For us to see this generation of Super Falcons make waves at the Olympics, Dennerby’s ultra conservative tactics need to go. The likes of Oshoala, Kanu, Ordega Etc thrive on confidently taking on opposition defenders, and not bunkering to the opposing fullbacks |
Congrats, Mr Airmark ![]() |
TheShopKeeper:Sickening |
Neimar:They decided to skip the World Cup in order to keep themselves fresh for the NBA season |

Update: Tom Steyer, the billionaire Democratic donor, has qualified for the October 15 and 16 debates. He hasn’t met the DNC polling and donor thresholds. There will now be at least 11 candidates for the October debates. |
Former South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford, has entered the Republican presidential ”race”... |
kris:He hasn’t played for the U.S. senior team at a FIBA tournament. So, he is still eligible to play for Nigeria. |
Fun facts: D’Tigers have now qualified for 3 successive Olympic tournaments. The most, yet, in the team’s history. D’Tigers won more than 2 matches at a FIBA World Cup for the first time ever |
Now, we are waiting for D’Tigress to also qualify for the Olympics. They will have to play in a 6-team African pre-qualifying tournament from Nov 14-17. Then, if they finish among the top two (which is almost guaranteed) the team will advance to one of the four World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. At the WOQT, they will need to finish in the top three in order to qualify for the Olympics. Phew! What a complicated qualifying path for D’Tigress |
Yes!!! D’Tigers are through to the Olympics!! |
Nigeria leading 86-73. 47 secs left |
China 73-82 Nigeria. 57 secs left |
Okogie is a baller!!! |
Only two minutes left... |
FT: Tunisia 86-84 Angola. Tunisia end their tournament with 8 points, and a PD of -9 |
Today is game day! |
obixcel:I will agree that if Trump’s approval rating, among Republicans, drops to 65-70%, then that could be a signal that the Republican wants to consider other options to Trump. In that scenario, those state chapters of the Republican Party could rescind their decision to cancel their nominating contests. |
Nigeria's Ayomide Bello has become the first female canoeist from the African country to qualify for the Olympics. Bello, who is 17, won the C1 200 event at Africa's Tokyo 2020 qualifiers in Morocco. The teenager also won gold in the C2 women's final with partner Goodness Foloki at the event in Rabat. Nigeria's only previous Olympic canoeist is Warrington-born Jonathan Akinyemi, 30, who competed at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games. Bello competed at the Youth Olympics in Argentina in 2018. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/canoeing/49610009

If D’Tigers beat China on Sunday, they would become the second team to have ‘realistically’ qualified for the Olympics. Australia were the first team to qualify for the Olympics. |
I take back what I said earlier. The China match will be the last game at the word cup for D’Tigers. After the game, they will simply be given a rank based on their overall points/PD |
Canceling primaries/caucuses is totally democratic, regardless of which party is doing it. In a fair and just system, the incumbent president shouldn’t be afraid of a primary challenge, and the national party shouldn’t be a mere appendage of the sitting president.

The Nigeria v. China game tips off at 1pm, Nigerian time, on Sunday. |
Injera:Correct. If we lose to China, and Angola beats Tunisia, all three teams will finish on 7 points. Then, Nigeria’s superior points difference should see us clinch the Olympic ticket. However, if D’Tigers beat China, and Tunisia beats Angola, Nigeria will also most likely clinch the automatic Olympic ticket due to a superior points difference. |
somehow:Unfortunately, the Filipinos lost to Tunisia |
Fun fact: The win over Ivory Coast was the 6th ever D’Tigers victory at the FIBA World Cup. Previously, the team had won two games, each, at the 1998, and 2006 world cups. |

KNIGHTBlaed:Not quite. If we beat China, we get to play one of the other group winners in the next classification round |
KNIGHTBlaed:Yes. Per the FIBA rules, if Oladipo had obtained a Nigerian passport by age 16, he will still be eligible to play for Nigeria. The ball is now in the NBBF’s court to convince him to switch to the best African team. |
KNIGHTBlaed:The defense greatly improved in that quarter, forcing the Ivorians to make more difficult 2-point attempts. |
3rd quarter underway |
Angola are presently leading Iran 29-26 in the 2nd quarter |
