Nigeria and South Africa made history at the African Championships in Cairo, Egypt, which served as a Tokyo 2020 qualifier. Nigeria earned their first ever Olympic gymnastics qualification, while South Africa will be represented by two female gymnasts at the Olympic Games for the first time in history.

Nigeria’s Uche Eke became the first gymnast, male or female, from his country to qualify to the Olympics. American-born Eke, who competed for the University of Michigan, placed third in the all-around behind Mohamed and Ziad Khater (Egypt). The placement earned him the second Olympic qualification available to African gymnasts at this event. Despite placing second, Khater was ineligible for the second quota due to the one per country allowance.

Zeina Ibrahim from Egypt and Naveen Daries of South Africa earned the two available qualifying spots for the women. Posting 50.20, Ibrahim won the all-around, ahead of her teammate Farah Hussein, while the South African Daries was third. Daries will be joining her teammate, Caitlin Rooskrantz, at the Tokyo Games. Rooskrantz earned her qualification through the 2019 World championships. It would be the first time South African women’s gymnastics has qualified two gymnasts to the Olympic Games, and the first time since 2004 that South African female gymnasts will be featured at the Olympics.

Raumdeuter don abandon the fraud o. He can't come and kill himself.

If not for Werner, the match was supposed to have ended before 20th minute. Fraudiola with leaky defence, when matched, is like bread and butter.

ShadowCracker:
Fausitino Anjorin was also immense in cheering the team off the pitch.

From what I am seeing, Rudiger made the squad and Thiago Silva didnt?

I have a suggestion, i think you should just name this thread.. Nigerian basketball thread and remove the Tokyo 2020 tag. The reason for this is, after Tokyo 2020,what happens... I think if you remove the Tokyo 2020,we could just amke it a permanent thread that can run for years, the thread would be for anything basketball without having a time frame.

its 7;58 in portugal yet see as sky still bright lol. for naija here we don enter darkness by 7pm

enomakos:
thanks, but I think we should be in the top 10

JorgedeToledo:
They did very well. But why didn't the coach make use of Amy Okonkwo in the second half.
Also, Aisha Mohammed, Sarah Ogoke and Nicole Enaboyi didn't play if I observed rightly.
The coach made use of 8 players throughout the game, and we still won.
Lastly, is Victoria Macauley injured?

enomakos:
what is the currently ranking of D'tigress?

Danielnino00:
I knew the Serbs has home court advantage the last time they beat us .. They weren't better ..

JorgedeToledo:
How about Erica Ogwumike, why isn't she in the team?

Danielnino00:
Please can u help with a streaming link??

Can't seem to access the game via the link you shared yesterday

carbonado:
.. I think flat out the only thing that oir team is lacking is great 3 point shooters.. Sarah Ogoke used to be that, however, i think her form dropped, if we have 2 gpod shooters on the squad with tjis quickm

carbonado:
..... Okay, thank you, anyone that has a link to where to watch the game should drop it here...
