The NBBF need to do all they can to get Michaela Onyenwere to commit to D’Tigress, because she will be obviously a valuable forward

I agree. I don’t see the logic of starting Atonye over Okonkwo. Aside from Macaulay, Okonkwo has been our stand out player in this tournament

Hmmm, why is Amy Okonkwo always starting from the bench though? I for one think Atonye Nyingifa is really below average,. I mean she played 20:42 in the previous game. and had only 2pts. While Amy that played 16:56 had 8pts.. it has to be said that none of these ladies made a single 3 point attempt!! As for 2 pointers Nyingifa had 5 attempts making only one 1/5. Amy had 4 attempts making only a single one too 1/4..

The yeye coach also wasted a spot on Ify Ibekwe,. If you know she ain't fit to play while bring her all the way to Serbia? Is there no other player to replace her? The coach should have as well brought Ezinne Kalu!! Smh!!

Chiney Ogwumike . She should be staking her position in D'tigress with this FIBA Women's World Cup qualifiers. She was certified 'Naturalized ' as a Nigerian and therefore eligible to play for Nigeria since the Olympics last year. She won't stake her claim now o. Many players will now come out of the woodwork to play for Nigeria in Australia later this year. Hmn.

I think her inclusion, as a naturalized player, would deny some of the other players, who are also naturalized, a place on the team.

BTW, Sunday’s game v Mali tips off at 12pm Nigerian time.

For the Sunday game vs Mali, the Malian’s will most likely try to gain most of their points in the paint, or through drives to earn free-throws.

Their 3-pt FG shooting % (18%) is too poor. So, I wouldn’t expect D’Tigress to be guarding the 3-point shooters as much as they did today.

If D’Tigress beat Mali on Sunday, then they will qualify for the World Cup; rendering the China v France game irrelevant
