Nigeria that did things right.“
Air Peace is now the first ever Nigerian airline to launch TWO or more long haul international routes from Abuja
Parading a fleet of 33 aircraft, Air Peace is the Nigerian airline with the most aircraft at any time in the history of Nigerian civil aviation. The defunct Nigeria Airways never had more than 28 aircraft at any time.
Air Peace has expanded its network from Abuja, commencing flights from the Nigerian capital to both Dubai and Johannesburg. Flights will operate from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV) once per week to Dubai (DXB), and twice per week to Johannesburg (JNB).
The weekly service to Dubai departs Abuja on Fridays at 19.25, arriving in Dubai at 05.25 (+1). The return flight leaves Dubai at 8.50 am on Saturdays, arriving in Abuja at 14.40.
Air Peace will face some stiff competition on this route. Emirates currently operates four weekly flights from Dubai to the Nigerian capital, however, this will increase to five weekly from May 1st, and then to daily from September 1st. Emirates is also growing its presence in Lagos, where flights will increase from seven to 11 weekly from July 1st.
Air Peace’s twice-weekly Abuja to Johannesburg service appears on the carrier’s website as a direct, one-stop option, departing Abuja at 20:20 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, arriving in Johannesburg at 6.05 (+1). The return flight leaves Johannesburg at 9.05 am on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving back in Abuja at 16.50.
isan: Ayinde has been out for far too long , don't expect to get back 100% Ayinde u used to know she has probably lost a pace or 2 now
I wouldn’t start Ayinde at the AWCON, and would rather go with the trio of Ajibade, Ucheibe, and Otu. Then Ayinde could be introduced as a sub in either the 2nd or 3rd group games
GeneralDae: Men if you watch the highlights. That game should have ended 5-0 to Morocco . They have also scouted some foreign born quality players over the years. Yeah is the link to the highlights.
Man, this was absolute domination by Morocco from start to finish! I wouldn’t be surprised if they advance as far as the semis cos this Moroccan team are very fluid in attack
Schemerkhiz: One thing am impressed with the likes of Ifeoma Onumonu, Tony Payne, Ashleigh Plumptre and Co is that they play with their whole heart ready to risk it out unlike the Super Eagles player's who feel like star boys...
Against Canada, Onumonu was pressing high and high, doing her defensive duties too.. She has proven too well that she's playing in the best league in the World.
Randy Should just look between Kanu, Ordega and Okoronkwo to pair with Oshoala and Onumonu in a front 3...
My thoughts too!
As someone else posited, we would need some pace up front for the counter attack strategy to work. Even when the SF are dominating possession, we still need the forwards to be able to run in-behind the opposing defense with ease
Yesterday, two Nigerian female players - Faustine Aifuwa (center), and Queen Egbo (center) - were drafted to WNBA teams, Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever respectfully. Aifuwa stands at 6’5”, while Egbo is 6’3”
isan: In a tough game like this can't Regina otu and ucheibe play together ? Sitting deep and giving Ajibade more freedom to go forward
Exactly! I will also suggest pairing Ucheibe with Ayinde whenever the latter is fully fit. I believe Ajibade has taken over the AM role from Ngozi Okobi, especially with her present form.
I thank Chikwelu for her services to the national team, but it’s time for another combative midfielder to take her place!
Also, the midfielders need to be more confident on the ball; it was only Ajibade that didn’t panic whenever she was in possession.
I would also give credit to the Canadian center backs, especially Buchanan, who prevented Onumonu and Ajibade from going one on one with the Canadian keeper on some occasions
BascoVanVeli: So far so good I must say we showed massive improvement from the first match. We are actually man marking corners, wonders shall never end.
yinkeys: I don’t care about the results. Just hoping they link up play much better. Team chemistry and a good outing since it’s a friendly Are you guys awake ?
lovewins: This YouTuber has graciously promised to stream tomorrow's game. His link was posted here during the first game, will be reposting for emphasis.
Schemerkhiz: Isn't going to be difficult for the Coaches to keep out the Luxury of attacking Options like Uchenna Kanu, Fransisca Ordega, Esther Okoronkwo, Desire Oparanozie on the bench??
Depends on the opposition. If it’s a top 3-4 team and we are in a favorable position, I would certainly favor that tactic
