If there was, then why is there a contract in the first place? Its business and the label must have benefited from the said artistes. Mark my words, no label would enter into a contract with you with the expectation of not gaining anything.

When the contract is performed, parties are discharged and if 'loyalty' is that important, a new contract can be agreed upon. Till then, an artist is free to spread his/her wings and fly away. Its BUSINESS!
