The House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment hearing is now in session! |
RIP to the man Legally speaking, I fail to see how she would escape a death sentence. According to the report, she grabbed a knife after she noticed he was asleep, and proceeded to stab him. That shows she killed him with intent and premeditation. |

A potential setback... [b]Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, may not open soon as expected despite resolving safety concerns that led to its shut down by the Federal Government. This is so because a fresh crisis over ownership of adjoining land at the airport is threatening its reopening. There is a land contest between a private estate developer, Arch. J.J Emejulu and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which, according to the airport authorities, may jeopardise moves to reactivate the airport. The land dispute is based on series of unconnected court cases in which Arch. J.J Emejulu is seeking to exercise ownership right over spaces of land in the vicinity of the airport. A source at the airport also stated that conflict between the Nigeria Police and the Nigerian Air Force attached to FAAN over land ownership is also there. The source stated that the airport might be permanently closed down if there is encroachment into the reserved space. According to an FAAN official at Enugu, the contested land is located at the takeoff end of the airport, and would breach safety headroom for planned extension of the runway. In response to enquiries on the encroachment, the Chairman of House Committee on Aviation, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, declared that nobody would stand in the way to reopening the airport as scheduled, warning those fighting for land to stop sabotaging the interest of the Southeast zone. A construction firm, PW Limited, has been deployed to reconfigure and reconstruct the runway to accommodate wide body aircraft including the Boeing 787 and dreamliner series. National Aviation Management Agency (NAMA) has also announced commencement of work on airfield lighting and safety systems as well as on modernization of the terminal building and new reopening deadline was fixed for April 2020. IGBOSON1:The minister promised to install airfield lighting. So, when the airport is reopened it will be able to accommodate night flights |
Assuming the Akanu Ibiam airport is opened in April 2020, it would be a dream to see the likes of Emirates and KLM flying to Enugu. The reason I suspect, why they declined the Aviation ministry's invitation to add Enugu to their route network is due to the frankly below average facilities at the airport. Those airlines have certain standards which can't be compromised. Moreover, it should be economically viable for Air Peace to serve Dubai, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, Atlanta, and London; from Enugu. The aircraft of choice could be the A350-900 and/or B787-9. The Atlanta and London services may be three weekly flights during the European summer and Christmas periods; with reduced services during off peak periods. |
Freshprince91:I just checked and Ben Foster will be turning 37 next year! I guess CFC has to make do with Kepa for the foreseeable future till another decent u-25 goalie is discovered |
Next Summer, Chelsea has to look in the direction of Ben Foster as the starting goalie. Kepa can deputize for him. |
Lufthansa is facing a $6.428 million civil penalty from the US Federal Aviation Administration for conducting almost 900 flights that were “not in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.” The FAA alleges that Lufthansa operated flights into and out of San Diego International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport without the FAA authorization required to do so. Foreign airlines can only conduct scheduled flights into and out of airports that are listed in their FAA-issued Operations Specifications, and the FAA alleges that neither airport was in Lufthansa’s Operations Specifications. This relates to the following flights: Between March 22, 2018, and May 27, 2019, Lufthansa operated approximately 600 flights with A340-300s between Frankfurt and San Diego. Between October 28, 2018, and April 10, 2019, Lufthansa operated approximately 292 flights with A330-300 and 747-400 aircraft between Frankfurt and Philadelphia Lufthansa has 30 days to respond to the FAA. https://onemileatatime.com/lufthansa-illegal-flights/ |

OruExpress:I was responding to this particular line of your comment.. "The US is openly hostile to black people and uses every situation possible to maintain or gain control over others. That is their stock and trade" Again, if the US is so against Black people to the extent of accusing the CEO of the largest airline in West Africa of money laundering and bank fraud, then why hasn't the same U.S. come after Ethiopian Airlines CEO? After all, his airline flies to a couple of U.S. destinations, and is the most profitable in Africa. |
OruExpress:But what about Ethiopian Airlines that also buys Boeing planes and flies to FIVE U.S. cities? Why haven't the Americans frustrated them out of business or indicted their CEO for money laundering? |
Timbuktuo:I applaud his invention |
He surely needs an American-licensed lawyer or lawyers in the case. Due to the nature of the charges against him, he would have to shell out no less than $500,000 in legal fees cos he would need very good and experienced federal criminal defense attorneys |
jjman2322:That's the other shit Onyema is facing. There is a 99.9% probability that Buhari will gladly extradite him to the US. His only option now, aside from entering a plea deal/fighting the charges in trial, is to move to a country that has no extradition treaty with the United States. Simple. |
jjman2322:The only people/entities that beat a DOJ indictment, from my memory, are the late Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and Enron. In both cases the federal appeals court and the US Supreme Court quashed their convictions from the lower Federal District courts |
jjman2322:Succinctly said. But Air Peace could be in legal jeopardy if the EFCC proves that criminal proceeds form part of its cash reserves |
Absolutely shocking! |
Allen Ifechukwu Athan Onyema, the Chairman, CEO, and founder of Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, has been charged with bank fraud and money laundering for moving more than $20 million from Nigeria through United States bank accounts in a scheme involving false documents based on the purchase of airplanes, the United States Department of Justice announced Friday. Air Peace is Nigeria’s largest and fastest growing airline. The statement by the Northern District of Georgia DOJ said Air Peace’s Chief of Administration and Finance, Ejiroghene Eghagha, has also been charged with bank fraud and committing aggravated identity theft in connection with the scheme. “Onyema allegedly leveraged his status as a prominent business leader and airline executive while using falsified documents to commit fraud,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak. “We will diligently protect the integrity our banking system from being corrupted by criminals, even when they disguise themselves in a cloak of international business.” Robert J. Murphy, the Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Field Division commented on the indictment, “Allen Onyema’s status as a wealthy businessman turned out to be a fraud. He corrupted the U.S. banking system, but his trail of deceit and trickery came to a skidding halt. DEA would like to thank the many law enforcement partners and the subsequent prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office who aided in making this investigation a success.” “This case is a prime example of why IRS-CI seeks to partner and leverage its expertise in an effort to thwart those seeking to exploit our nation’s financial system,” said Thomas J. Holloman, IRS-Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Office. “With the importance of our banking system to the movement of money around the world, those attempting to use intricate schemes to commit bank fraud through the use of falsified documents and other means should know that the odds are now heavily stacked against them as law enforcement is combining its talents to protect the sanctity and integrity of the nation’s financial system.” “Onyema setup various innocent sounding multi-million dollar asset purchases which were nothing more than alleged fronts for his scam,” said acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Hammer, who oversees HSI operations in Georgia and Alabama. “I’m proud to be part of a team of law enforcement agencies that come together to identify and attack criminals that attempt to profit from the exploitation of our nation’s financial systems.” According to U.S. Attorney Pak, the indictment, and other information presented in court: Onyema, a Nigerian citizen and businessman, is the founder and Chairman of several organizations that purport to promote peace across Nigeria, including the Foundation for Ethnic Harmony, International Center for Non-Violence and Peace Development, and All-Time Peace Media Communications Limited. https://thewillnigeria.com/news/breaking-air-peace-ceo-onyema-indicted-for-fraud-money-launding-by-us-department-of-justice/ |
