International trade has nothing to do with the U.S. being $36 trillion in debt. Running a $2+ trillion deficit every year because of “entitlement” and defense spending are the main reasons that the country is in this situation… |

IjeBos: This conversation is depressing. Reminds me of the convos I have with Raumdeuter The US has an education problem.
It’s a shell game that is being played by the administration. Eliminate (in theory) federal income taxes, but replace with tariffs to give an illusion of a “tax cut”; meanwhile the effective federal tax still remains the same |

IjeBos: There is one method where he can run as VP with a "placeholder" as President. Once the ticket wins, the placeholder would resign and Trump would ascend to President. But that same “method” stipulates that a person who is ineligible to be president cannot serve as VP. So even if Vance steps down, Trump will still be barred from ascending to the presidency. |

You see this? Clowns like this guy are already preparing "constitutional legitimacy" for Trump, at least from the point of view of the electorate. 'Because he believes he was robbed in the 2020 election'
And so it begins. America as you know it is over. You now see why unbridled sycophancy is terrible! Popular presidents like Clinton, Obama and Reagan never mused about a 3rd term, even though they would have handily won the additional term, because they (and others) believed that no one has a monopoly of leadership. There is a reason why term limits were introduced after the 12-yr presidency of FDR; one of them being that the U.S. shouldn’t have a cult-like presidency |

Dude wants to totally destroy everything that remains in American Democracy. Haha The methods would involve a constitutional amendment. Unfortunately for him and his supporters, Republicans do not constitute 2/3 of Congress (as they only have 53 senators, and 219 Representatives). Neither do they constitute 3/4 of the state legislatures.. |

happney65: President Donald Trump said he doesn’t care if automakers hike prices because of his tariffs. In fact, he encouraged them to.
News.
He be like say Trump is on a mission to purposely destroy America from within. 🤣 The issue with tariffs is that, in theory, they’re useful as a retaliatory tactic, and for correcting trade imbalances. However, there is no guarantee that the U.S. auto manufacturers wouldn’t raise prices in the face of restricted foreign competition |

raumdeuter: The game is about winning, coaches care about winning than playing pretty which is why some of the less efficient players like Grealish Hazard St Maximin, Adama Traore are being phased out
If you are not productive, no one will care about the entertainment you bring to the game. How will you a fan see a player who entertains with his dribbles but lose the ball in dangerous areas leading to a goal conceded and eventual elimination?
Players are now taught to dispossess, move the ball with speed and passes then take your chances
You don't have to worry about this as players are in it for the money and will go to whichever team is willing to pay them. No player will leave a league that pays more to play his brand of football, South America wey dey play entertaining leave their leagues to come to Europe for the money
All dem Zola, Bergkamp, Di Matteo, Vialli, Ravanelli came to get money in the EPL because they were getting older the Serie A wasnt willing to pay them but EPL that was looking for some stars was willing to pay like the Saudi league is attracting older players now
Henry though was a flop at Juventus which is why he came to EPL to rejuvenate his career
The main Ogas in the Serie A those years like Del Piero, Zidane Batistuta, Maldini, Nesta Canavaro Thuram, Buffon Nedved did not leave Serie A in their prime except for Shevchenko Your bolded point would have rendered players like Okocha or even Kanu jobless, in Europe, assuming they only became upcoming talents in the mid 2010s lol. Yeah, as a coach, I would be angry if a player’s showboating led to frequent losses of possession and concession of goals |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by PDPGuy: 6:32am On Mar 28, 2025 |
I think it’s safe to say football has become too generic and safe, no one wants to take a risk anymore and the jeopardy has been sucked out by dictators in the dugout rather than managers that allowed players to express themselves!
Just look at Grealish and how he has fallen out of love with the game because he doesn’t play it the way we all used to love, closest thing to the good times is Forest but believe me it won’t be long until that style of football is totally lost and replaced by this statistic based shit because all the kids in the academy are being coached to death.
Eventually, you won’t have wingers, trequaristas, hard tackling CB’s, strikers etc.. you will just have players that are coached to be defensive and players that are coached to be attacking players and those players will be ‘designed’ in a way that the defensive players can play in any of the 5 defensive positions and the attackers likewise in the 5 attacking positions and maverick players like Hoddle, Maradona, Messi, Figo, Zidane, Zola, Hazard and more recently Grealish will be a thing of the past because players will be expected to be interchangeable parts in a statistical based system.
Even Palmer, who is the closest thing to a maverick right now is being made to look ineffective because the system doesn’t play to his strengths. No surprise since he has been underperforming we’ve been shit, problem is at start of the season we got results when Palmer took control of games against the tactics of Maresca but he hasn’t been able to do it lately on his own because he needs a willing accomplice to play off and Jackson was his guy that allowed him the space to play as he wished, now he doesn’t have a runner to drag defenders out of position and has to rely solely on Maresca’s stat play he’s unable to have an impact in a predictable and repetitive system.
In the next 5 years players that want to play the game the way they want to play it will be joining teams in Serie A best believe!!! The same way players like Zola, Bergkamp, Henry, Di Matteo, Vialli, Ravanelli etc all started leaving Italy at the end of the 90’s because Serie A had become a tactical bore and the Premier League was fast, free flowing, exciting football that appealed to them, where the majority of them came and thrived, the exact opposite is now beginning to happen.
Serie A isn’t quite the equivalent of 90’s Prem but it is by far the closest league in Europe to having a bit of jeopardy in it where players aren’t afraid to give the ball away or have a shot from 35 yards because they might get told off by the ‘3rd phase possessional transition’ coach who is a glorified PE teacher and has a degree in sports science and is the Matt Le Tissier of Microsoft Excel but has never played the game but stands on the touch line shouting at Foden to move a centimetre to the left so he can receive the ball and pass it backwards.
Anyway, basically in short what I’m saying is ‘the game is gone’. |

Now, I have read some comments saying that Biden ignored the SCOTUS when they ruled against his student loan forgiveness plan.
However, Biden didn't violate the SCOTUS ruling. The ruling did not say he couldn't forgive student loans. it said that the way he proposed to do so was not legal. So he thereafter used legal means to forgive some of the loans… |
