BascoVanVeli:
Ohale is not old na. She is definitely first choice

I agree. And she got pace too

JohnBullMySon:
Really? How did you know?

I saw her flashing the Naija passport on her IG ‘stories’

AkinDS:
The flights from Europe get here in Houston from 4:00pm local time. As I write this reply its 2 pm local time.
They are not in Houston yet, unless they came in last night.

Ok. So that further buttresses my point that it will be highly unlikely for Waldrum to field both players tomorrow, even if they both flew business class.

JohnBullMySon:
Ok. Looks like this Naija passport is the problem again. Zogg and Ariyo who replaced them had no issues.

Zogg travelled to Houston with a Naija passport though

enomakos:
let watch Rita again tomorrow and see if she had lost her mojo,me think Thursday game was just a bad day for her

Fair enough

As Oshoala and Ebi only arrived Houston today, they definitely won’t feature in tomorrow’s game vs Portugal. It’s best to let them recover from jet lag and field them on Wednesday

Schemerkhiz:
Not Possible we still have Ohale till date and Ebi might play till the next World Cup but the Possible pair at the back would be
Onyinyechi Zogg 24yrs of Zurich FC Switzerland and Ashleigh Plumptre 23yrs of Leicester City, England...

Okeke should be talking of how to keep her spot at the right side...

Yea

The center back pairing could also be Plumptree/Zogg and Ohale at the next Nations and world cups. I wouldn’t risk fielding a 40 yr old center back at the World Cup against some of the fastest and skillful attackers in the world.

As we have seen with Chikwelu, who knows whether Ebi’s pace would slowed down by next year or the year after.

Schemerkhiz:
Going with Randy Waldrum picks at the Central Back.....

Onyinyechi Zogg for Osinachi Ohale
Ashleigh Plumptre for Onome Ebi

The Super Falcons version of the Oyinbo wall

isan:
Ebi can partner zogg in defense the ogbonna na time bomb

Form permitting, Zogg and Okeke should be the first choice center-back pairing from the 2023 WC onwards.

Zogg, Okoronkwo, Toni Payne, and Ariyo have just made a strong case to displace the SF regular starters, especially if they also impress on Sunday against Portugal

JohnBullMySon:
I just said bench because i didn't want to degrade the Super Eagles. I can keep Moses Simon, Musa and Onyekuru on the bench for her oh

The Okoronkwo lady was a real livewire in the second half as her touches and runs troubled the Jamaican defense. But for some poor decision-making on the part of Ajibade, the team may have grabbed an equalizer

FT: Jamaica 1-0 Nigeria

drDoom3:
If not for Oluehi, we would have been at least 4 goals down this first half. Embarassing to say the least.

Very true

BascoVanVeli:
Horrible penalty.

Yes, in truth that was one of the worst penalties I’ve watched anyone take. Maybe it was the 93F heat that made her screw the attempt

Halftime
Nigeria 0-0 Jamaica

The Jamaicans bossed the midfield for the majority of that half, and made Oluehi to make 3 saves

Oluehi did well in saving that Jamaican penalty!

JohnBullMySon:
Where are you streaming it from?

Possession
Nigeria 20%-80% Jamaica

Tonight is a massive opportunity for Ariyo to stake a claim for the top striker role, following the absences of the likes of Oshoala and Oparanozie

Starting line up

The Nigeria v Jamaica match will also be live-streamed on ussoccer.com] as from 10:38pm today

Schemerkhiz:
Osinachi Ohale out also....

With some of our star players not available for this week’s tournament, I fear the SF may be victims of a rout by the world champions.

If not for that offside call, Okoye would have registered another howler…

For real though, I don’t think Gernot Rohr is the right man for this team at all. The lads have largely been uncoordinated in their approach to this game.

It’s now crystal clear that the SE, under Rohr, that the individual brilliance of the players + the average to poor form of the likes of Algeria and Cameroon at the 2018 WC qualifiers were the factors that helped the SE to score so many goals against those teams.

I’m having doubts as to whether the SF games next week will be televised on the NFF channel. I tuned in to their YouTube channel, hoping to watch the Super eagles game vs Cameroon, but I was disappointed cos they didn’t carry it live

BlueMann:
So 4-4-2?

Yup

Here’s the SE lineup for today’s game v Cameroon

Ibime:
SodO9 in the mud.

Nigga busy celebrating David Luiz shirt while we are celebrating trophies

Only fly Spirit if you’re trying to become a spirit yourself

Very apt
