THE Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said the office of the Vice President under an APC will not be a "spare tyre" . A statement issued by the APC Presidential Campaign organisation signed by the media director, Alhaji Garba Shehu quoted Osinbajo as saying this at a parley with health care professionals under the auspices of the Health Care Federation of Nigeria on Sunday in Lagos. Osinbajo said that the party had made adequate plans to ensure that the National Economic Council, which is under the office of the Vice President, was made a vibrant body in line with the provisions of the constitution. The statement also quoted Osinbajo as saying that an APC government would partner with the private sector for effective healthcare delivery. He said the party would also ensure the lowering of the cost of funds to provide easy access to capital, to address the crisis in the power sector and expend a minimum of one billion dollars on health insurance. The APC Vice Presidential candidate said that corruption would be tackled head-on as a first step to tackling the nation's myriad of problems. "We have to deal with corruption very seriously," he said. He said that the party's free education policy which would in the first instance be available at primary and secondary school levels, and later extended to tertiary levels but limited to science, technology, engineering, maths and education. However, he said that not every incident warrant arrest. “Do not forget it is not at every instance you arrest someone, sometimes, the best you do is to prepare yourselves, get your evidence first. “When you have your evidence, then you go into arrest. Arrest should normally come after the investigations, investigations are ongoing,’’ he said. the above quote indicate the problem with the eroding of the Powers of our National Institutions by the PDP. In the words of the IG, not everybody can be arrested for making Inflammatory Statements, not if you made the statements in the Bayelsa State Government House and your statement is supportive of the President you all worship and adore and you're not a member of the APC like El-Rufai. The IG needs evidence for something shown on NAtionAL Television before he acts with even the PDP Publicity Secretary distancing the party from the outburst of the so called militANTs who will find their squareroot when a proper President comes in by May 29 2015. Nigeria is a joke of a country. |
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, said on Sunday that the force had begun investigation into inflammatory statements allegedly made some Niger-Delta ex-militants. Abba said this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the inauguration of some operational vehicles for police by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. On whether the police need formal complaint on those statements, Abba said that the force did not need any formal complaint. “I am not aware that any of my officers have said that you require complaint over that – inflammatory statements by ex-militants. “Like I said investigations are going on, when it is the time to arrest, we will effect arrest,’’ the I-G said. On political thuggery, Abba said that all those involved in the act during political campaign rallies had been arrested, except the incidents in Rivers state, which were still being investigated. “There is no single incident during political rallies that arrests have not been made, except like I said earlier one or two incidents in Rivers, which investigation is still going on. “In all other incidents arrests have been made, even when the courts were on strike, we were still able to make arrangements where they (thugs) were properly secured. “Now that some of the courts are back, prosecution has already commenced in that regard, but remember it is not in every state that we witness thuggery,’’ he said. The I-G, who said that none of the political rallies had been disrupted by act of thuggery, expressed happiness that the exercise was gradually coming to an end. “Most of the leaders of the political parties have sent commendations to the fact that we are able to provide sufficient security for them. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/inflammatory-statements-police-begins-investigation-g/ |
Obrigardo:It goes beyond what you think. There is a leadership struggle in the hierarchy of the Rivers State judiciary with the PDP trying to foist the sister of one its chieftain as the Rivers State Chief Judge and Amaechi standinf his ground that as the State Governor he has the powers to either accept or reject the recommendation of the National Judiciary Council. The orchestra bombing and arson is to destroy and show Amaechi they have the Federal Might behind them as was the case in the forceful stadium Usage without paying for it yet refusing to clean up after using it. They want to create anarchy and siege mentality in Rivers and it is clear to anyone following the actions of the patience JonaTAN and Wike in Rivers. |
ellechrystal:Do one need a soothsayer to comprehend the politics of destruction orchestra by Wike and the PDP in Rivers since Amaechi defected to the opposition. |
I hope wike and his goons realize that Rivers State will exist if he wins the election or loses the next election what's the need for setting assets of the State you want to govern ablaze to intimidate and show you have the powers of the Federal Government behind you MODIFIED.... New news information says 3 State high courts in different areas of Rivers were bombed simultaneously and not a case of settling it ablaze but that the Courts were bombed. |
THE Rivers State High Court at Degema, Degema Local Government Area, was engulfed by fire in the early hours of today. Eyewitnesses said the fire started at about 4.00 am, but the cause of the inferno could not be ascertained. Almost all parts of the building were destroyed in the fire, which started barely 48 hours after the directive from the JUSUN to judiciary workers to resume duties. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/breaking-news-rivers-court-fire/#sthash.wNlwk4wy.dpuf |
smsshola:Anybody who watched the so called debate and have debated once or twice in his life will know the difference between looking through keypoints to get figures and outright reading from prepared scripts. He wasn't flipping through or having difficulty in getting where the points are but he had every answer arranged to the way the questions were asked. It was a clear case of just READING A PREPARED SPEECH.. I just changed the channel when he did same thing with the 4th round of questioning. It was an arrangee DEBATE with EXPO. Getting a memory juggler in a DEBATE won't require you continuously glancing on the supposed notes every 5seconds. |
Adminisher:silly he could not even memorize and add finesse to his points but was frequently looking at the chits he had on his table to dictate like it was a PROJECT COMMISIONING that he was doing. Let the NBA or other professional bodies without party affiliation prepared a debate like is done elsewhere with reasonable and damn intelligent questions. This one by NEDG is shambolic like the SAMBO in it |
mikeansy:some of you can be so foolish and daft in your response and you're calling someone else stooped. why not tell him to go and READ HIS SPEECH all alone rather than call such a DEBATE. It is clear the APC was right all along just that the useless and brainless sambo can't still grasp what to say without coming in with the EXPO |
tit:Yea, the others don't have vital data to put down and like someone posted above the organisers prevented someone earlier in the day from taking notes. Sambo is not writing down anything, he is reading. I have a friend in the audience who confirmed my observation |
Tundeajani:despite that, they should have allowed it to have some air of Neutrality. You're having a debate on National TV and you're reading as if giving a STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS. Don't they have commonsense in the PDP and the organizers can't even show some sign that it is supposed to be a debate not a SPEECH READING COMPETITION |
olatunji21:I didn't watch that, and had turned away from the stupid charade they called debate. What kind of debate does a debater reads from prepared chits. |
Why is being foolish synonymous with the PDP. You were privy to questions and still went ahead to bring in chits into the debate |
Watching the Vice Presidential Debate of the so called NEDG and I found it hilarious and stupid that of the 3 debaters, only the candidate of the PDP, Vice President Nemadi Sambo is looking down to his desk often and it is obvious he is reading a prepared chit for the debate cos he seems to have the questions to the Debate already prepared for him and all he is doing is to read it along. Watch his response and compare to the other two beside him, they are facing the audience when responding while Sambo is always looking to his table as if he is giving a speech. It is obvious, the APC was right and this debate was a charade all along. Watching it live and it is hilarious and so funny and daft that they can't teach him what to say despite seeing the questions, he still brought in the Chits into the Hall |
dayo23:Thanks for the complement bro. Nigeria's problem isn't prayers not being answered but we allowed ourselves to be driven by parochial sentiments of religion and ethnic bigotry. If Nigeria is better, it will be for the good and benefit of all. If you allow a poor, less populated, lower GDP, civil war ravaged and less developed country like Chad make military incursions into your territory without invitation or coordination with your own military then your National Security and Territorial Integrity is at risk. The best defence of a Nation is DETERENCE AND FEAR OF YOUR CAPABILITY TO RESPOND WHEN ATTACKED., what North Korea, Iran and Russia are benefiting hugely from cos all their enemies are not sure of their military might. But what the Chadian Army have done is to show the entire world how useless our Army and National Defence is like. It is totally not in existence. Chadians planes enter into our country and we have no radar to pick them up and no Airforce jets scrambled to intercept them to ask their mission. Shame on Nigerian leadership from the political leaders to the military. Russians jets enter the English channels last Thursday and the Royal Airforce was in the Air seconds after to intercept them and afterwards the Russian Envoy was summoned to Downing Street to explain, that's response. Have the Nigerian leaders or military made any comment since the episode? NO. Watch Niger Republic start getting ideas to seize Nigerian Territories soon. |
podosci:Case of a choice between devil and the red sea. Most inhabitants of those territories who have lost faith in the Nigerian Army will stick with the chadians. Nigeria will get it territory back from Chad when Buhari comes in, he is a destiny child. But this time around at.a cost to our national honour and national security. They will seek and earn a hard bargain and will most likely release those territories after earning a good negotiation for their lost too. The Bakassi scenario comes to mind here. |
delishpot:Which party is he flying their flag? APUGA or Labour Party? |
Buhari is just another specially created human being. You can't just but be fascinated by his gentility and simple nature. A whole former Minister of Petroleum for 3 years and Head of State for 20months without a single oil bloc to his name and babangida's wife fashion designer is today the richest black woman in the world courtesy of the donation of an oil bloc by a "caring and kind " president who pushed buhari aside for hating prosperity and not allowing the boys steal. God will bless ans reward you here and in the hereafter GMB. |
podosci:Sign undertaking? You don't mean it do you? You mean they should allow their own soldiers to die while yours run away from the front and the only thing they will tell the family of their soldiers is an undertaking for being a good neighbor. Let face reality here, Chad under president habre their late former president led an incursion into Nigeria in 1982 I think, and killed some nigerian soldiers whilst laying claims.to same territories in Nigeria they are fighting seriously to liberate now. Buhari then under whose division those soldiers were took it upon himself to liberate the territory hijacked and took on the Chadian Army killing and clearing them even up to the border of Libya before the OAU intervened and pleaded with president Shagari to rein in Buhari and his soldiers. History has a way of repeating itself. Chad won't leave.with nothing, they had plans for those territories long long ago |
podosci:The field of stanlingrad remains one of the bloodiest in human warfare in modern times. Officers and Men driven by the love of Motherland defended with bare hands and claws to never go down even when they knew the Germans were more in number and better equipped but they stood their grounds and never retreated. Even when there was rumour of retreat command the soldiers never obeyed but fought on. we've heard Boko Haram is well equipped but then we see videos of Boko Haram getting its supplies from the Nigerian Army Armoury. How can you give your tools to your enemy and then turn around to say he is better equipped than you who owned the weapon? Its obvious the Chadian Invasion is to help its Kanuri tribesmen who it feels are being used as pawn in the Politics of jonaTAN and some military top echelons who wants to perpetuate and sustain the Insurgency for their own selfish and obvious political gains at the expense of innocent citizens |
Descartes:why not foolishly take those your answers to the Presidency and the DSS. they will most likely need them than me. ignorant people like you who lack basic understanding of Military operations assume all is well because some daft commentators spew rubbish that you foolishly assume is the reality. For Chad to raise its National Flag on Nigerian Territory signify a new low for the Nigerian Army. All our neighbours will see the Nigerian Army as an assemblage of foolish and jobless youths who joined up to make ends meet and hence lack tactical military manuovers except for running away in the face of attack. No Military worth its name runaway from TERRORIST advance. Russia lost over 500,000 soldiers to the German Advance during the 2nd world war but they never backed down. Same Boko Haram that your soldiers are running from are being diminished by a more competent and motivated ARMY. Shame on JONATAN and shame on the Nigerian Military Leadership, shame on the DSS, Shame on the Minister of Defence, shame on the National Security Adviser. |
Descartes:don't quote my mention please if you have nothing worthwhile to contribute. Do you even think of the implication for our National Security that a ragtag boys are sending our Army into confusion despite the wealth of Nigeria and budgetary allocation to defence in the last 5 years. Chad is raising flags across the territory of your Country and you're stupidly talking of blackmail. Do you think the Chadian Army will be an easy pushover to ease them out of Nigeria when Boko Haram is dealt with by them. Chad had design over those places it is now claiming over 30years ago and it took the military tactical intelligence of Buhari to purge them of Nigeria back then as an ordinary GOC. If we cant pursue Boko Haram, can we face the Chadians presently with the chaos within the Army and total collapse of Command Structures unmotivated Infantry Officers, No functional AIrforce, No commandoes and you're stupidly talking of Blackmail. Are you ordinarily stupid or it comes on weekends? |
Hear a foreign President talking about claiming a territory of Nigeria from Terrorists while our own so called Largest and Most Budgetary Allocated Army run between their legs leaving their arms and armoury to ragtag boys. Chad's president Idriss Deby has also expressed intentions of taking back the strategic Nigerian town of Baga from Boko Haram, situated on Lake Chad It is a shame what JonaTAN has turn Nigeria into, with the large scale corruption in the Military and TOMPOLO buying WARSHIPS for the NIGERIAN NAVY and some dullheads are saying HE SHOULD CONTINUE... |
Guess Shekau is pushing his luck and infamous power too far, believing the Chadian Army is as useless as the Nigerian Army that run away from the battlefield. |
Three soldiers and 123 Boko Haram militants were killed when the Islamist group attacked a Chadian army contingent in northern Cameroon, the Chadian military said. Twelve soldiers were wounded in the attacks staged by the Islamists on Thursday and Friday near the border town of Fotokol, according to a military statement read out on national television. Chad sent a convoy of troops and military vehicles into neighbouring Cameroon on January 17 to deal with the growing threat Boko Haram poses in the region. "The enemy was repelled by our defensive forces," the general staff's statement said, adding that the troops had "routed" the Islamists in the second attack. The soldiers were killed by improvised explosive devices, the statement said. A senior Cameroonian security source said the Chadian troops were deployed to the town, which sits opposite a Nigerian town under Boko Haram control and is also close to the border with Chad, on Wednesday. Boko Haram frequently stages attacks on Fotokol from their base in the Nigerian town of Gamboru, which is just 500 metres (yards) away. Chad has called on countries in the region to form a broad coalition in the fight against the Islamist group. The country has already deployed its army along its borders as well as sending the additional contingent to Cameroon. Chad's president Idriss Deby has also expressed intentions of taking back the strategic Nigerian town of Baga from Boko Haram, situated on Lake Chad. The African Union called on Friday for a regional five-nation force of 7,500 troops to defeat the "horrendous" rise of Boko Haram. "Terrorism, in particular the brutality of Boko Haram against our people, (is) a threat to our collective safety, security and development. This has now spread to the region beyond Nigeria and requires a collective, effective and decisive response," AU commission chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said in a speech opening the summit. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told African leaders that Boko Haram was "a clear danger to national, regional and international peace and security". The group's uprising has become a regional crisis, with the four directly affected countries -- Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Nigeria -- agreeing along with Benin to boost cooperation to contain the threat and to form a Multinational Joint Task Force. More than 13,000 people have been killed and more than one million made homeless by Boko Haram violence since 2009. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/three-chad-soldiers-123-boko-haram-militants-killed-011259086.html In the Pix below: Soldiers of the Chadian army guard on January 21, 2015, the border between Nigeria and Cameroon, some 40 km from Maltam, as part of a military contingent against the armed Islamist group Boko Haram

Jarus:I think the senate presidency will be zoned to the south east or south south. Let hope the people of anambra return ngige else it might be Magnus Abe if APC wins majority seat in the senate and he wins also. |
She and her dundee husband should just park themselves put for one side. They are the most foolish First couple anywhere in the world, no wonder Michele Obama asked her not to come to the US last year. |
I heard the JUSUN strike was called off for this kind of shenanigans. Lets see who owns sovereignty either the people or PDP. Attorney General bribing COURT WORKERS to go on strike so as to prevent people with grudges against a stupid primary from being heard and all cases against GEJ election are suspended but on seeing the tsunami coming they have decided to open Federal Courts while States Courts are still locked to deflect the anger and lack of any thing to campaign with and playing their last cards of desperation. The patriotic Secretary General of JUSUN was right then, the Attorney General bribed union heads to call the strike, now they need the court to open so as to file this case they called off strike. Strike called off late sunday 25th January night, Okafor got his court summon Monday 26th january. They don't even have tact and commonsense in their planning. Who are the thinkers behind the PDP? Why is being daft and and clueless a plague amongst its members and supporters? Acting without adequate plans is failure. APC have the antidote okafor, your sponsors didn't do their homework fine. This is a no case submission. Never in our National History did an Attorney General bribe judiciary workers union officials to go on strike to forestall intra party crisis being heard in courts but now they need to courts to do them a favour they foolishly think they can get, they have bribed again to open only federal courts meanwhile what JUSUN supposedly went on strike for IS NOT IMPLEMENTED. JONATAN will go down history as the worst president to have ruled Nigeria and his case will be worst than Laurent Gbagbo. The tsunami is coming Tot their documentary should do the magic, let them continue to make Buhari popular, hope they have money to keep playing the Documentary till the 14th of FeBUHARI for a stupid documentary won't deter this CHANGE. Watch out for the APC's documentary soon on your TV. |
God will perish all stakeholders in the destruction of the Nigerian entity N all those who contributed to the way the country is at the moment for their personal and selfish reasons. It was clear the JUSUN strike was politically motivated from the onset and the purpose now coming to light. Let them do as they feel, Nothing will stop this MOMENTUM FOR CHANGE. NOTHING, not even bastards bishop and tribal bigots. Imagine running down all our National Institutions to serve GEJ's interest and bastards here will say he is humble and nice. God destroy all those wishing to destroy Nigeria |
While the Nigeria media is on lockdown by our military and political leader. Painful when concern is made 1000s of miles away and those directly concerned are more passionate about reelection . |
I pray our country don't end up another Libya or Somalia where warlords and militia run amok. Shame on the present crop of military top echelons and the most useless commander in chief in human history. |
