LAFC - from Los Angeles - will take the final spot in this month’s FIFA Club World Cup.
They just defeated Mexican side, Club America 2-1, in the CWC playoff, which means that they will join Chelsea, Flamengo (Brazil), and Esperance (Tunisia) in Group D |

BREAKING: ICE officials have been reportedly ordered to supercharge arrests to over 3,000 per day, according to Axios.
If this is true, then it’s a flipping disgrace. There is a reason why general law enforcement quotas on arrests, or, say, issuing speeding tickets are a bad idea |

cococandy: It’s profound ignorance that will make anyone think republicans are somehow anti big Pharma. When the greed they support and champion is the reason why big Pharma can colonize the market and price people out of life saving medications. But greed is good only when it suits the argument at hand.🙄
Let’s have more free third places so families have a place to be outside of work and school. Politicians in the pockets of real estate giants will never allow that. Because every piece of land has to be milked for profit until it crumbles. As we’re speaking he’s giving the go ahead for big oil to drill in our national parks/forests. These are outdoor spaces owned by Americans. Reserved for conservation of the environment and for us to have beautiful outdoors to be. But greed has to win.
They complain about preservatives in the food but shill for big companies who trademark seeds so that you can’t replant or share said seeds without breaking trademark laws. This whole new anti vaccine trend is so they prop up the supplement companies. Who un-coincidentally are way worse than pharmaceutical companies because they all lack regulations.
They say they want one thing and they support politicians who want the exact opposite of what they say they want. I’ve not met a more astonishing group of people who don’t even know what they’re talking about. Nothing more to add. You’ve said it all 💯💯 |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Will Not Spend A Dime To Establish A National Carrier - Keyamo by PDPGuy: 12:32am On May 27, 2025 |
I completely agree with Keyamo on this! It’s wasteful for any federal government to spend money to set up and/or run an airline. Even the likes of Emirates and Etihad, which are technically government-owned corporations, are privately run, with the government having no say in their operations.
I can support an initiative by the current Nigerian airlines to form a holding company that would birth a national carrier, where all the domestic airlines would hold equal equity, and other institutional and private individuals hold the remaining equity. This new national airline would only operate international routes, while the local airlines, under their individual identities, would then ply the local routes. I believe such an arrangement would be more profitable for the domestic airline industry, than having Air Peace, Ibom Air et al all wanting to go international without adequate financial resources to truly compete with even Ethiopian Airlines. |

descarado: Here are some of the many alarming health revelations uncovered in the report:
1. Nearly half of American children now have a chronic illness.
That includes asthma, ADHD, diabetes, obesity, autoimmune diseases, and more. In places like West Virginia, over half of all children on Medicaid or CHIP are dealing with at least one of these issues.
2. Autism rates have exploded—from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 31.
In parts of New Jersey, the rate is as high as 1 in 19 boys. The trend is accelerating, and for the first time, someone in government is publicly asking: why?
3. Childhood cancer is up more than 40% since the 1970s.
We’ve spent trillions on healthcare, but more kids are getting sick—and no one seems interested in investigating the causes.
3. Ultra-processed food now accounts for 70% of the calories kids eat.
That includes school lunches filled with lab-made, shelf-stable junk. It’s fueling an epidemic of obesity, diabetes, and early metabolic dysfunction.
4. Teen antidepressant use is up 1,400%.
Suicide is now the second leading cause of death for teenagers. Instead of fixing the root causes, we’re medicating the symptoms.
6. Toxic chemicals are showing up in breast milk, baby food, and even umbilical cord blood.
From hormone disruptors to known carcinogens, babies are being exposed before they’re even born.
7. ADHD medications rose 250% in just a decade—antipsychotics are up 800%.
But there’s no improvement in learning or behavior outcomes. The report calls it a “medical overreaction to a societal crisis.”
8. Food stamp programs are contributing to childhood obesity.
States like Nebraska and Indiana are banning soda and junk food from SNAP purchases—and others are following their lead.
9. Teens now spend nine hours a day on screens.
That, combined with chronic sleep deprivation, is driving up anxiety, depression, and developmental delays.
10. Our health agencies have been compromised.
The FDA, CDC, and NIH all take money from the industries they’re supposed to regulate. The MAHA report calls it a “systemic failure.”

Wetin dey happen.
Is there any atom of truth in this cause it looks scary. Big pharma (and Big Agriculture) have truly captured America. I mean there’s no other way to slice or dice it when nearly HALF of of the children in a country are suffering from a chronic disease.🤯 |

“Nigeria will not spend ‘dime’ to establish a national carrier—Keyamo The minister said the government is open to receiving proposals from private or public entities within and outside the country for such purposes.
Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has affirmed that the federal government will not be reinvesting in the contentious national carrier, Nigeria Air, which was suspended shortly after its launch by the previous administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister disclosed this in a statement shared on his X page (formerly Twitter) on Sunday in response to an article published by the Vanguard newspaper.
The article detailed the address Mr Keyamo delivered in Lagos on Friday during the launch of a book titled “100 Years of Civil Aviation in Nigeria: History, Issues and Prospects,” authored by Wole Shadare.
He explained that rather than investing in the national carrier, the government is open to receiving proposals from private or public entities within and outside the country for such purposes.” —- I completely agree with Keyamo on this! diggz: They should also look into bringing back Tomori, Aina, or even Livramento. If we can get either Aina or Livramento, we should send Gusto the other way. We can’t keep handing out better prospects to other clubs and end up stuck with players like Gusto and co. I even forgot to mention Lewis Hall sef Yea, of the the 3 players you initially mentioned, I would much rather go with Aina. He will provide the much needed competition and would be a true decent option to Reece James |

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Marc Guehi.. I think he will be a good addition to solidify our CB area.
But Boehly must bring a striker for next season! It’s a shame that “backwater” clubs like Napoli and Galatasaray can pay a certain striker, who is in his PRIME, €12 million net/season, top clubs from the supposedly wealthiest league are basically asking him to cut his wage demands by half! |
