What an old song, America this America that, you’re sitting there and China is permeating the fabric of society. Is it that you so like Chinese food that you have failed to pay attention that there will soon be a Chinatown in your village?

Keep your eyes opened and don’t get distracted by illusions.

Ezekiel 16
The Lord's Faithless Bride

16:1 Again the word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations, 3 and say, Thus says the Lord God to Jerusalem: Your origin and your birth are of the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite. 4 And as for your birth, on the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to cleanse you, nor rubbed with salt, nor wrapped in swaddling cloths. 5 No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you out of compassion for you, but you were cast out on the open field, for you were abhorred, on the day that you were born.

6 “And when I passed by you and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ 7 I made you flourish like a plant of the field. And you grew up and became tall and arrived at full adornment. Your breasts were formed, and your hair had grown; yet you were naked and bare.

8 “When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your unclothedness; I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, and you became mine. 9 Then I bathed you with water and washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil. 10 I clothed you also with embroidered cloth and shod you with fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk. [1] 11 And I adorned you with ornaments and put bracelets on your wrists and a chain on your neck. 12 And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. 13 Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen and silk and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour and honey and oil. You grew exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty. 14 And your renown went forth among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through the splendor that I had bestowed on you, declares the Lord God.

15 “But you trusted in your beauty and played the LovePeddler [2] because of your renown and lavished your whorings [3] on any passerby; your beauty [4] became his. 16 You took some of your garments and made for yourself colorful shrines, and on them played the LovePeddler. The like has never been, nor ever shall be. [5] 17 You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and with them played the LovePeddler. 18 And you took your embroidered garments to cover them, and set my oil and my incense before them. 19 Also my bread that I gave you—I fed you with fine flour and oil and honey—you set before them for a pleasing aroma; and so it was, declares the Lord God. 20 And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter 21 that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them? 22 And in all your abominations and your whorings you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your blood.

23 “And after all your wickedness (woe, woe to you! declares the Lord God), 24 you built yourself a vaulted chamber and made yourself a lofty place in every square. 25 At the head of every street you built your lofty place and made your beauty an abomination, offering yourself [6] to any passerby and multiplying your whoring. 26 You also played the LovePeddler with the Egyptians, your lustful neighbors, multiplying your whoring, to provoke me to anger. 27 Behold, therefore, I stretched out my hand against you and diminished your allotted portion and delivered you to the greed of your enemies, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behavior. 28 You played the LovePeddler also with the Assyrians, because you were not satisfied; yes, you played the LovePeddler with them, and still you were not satisfied. 29 You multiplied your whoring also with the trading land of Chaldea, and even with this you were not satisfied.

30 “How lovesick is your heart, [7] declares the Lord God, because you did all these things, the deeds of a brazen prostitute, 31 building your vaulted chamber at the head of every street, and making your lofty place in every square. Yet you were not like a prostitute, because you scorned payment. 32 Adulterous wife, who receives strangers instead of her husband! 33 Men give gifts to all prostitutes, but you gave your gifts to all your lovers, bribing them to come to you from every side with your whorings. 34 So you were different from other women in your whorings. No one solicited you to play the LovePeddler, and you gave payment, while no payment was given to you; therefore you were different.

35 “Therefore, O prostitute, hear the word of the Lord: 36 Thus says the Lord God, Because your lust was poured out and your unclothedness uncovered in your whorings with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children that you gave to them, 37 therefore, behold, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from every side and will uncover your unclothedness to them, that they may see all your unclothedness. 38 And I will judge you as women who commit adultery and shed blood are judged, and bring upon you the blood of wrath and jealousy. 39 And I will give you into their hands, and they shall throw down your vaulted chamber and break down your lofty places. They shall strip you of your clothes and take your beautiful jewels and leave you naked and bare. 40 They shall bring up a crowd against you, and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords. 41 And they shall burn your houses and execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women. I will make you stop playing the LovePeddler, and you shall also give payment no more. 42 So will I satisfy my wrath on you, and my jealousy shall depart from you. I will be calm and will no more be angry. 43 Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have enraged me with all these things, therefore, behold, I have returned your deeds upon your head, declares the Lord God. Have you not committed lewdness in addition to all your abominations?

44 “Behold, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’ 45 You are the daughter of your mother, who loathed her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite. 46 And your elder sister is Samaria, who lived with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you, is Sodom with her daughters. 47 Not only did you walk in their ways and do according to their abominations; within a very little time you were more corrupt than they in all your ways. 48 As I live, declares the Lord God, your sister Sodom and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done. 49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. 50 They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it. 51 Samaria has not committed half your sins. You have committed more abominations than they, and have made your sisters appear righteous by all the abominations that you have committed. 52 Bear your disgrace, you also, for you have intervened on behalf of your sisters. Because of your sins in which you acted more abominably than they, they are more in the right than you. So be ashamed, you also, and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous.

53 “I will restore their fortunes, both the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters, and the fortunes of Samaria and her daughters, and I will restore your own fortunes in their midst, 54 that you may bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all that you have done, becoming a consolation to them. 55 As for your sisters, Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, and you and your daughters shall return to your former state. 56 Was not your sister Sodom a byword in your mouth in the day of your pride, 57 before your wickedness was uncovered? Now you have become an object of reproach for the daughters of Syria [8] and all those around her, and for the daughters of the Philistines, those all around who despise you. 58 You bear the penalty of your lewdness and your abominations, declares the Lord.
RomanceRe: Can You Marry A Prostitute? by pendelite(f): 12:43pm On Jan 09, 2006
To my prostitute friends out there, I never said you should not get married, I just said that everyone else should consider you as a last choice. If a man had a choice between a woman that values herself and one that does not, he should choose a woman that knows that her body and her soul can not be purchased for another’s pleasure.

On the question of if prostitutes will return to the former activities, this is based on the laws of probability. I can provide additional empirical evidence if you require it. The fact that someone devalues themselves for material gain is indicative of the possibility that if the opportunity presents itself such a person will have no reservation in profiting from it.

It is most unfortunate that poverty not opportunism is the excuse used by young men and women to engage in this act, however labels say very little for a decadent attitude amongst today’s youth. Prostitution is an act of choice, you look at yourself, value yourself and give up yourself for material gain. The option always exists for one to find another way to solve a problem such as working to pay school fees, attending classes and reading to pass exams. People of easy virtue rarely make good committed partners and that is what marriage is all about.

My prostitute friends can stand on top of the mountain and shout themselves hoarse. Unless they were sold into prostitution they made the choice and are inclined again towards that choice when the opportunity presents itself. Please note that I used the law of probability, which means that they will probably return to this vice and not that they will certainly, always return to the vice. However, it’s up to the person making the choice of marrying a former prostitute to make this determination.

Oya, I have opened a can of worms, we can eat it or kill the worms.

@nferyn , if you have data to support the concept of redeemed prostitutes I would be interested to see it.....

Unfortunately all vices once acquired remain latent. While most people will not consider marrying an active prostitute, it appears this post considers the possibility of marrying a former prostitute. My opinion is once a prostitute, always a prostitute. Given the proper incentives, the vice will re-manifest itself.

What do I mean in plain English? If you have cash and marry a prostitute and hit a bump on the road, that is when the tough times come, she will have very limited reason (rationalizing) to ride the rough waters with you.

So as you consider the possibilities for my liberal friends out there semantics are nice but life is hard road. Marriage is a commitment for life. Both parties must understand that there will be good times and bad, a person that views sex, her body and her life as leisurely as a prostitute will unfortunately not made a good wife and that what you look for when you look for a wife.

Do you believe that everyone will die?
Do you believe that there is no given time for death as there is no assurance if you will live for a day or 100 years?
Have you considered that I may die right after typing this document, will you attribute it to this? Please see if there are any posts from me later this afternoon. undecided

That is not mocking God, believers die young and so do unbelievers. My Pastor this afternoon made a joke about Jesus, is he an unbeliever? Let me share the joke for a moment and its probably those that live abroad that will get it.

It was a tale about the kings that sought Jesus after visiting with King Herod and were led to a Manger guided by a Star. He’s joke was that they were the first OnStar customers (http://www.onstar.com/us_english/jsp/index.jsp).

Here’s another point of view on the same people you quoted.

The Ballad of John and Jesus (search it)
Two new books on John Lennon claim that the ex-Beatle experienced a brief period as a born-again Christian during the 1970s. While living the life of a virtual recluse in New York's Dakota Building, Lennon became an avid viewer of American TV evangelists and, at some point during 1977, declared that he had been saved.

TANCREDO NEVES belonged to the Christian Democratic Party. Do you think he knew what Christian meant?

Hell is here. Our minds are hell. And this thing about "hell is other people" I don’t know… For me, who depend a lot on friends, on tenderness from others, I don’t see life as being against someone. It can be naive of me. This vision of heaven and hell: I don’t see hell as a bad thing and heaven as good. Heaven might be really boring and hell a fun place. Actually, the picture we have of hell is always one where we place the devil, people having sex, orgies. Hell is a carnival ball at the Monte Líbano club.

I finally defined what my role is in this big world. It’s to pass my energy on to people. It’s to learn and in each job I do, in each record I make, be able to pass on my conquests. I conquered life a year ago and I want to pass this on to others. It’s a kind of Christian thing. You know, you pass on all the love you kept and people love it.

MARILYN MONROE, died of the Demons that possessed her.

BON SCOTT could not have considered hell as an option if Heaven was not the alternative.

CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005 – You tell this joke everday about the third person driving the car.

Seriously these guys were not mocking God, deeper in them, they knew of his existence and acknowledged him. They just acted tough like most people that break the commandments each day. By the way that includes me.

PoliticsRe: OPC - Oduduwa People's Congress by pendelite(f): 11:38pm On Jan 07, 2006
Current activities of the OPC and Bakassi is what you get when you have uncontrolled power. We must check excesses, that said,

A great many of us feel more secure from criminals and the sorts because the OPC guards us each night. OPC or Bakassi is the manifestation of the inability of the police and the government to protect its citizens; unfortunately such groups are bound to fail because the process for checking excess is lacking in these structures.

The way things should work is for the police to arrest someone committing a crime and hand them over to a court that will prosecute according to the law. The problem is that the police are underpaid and disregarded and failing in this function and people become the victims of avoidable crime. Therefore the option becomes for the people to take up arms to defend themselves. No problem, but every effort must be made to avoid swift justice even as a deterrent as there is the possibility of punishing the innocent or using it as a tool for retribution.

A balance therefore is more appropriate; how do you organize civilians to protect themselves? The goal should be simple and expectations realistic, it must be subject to the law, no jungle justice. We must also take heart when we see the perceived guilty released against our belief.

The OPC and Bakassi have done a commendable job in many instances and are a necessary evil in the current state of our society where criminal gangs rule the day and we have a dysfunctional police force. Without the OPC, there are many towns that would have been abandonded today. They only hope for success is to ensure that they are not co-opted by politicians and others seeking retribution. That said, we must fix the police force and other legal structures including the courts. Corrupt policemen and judges beget a corrupt and insecure society.

Dialogue between men is the best way to resolve the world’s issues. Every man must by his own effort elevate himself to the negotiating table.

With regards to this post (Adeboye), I have only taken a position on the facts as I have seen them. He made a prediction without disclosing the actual reason for the proposed 49 days prayer (leaving him lots of latitude) and in the end the truth came to pass. What would we have liked for him to predict that there will be 49 crashes in 49 days and kill the Aviation industry, which would be irresponsible, (by the way I say this tongue in cheek). He has used this opportunity to disclose the motives for his earlier proposed prayers.

If you doubt me, let me analyze his 2006 predictions for you.

Intense prayers of committed Christians shall receive speedy replies. The lord emphasized that this is not a year for casual prayers at all. Meaning prayer will bring you special rewards this year, you know what you expect as a reward (hehehehehehe)
The generous shall have many causes to smile. What does this mean?
Sacrifices shall be rewarded in more ways than one. Which ways? etc etc. etc.
Year 2006 is the make or break year........
God is saying we are not out of the woods …….

So what has he promised, you will find out in 2007.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Adeboye Says Satan Planned 49 Plane Crashes by pendelite(f): 6:18pm On Jan 07, 2006
Here is Adeboye’s exact quote <again>

“Aviation. Some of you will remember. (This is not part of the prophecy, I am just telling you history now} Last year, I asked you to fast for 49 days, if you check the 3 crashes that occurred, they happened within 49 days. I asked you to fast and pray, some of you did, some of you didn’t. God honored those of us who prayed. The plan of the enemy was, that there was to be a crash per day for 49 days, and you prayed and God intervened.”

What he clearly said was that because of prayers 49 crashes in 49 days was averted and explained that the three that did happen, happened within 49 days.

Leave the man of God alone or leave yourself open to experience God's wrath.

PoliticsRe: President Obasanjo Wants a Third Term? by pendelite(f): 3:19pm On Jan 07, 2006
Could he be floating a trial balloon and exposing those that will do anything to subvert the future of Nigeria. Already they regulars are out marching, calling for an amendment to support a third term (you know them; they eat with you and dance on your grave). Do you think that OBJ will withdraw from this campaign and hand those that are out there to subvert the constitution. I for one think that OBJ will not accept to modify the constitution to support a third term for himself. However we will work very hard to encourage Nigerians to accept someone that will continue his good works.

Reading my previous post, one will get the impression that I think OBJ is as a failure. Here is my opportunity to state my case. OBJ has done well on several fronts and poorly on others. He has failed in the provision of foundational services like power, social and health services, social equity, minority rights and economic prosperity for Nigerians; but has succeeded in lifting the burden of debt that generations of Nigerians would have carried and dealt with corruption in his own way. It is my hope that debt reduction and managing corruption will provide the impetus for economic growth which will offer the opportunity to improve the general well being of Nigerians. On this subject it is difficult and there are many schools of thoughts on which of the issues is the horse and which is the cart. The future will tell.

The fact is that the dawn is setting on this administration; it should have prepared itself for this day. Succession is the norm, even in our individual homes, our parent prepare us for a the future without them. OBJ’s time is almost up; it will be up for his administration and one day for the individual. At the end, history will judge the man and his performance. I beg him to listen to the voice of reason; if he is outing the enemies of progress, great works; if he is pondering a sit tight attitude, it cannot work.

Your opinions…..
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo And Third Term: A Broader Perspective by pendelite(f): 3:02pm On Jan 07, 2006
I.k, a system evolves when everyone plays by the rules and work in defence of the system. We cannot change the rules in mid-game. If I accept your argument that it does no matter whether OBJ stays or goes, then we must accept the fact that whatever we find ourselves in we must accept without question.

You talk about the good and the bad of the OBJ administration and see it as balanced from your perspective, he has done a job but for a few mistakes. From my perspective, he has done a fairly decent job (see my points elsewhere). But that is not the issue, we need young men and women and a steady supply of them to bring us into the future.

He has done his bit; he has done well in some areas and others, failed. Now is the time for him to leaving in blazing glory like he did before (remember how we continue to applaud him for this action) and others will continue from where he stopped. A good leader would have groomed his successors, that’s what your parent did to you.

Please note, I think that OBJ came to the job with good intentions and has remained consistent over time, in his first foray he gave Nigerians a stake in their country. In the second he cleaned up some of the mess that was Nigeria. It is still a task in progress but the clock has run out like it will for everyone of us in our lives. We must make hay while the sun shines because when the moment comes we cannot argue with our maker. Imagine asking God for more time to finish the tasks you did not do or simply did not bother with before the end time.

It is time for OBJ to pack his belongings and go back to being a farmer or whatever future activity he has planned for himself. From the end of his term, Nigerians will write about him in the history books; some will acclaim him, others will vilify him. For the rest of humanity there will be questions about what he did or did not do. In the future, Nigerians will build Parks, Museums, and Stadiums etc. in his name or simply wipe his name from history. That is left to posterity. He needs to take this last year and consolidate his gains and his name and help us identify the person that will build on his legacy

Thank you

The problem with we’all (Nigerian’s) is the Nigerian attitude, Chop and clean mouth.

First, the person that started this topic put in their name, address and email, did anyone bother to look at the profile?
If you missed it here, (Global Fleet Oil & Gas Ltd.), owned by whom? Barrister. Jimoh Ibrahim, a young enterprising Nigerian. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/ceomagazine/2005/jan/31/ceomagazine-31-01-2005-001.htm

In the current repressive Nigeria, would you put your name if you were criticizing the government? I for one, read not just the words, but intents and motives. Did you know that even in anarchy there are beneficiaries?

The introduction was glowing, in detail we were told what the President denies (or rather refused to talk about) where the writer offers an explanation and a motive. Did she attend some private meeting and can tell us with certainty the President’s motive or is this pure speculation, therefore of no use or consequence.

This is not a BROADER PERSPECTIVE, it reads to me as testing the ground. OBJ must leave at the end of his term, he needs to encourage a process the elects a successor, not an appointment but give us the opportunity to elect someone desired by the people and expressed through a popular vote.
PoliticsRe: Who The Heck Is As Capable As Obasanjo? by pendelite(f): 3:36am On Jan 07, 2006
Do you believe everything you read? How will the USAA provide a list for Nigeria and then do what, appoint them. Let’s not get carried away by rumor mongers and trouble makers. Nigerians need to talk about who will succeed OBJ and then work towards achieving that.
PoliticsRe: Who The Heck Is As Capable As Obasanjo? by pendelite(f): 3:33am On Jan 07, 2006
Imagine for a moment that your argument was true. Would you not be ashamed to be a Nigerian?
A country of one hundred million people minimum and two hundred people on the other side of the equation and yet only one can effectively rule the country? Boy, do I fear for the day he dies a natural death, millions of sheep will be left to wonder in millions of aimless directions. Then I ask the question, even it were true, the failure of leadership is plan and to prepare for continuity.

We pushed the matter even further by suggesting that we all live in a time warp. Preserve this moment forever because it the greatest moment of our lives. You say that Nigeria needs a military leader like OBJ and democrazy has it good and bad side.

Consider for a moment that you can at least talk about the situation, you can ponder the possibility of change if you don’t like what you have; imagine if you are not able to consider that option and OBJ was not as good as you have presumed, then what?

Like a growing child, Nigeria will make mistakes and learn, the only impermissible mistakes are those that we ought to have learnt before. How good will the next guy be? I really can't tell you, but I can certainly tell you that it is better to give it a short than live in our shell for fear of tomorrow.

OBJ has done a good job by your reckoning, it is time for him to step aside and let others continue from where he left. If he was the great leader you think he is, he should have realized how much time he had to work with and prepared someone to continue his good works.

In parting third term is fourth term and 10th term, it just does not work even the best get stale and outdated, times change and people must be willing to embrace change

Now is that fair kiss
The problem is always on the computer you use to originate the transaction. How safe is it? a tip, look for what running in the task manager. (Ctrl-Alt-Del) there are trojans, keyloggers etc....... and most people use cybercafe's anyway, so the person that you used it a minute ago could have planted a bug.
So please be careful or create a special account for online transaction and if it gets fleeced, dont worry about it

ps: Prepaid, are you always everywhere?
