U really don't wanna know! Believe me back then (90s) being a junior student (SS2 - JS1) was worse than been in an army barracks, our Principal(s) had to occasionally call the Army across the school gate to help restore order. Sometime in 96 an SS3 student was beaten to death by his classmates on suspicion of been a homosexual.
Wow, was almost locked up cause of a gun shot @ d new Jss1 block (den). I enjoyed sch durin ur set(1999 I guess?)

afam4eva: If this is happening in an all girls's school like FGGC, Abuloma then i wonder the kind of decadence that will be in FGC, Rumuokoro.

U don't want to know. Witnessed a lot both d fun, scaring, horrible etc esp one in my SS3 btw SS3-SS2 boys. Think nta covered that 1 cause they came for a meeting or somethg the day students decided to go gaga. I learnt how to fly bullets, outrun a 100m champion and to beat Jackie Chan in dat sch.lol

acidtalk: You guys should free the poster.

Really you people should appreciate it when people come and state their real life challenges in here. It is comments like this that make people hide under the story line of "my friend, my coworker, my neighbor and the rest". If he admitted his challenges faced being a stammerer I don't think such should be used against him in another thread.

Cripples, visually impaired, deaf, dumb, and semi reta*rted all do get someone eventually that will love them for who they are.

He might just have chatted up the girl well and she enjoyed his intelligence and sense of humor before even meeting him. Inperfection in someone doesn't mean the person will die "single now".

I thought you all should know better than this.

@Poster, that lady might probably do it to a few other guys on the first date as well. But please don't try to ask her out for the fear of not finding someone who will accept you for you speech imperfection. You probably will always suspect and accuse her even though she might be faithful to you, and this is likely the worst form of relationship.

well said

Zuby77 that your conclusion does not hold water, my parents taught me well, and just so you know, to hold my head up high, and i don't need a man to help me turn it this way or that way. Oh!!! so you want to tell me that only married men maltreat their wives? in that same Naija, you have not seen men maltreat their girlfriends that they have not even paid bride price for? Just say you don't have the money to pay and stop drawing fake conclusions here!! I will repeat it again and again, if you marry me and pay billions and think you can maltreat me because of that, i will get guys( since i cannot match up with you strength wise), they will lash you buttocks on that same matrimonial bed and i will attend to your wounds later on!...don't even think it and serve you food that you must eat by force and fire.

ZUBY77: We are learning something here. Maybe we can change the course of our future. I believe if nothing like money is paid for a woman, the domestic violence could reduce to 50% or more. I came to this conclusion because there is no way people can beat or maltreat what they dont own or pay for.
And for some of you who are bragging here that even if a hundred million was paid for them, the husbands will never own them, You people should learn to understand the society you live in. You girls are always fast to embrace western cultures like 'never touch a woman, women have equal rights, blablabla' but never wants to embrace their own marriage concept. I have seen situations where boyfriend and girlfriend have many kids and never get married.
Here in Nigeria, you girls wants traditional marriage, wedding, bride price etc, just to impress your friends without even considering the man's capabilities. Then after all that, you still want to enjoy the same rights as western women. I sense greediness here.

You didn't answer my 1st question. There are families that don't collect a DIME. Are their daughters free commodities?

Romance / What Will You Do If You Find Out Your Husband/ Boyfrd/spouse Etc Is A Rapist. by pemimi(f): 9:34pm On Mar 19, 2012
I just watched a movie and it got me thinking. What will you do if you find out that the man you love is a rapist. Before you answer please think about it. Some may say they will forgive , but if you consider it, he did nothing wrong to you ( YET, anyway) so there's no need to forgive but I believe that once a rapist always a rapist cause we all know a goat can never become a lion. A guy that can damage a life can do anything( or so I believe) and such a guy doesn't deserve love from another girl( so I believe)
Education / Re: Church Universities Are The Most Expensive In Nigeria by pemimi(f): 3:59pm On Nov 01, 2011
some people are very funny, where did you get d figures from
bowen -650k, pls show me prove cause that’s not what my kid sis is paying and i think the only course paying close to that is MED which we all know is expensive
redeemers' - 450k ha!!!!!!! am a product of that school and i can’t remember paying anything close to that (expect the fees for tours anyway)
and if they are to increase it to 450k, no wahala. how many schools in Nigeria will give 3 students an apartment( furnished living room, kitchen, toilet and bath, AC and two fans) come to think of it, where in lagos will you get such for 450k ( accommodation) per year
Sorting of lecturers- you guys are really funny. i know a lot of lecturers that will tell you A is for God B is for very smart students C smart and D average. Before you people nail them to the cross go and see the no of students with extra year, extra extra yr and the poor ones that managed to come out with 3rd class. It’s your head that will take you through school so if u don’t sit and face your books it will show on your results
Professors- my friends Rome wasn’t built in a day. Some of these schools are not even up to 10years and are still introducing new courses, they are encouraging their lecturers to further their education and also there are few professors in some departments and others that are lacking get from federal universities.

Tithes and offerings- the fact that it belongs to the church DOESNT mean that it is owned 100% by the church. Some of these schools are the sweats of some members of the church and other investors. so plzzzzzzzz get your facts rite. Daddy G.O is seen as a Visitor in the school. so abeg before you decide to point fingers at any man of God make show you catch them with their pants down and be sure to have evidences to prove it

Plus it’s not every1 that pays school fees, if you are top in your department you get a scholarship. If your parents can’t pay your fees anymore and you have a very good result you can apply for SSS. Infact even if your parents can pay and you feel you have the right to get funds from the school all you have to do is fill the forms and when you are called to defend your action do it well and you get the extra money.
I remember screaming that I won’t go to private school especially a Christian school but I do not have any regrets and am happy with the way I turned out( especially in terms of education). We tend to forget that 50% of what we learn in the university, we don’t use in the real world. Yes the social life of these schools sucks but there are few people that don’t mind, If you can afford to go to a private school why not go, if nothing, you sha know your 4years will always be 4years

Live, as God Intended

Thursday, 20 October 2011 00:00

'His divine power has given us everything we need, ' 2 Peter 1:3 NIV

The Bible says, 'His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive, ' (2 Peter 1:3-8 NIV) Here are ten Scriptural principles to help you live, as God intended: (1) Guard your tongue. Always say less than you think and others will respect you. (2) Make promises sparingly, keep them faithfully, and people will trust you. (3) Never let an opportunity pass to say a kind word, and some day you will look back with joy and not regret. (4) Be genuinely interested in others; show it by listening attentively and expressing your appreciation. (5) Be cheerful. Don't dwell on your aches and pains; everybody has trouble. There are people in the nearest hospital who would gladly swap places with you. (6) Keep an open mind and try to get all the facts. Discuss, but don't argue. Learn to disagree without being disagreeable. Give other people the benefit of the doubt. (7) Discourage gossip; it's destructive. (cool Be sensitive to the feelings of others. If you do, people will consider you to be wise. (9) Pay no attention to ill-natured remarks about you. Live so that nobody will believe them. (10) Don't worry about getting the credit, just keep giving your best and be patient. God records and God rewards!

If You Love Them, Level with Them (3)

Friday, 14 October 2011 00:00

', each part, helps the other parts grow, ' Ephesians 4:16 NLT

A good mentor will affirm in public, and correct in private. Your goal should be to help, not hurt. When you rebuke someone in public you humiliate them, destroying their self-esteem. But when you affirm them in public you build their self-esteem, confidence and incentive. Of course, your praise should be genuine, not just empty words. By affirming sincerely and publicly, you plant the seeds of growth and greatness in the learner. A good mentor will also build an allegiance to relationships, not issues. We tend to build an allegiance either to relationships, or to issues. We become primarily concerned about other people, their feelings, and the relationship, or we become focused on rules, agendas, quotas, tasks and results. A good mentor always puts relationships ahead of issues. In his book Mentoring: The Strategy of the Master, Ron Lee Davis writes, 'My father was that kind of mentor, both in his own family and in the church he pastored for twenty-five years. Many times I heard him say, The individual is always more important than the issue.' He lived this principle daily and he built it into my life. Today, I try to pass on this principle to others.' God has called each of us to run our race and finish it successfully. He has also called us to keep the torch lit and hand it over to the next runner. Don't merely be satisfied with doing the job, make sure the job keeps getting done by teaching and training someone else. Jesus, the Master-mentor, said, ', the works that I do [you] will do also; and greater works than these will [you] do, ' (John 14:12 NKJV)

God Is Doing a Work in You

Wednesday, 05 October 2011 00:00

', grace in which we stand, and, tribulation [that] produces perseverance.' Romans 5:2-3 NKJV

There are two things you can count on as you walk with God: tribulation that works for you; and grace that enables you to stand while you're going through it. Have you been praying for patience? Get ready for tribulation; there's no other way to get it! Patience grows only in the soil of adversity. The truth is, some of the people you can't stand right now are the very ones who'll mature you spiritually and get you to your destiny. God said, 'Moab is my washbasin, ' (Psalm 60:8 NIV) The Moabites were Israel's troublesome next-door neighbours who drove them crazy. But such people can also drive us closer to God! So, who's your washbasin? Who brings out the worst in you? Who drives you to your knees? Who stretches your faith? Who develops your character? The problem is, we pray for certain things but God has a process; only as we get to know Him better do we begin to recognise it. Here's how it works: you ask God for strength and He allows you to go through struggles that develop you. You ask Him for wisdom and you get to deal with messy situations that have no easy solutions. You ask Him for success and He gives you ability to work and wisdom to produce. You ask Him for favour and you get responsibility. (Then you want to run from it.) There's a work going on in you right now! You may not be fully aware of it, but without it you'll never be qualified to handle what God has in mind.
