Just the same way other regions worked hand in hand to develop the sea port and the dry port in the North. They also worked hand in hand to build rail system
UCyril:
Why do most Igbo politician like complaining. Must we depend on govt even when it's very clear they don't want to develop the south east. Igbo leaders should start thinking. The 5 south east governors should come together to rebuilt Enugu international airport , work hand in hand with akwa ibom state to develop a seaport ( in fact invest in the project) and construct a railway from the seaport to Onitsha and Aba .then watch Lagos economy cripple in lest than 3months. Let's start thinking

That's a great write up. Taking people down the memory lane. Igbos are tactically limited and handicapped by the politics of this country. People are so afraid that they wish that South Easterners pass through their dinning every time they want to leave the country so that they could meticulously examine the motive for such travels. All their fears shall come to pass one day grin grin....they have spent so much time scheming on how to hold south east down and this has held the entire country down as well

Sorry if what I said made you feel bad. It's not easy to put things together and post. All I meant was that practical suggestions of businesses that one can venture into would be helpful. The amount required and locations where such business would do well etc would have been of immense help.

Is there such thing as people getting jobs in Australia through agents? A travel and tours company requested that my brother pay them 2m to help in get a job there. An initial deposit of 500k is to be made. The remaining balance to be paid when the Visa is out. Loosing 500k could mean a lot and I want to verify their claims before letting go of the sum. Please kindly confirm if there is any genuine thing of this nature.

Keep your pessimism to yourself. Did you ever think it was possible for Buhari to be president as at 2011? Nothing is impossible. Even people saying that its impossible for Tinubu to be president of Nigeria, I laugh at them because you can't sit on your own self inflicted and restricted dream to restrict another persons aspirations.

PoliticsRe: 2023: Igbo Leaders In Strong Push For Presidency by PeaceNexus(m): 4:47pm On Oct 27, 2019
Its just a matter of alliance..... In as much as Igbo presidency is not going to guarantee any serious development, Igbos can give it a serious shot.

First to clear all grey areas with their closest brothers in South South and then proceed to the North and finally to the West. You can't get all round support especially from the West but they can make a good case for it.

My favorite situation continues to be regional government...total federal government.... We are going no where in a country where next elections are being discussed even before the current elections are concluded.

How you treat a man when he wants to settle down stays in their memory for ages. My elder brother wanted to marry a lady, the lady's mum was so much against it (because she is a Jehovah witness and my brother isn't). Eventually they have settled...I hear my brother say that he won't have anything to do with the woman. For now you people have little to do to change anything because the wife knows all that you people said and did against her. She will ensure that you people are kept at a distance to secure her marriage. So let the guy be and focus on excelling in whatever you do.

horsepower101:
Fulani-Hausa elites where the first to figure this out and realize that the reason most Nigerians are still comfortable staying in Nigeria is because of Igbos are there.

The moment Igbos leave, they know that no one will want to remain with them.

They are frustrated by this fact and thats why they pAnic when Biafra issue comes up.

That’s why they and their allies hate you so much but at the same time are scared of you leaving.
PoliticsRe: How Russia Helped Nigeria Defeat Biafra During Civil War – Buhari by PeaceNexus(m): 5:29pm On Oct 26, 2019
Its not that easy because if they leave, they will witness massive development. This will make the various units in Nigeria clamour to leave as well.....certainly Yorubas will do far better than they currently do if they are to have their own country governed by themselves...so without Igbo's, this country can rarely exist in peace.

People keep writing vague and empty stuff about businesses. You haven't said anything useful yet...Write ups on entrepreneurship should be practicable not motivational talks
Nigeriahomebiz:
Hi Nairalanders.

I like to share information with people on ways they can start and run home businesses on the side. You can request for a free e-book on 20 home businesses you can start in Nigeria Today by sending me an email: nigeriahomebusiness@gmail.com

Becoming self-employed has been outlined as one of the three ways to become financially independent (able to live well on passive income or without a salary). The other two are businesses and investments.

If you are tired of searching endlessly for a job then this is for you. If you are working but wondering why working for someone else can be frustrating and exhausting I can tell you it is one of 3 things;

1. You hate your job, because it is stressful to you.
2. Your job doesn't pay enough or
3. You want something that really challenges you, not the boring repetitive tasks you do everyday on the Job.

But quitting your job may not be an option - if any of these 5 things stares you in the face and you can't beat your chest to say I have them, then they would prevent you from becoming self-employed in Nigeria and no - man no man is not one of them.

1. Hustling Spirit.
This is true for more than 90% of job seekers and even employed people. If you don't know how to start a business and source for customers you will never feel ready to start a business but that can change your financial situation.

2. One Proven Business Idea
Even if you feel you are ready to start a business, finding one business you can stick to and that will work and pay the bills can be a real challenge. You can solve this problem by Asking yourself - what can I do (very well and easily) for people that they are willing to pay me for?

3. Willingness to take Risks
Risk is synonymous with uncertainty and uncertainty means knowing less. The more you know and understand a business, the less risky it will be for you. Most businesses will fail and that is a fact of life. But businesses owned by people very knowledgeable and skilled in their affairs tend to weather the storm and remain afloat when others collapse. That means go into a business you thoroughly understand

4. Start with whatever you have
Even if you have no money, skill and ideas can makeup for the shortage. All you need are motivated and productive people willing to work with you. A little creativity can help out here.

5. Have a set goal for your future
This should be number one on this list. The goal is the intended destination in 5, 10 or 15 years time. All plans must flow from goals and all goals are only achievable when they are well thought out and given a set deadline.

To your success and Mine

The contract for Lagos Ibadan railway was awarded by OBJ in 2006, but was abandoned and never even picked up by 2 PDP administrations after OBJ, Jonathan and Yaradua until PMB sourced funds and reawarded the contract and today, it's the fastest rail construction project in Nigeria.

Abandoned for 13 years.

Wari-Itakpe was abandoned for 30 years, 16 years of OBJ, Yradua and Jonathan didn't even bother to touch it, but PMB and Amaechi came in and finished it in less than 3 years

Abandoned for 30 years.

The contract for Zik Mausoleum was award 21 years ago, 16 years of OBJ, Yradua and Jonathan didn't even bother to touch it, but PMB and Amaechi came in and finished it in less than 3 years.

2nd NB remained on the drawing board for 30 years, 16 years of OBJ, Yradua and Jonathan didn't even bother to touch it, but PMB and Amaechi came in and finished it in record time under 1 single PMB administration.

Of what importance are awarded and abandoned projects that are not serving you and not benefiting from until other people show up with a sense of duty, determination and patriotic spirit to build and complete them in record time for you to benefit from?

I don't know why you people beat chest and take pride in silliness like so so and so awarded abandoned projects as ome kind of achievement.

PoliticsRe: Development :Lagos Has Larger Annual Budget Than Rwanda But Less Developed. by PeaceNexus(m): 6:07pm On Oct 18, 2019
I doubt if you needed to quote me with this your difficulty in understanding basic things. Where are those "more" roads etc that you mentioned. Don't quote me again please
plaindealer:
His point was obvious, but you missed it.

More population means more people to spend on in terms of government statutory obligations like more schools, more hospitals, more clinics, more roads, more waterworks, more skills centers and so on.

The population determines the scale and scope of your spendings and financial needs.

Let's say you have 2 kids and I have 10 kids, it means I have to spend more on school fees, more on books, more on health care, more on everything than you wth 2 kids.

Basic common sense and public administration 101.
PoliticsRe: Development :Lagos Has Larger Annual Budget Than Rwanda But Less Developed. by PeaceNexus(m): 4:36pm On Oct 18, 2019
I don't see sense in your post either... More population of people that Lagos state government feed or pay salaries? Even at your agreed Rwandan budget, does it not beat your imagination that a country is run with such sum and here a state isn't effectively run by even a higher budget?
NGpatriot:
You are wrong and off base on so many level.

1. Rwanda budget is actually $3.17 billion.

2. The population in Rwanda is 12 million against 20 million in Lagos, meaning we spend more on everything due to population alone and everything that comes with.

I don't know why you people love to make ignorant comparisons just to run down and badmouth your own country.
