can someone see truth and proper information dissemination from the Chadian Military. the Nigerian Military spokesperson Olukolade will even deny its own Men like the case of the AirForce pilot that was killed so as to keep passing on false and misleading information to the citizenry.

The UK and US Army gives number of casualties on the front daily immediately the family of the fallen soldier is informed. No single Nigerian not even journalists know the total number of Nigerian soldiers killed in Battle not even some families know the fate of their sons and brothers up till now.

The media blackout and denial by the DHQ is not helpful and is counter productive.

thanks sanchez01 I was about to post that information you uploaded before I saw you've done same.

jonaTAN and his ministers are fraud. the worst and most surprising of them all is Madam Okonjo Iweala, How will she face her former colleagues in the World Bank and stare them in the face after jonaTAN is booted out in May 29, 2015.

Tot Aondoaaka will be the worst Justice Minister Nigeria would ever had, never knew Bello Adoke will surpass him. Same Adoke was deeply involved in the Malabu Oil corruption deal and now he has the effrontery to try to deny a whole ECA.

Are some Nigerians so brainless to wish that GEJ continue as President, How can any sane human being pray for the continuation of this fraud of a Government.

why the sudden denial of the ECA? they said they were saving some funds from the sales of Crude in the ECA but when the state governors said they want to be privy to how the funds is being managed they are suddenly denying its existence.

It is clear the ECA is being run and operated like the way they operate the NNPC accounts, they have no records of how they expend monies since it is part of their National Cake they cut off chunks from as they pleases.

this is the most shameless government in Human history. Denying an account your Minister of Finance is always talking about and from which she said $1b was withdrawn from in December to pay Oil subsidy bills.

It is clear, the JONATAN administration is a fraud
PoliticsFG Denies Operating Excess Crude Account by pendy79(op):
The Federal Government yesterday told the Supreme Court that there was nothing like Excess Crude Account (ECA) in existence anywhere and challenged the 36 states challenging the legality of the alleged account to prove otherwise.

The case came up on Tuesday after several failed attempts for an out-of-court settlement between the warring parties. In the suit, the states are also challenging the transfer of $1 billion from the account to the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF).

The court, presided by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, was forced to adjourn proceedings to March 19, 2015 after the court could not locate some of the processes filed by counsel to the 36 states of the federation, Yusuf Ali.

Although Ali had urged the court for a stand down to enable him trace the process at the registrar, he was overruled by the CJN who said the court had no luxury of time to grant such a request.

Earlier, counsel from the chambers of the Federal Attorney General, Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), Ahmed Abdulmalik informed the court that the alleged Excess Crude Account does not exist.

His words: “The plaintiffs are deceiving themselves. They are aware that there is nothing like ECA anywhere. As soon as any money comes from the account, it is channeled into the Federation Account and shared every month among the states.

“The Federal Government is at a loss as to how the states came up with their claim. The Federal Government is interested in proceeding with this case so that the states can tell the court where the ECA is domiciled. My lords, we are ready to tackle the plaintiffs in court.”

The CJN had earlier insisted that the matter should be settled amicably out of court by both parties saying there was nothing difficult to warrant the interpretation by the Supreme Court.

“If counsels are sincere with their clients, it’s a matter that should be resolved without the court’s intervention,” Justice Mohammed stated.

In the suit, the states stated that the conduct of the government of the federation and its officials was a violation of rule of law and a breach of the independence of the judiciary and constitutes a violation of the principles of rule of law handed down by the Supreme Court in the case of Governor of Lagos v Odumegwu Ojukwu (1986) pt 1 NSCC 304 and Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi v INEC (2008) 5 NWLR (pt 1080) 277.

In addition, they described the action of the Federal Government as executive lawlessness and impunity, saying the proposed disbursement of $1 billion by the Federal Government, its Minister of Finance and other officers would create a state of fait accompli and helplessness, if not stopped immediately

Do you hear his response to the way the refineries were working circa 1976-1980s and how we were even exporting finished products to neighbouring countries.

His analogy of the inadequate preparation before limping from hydro to thermal power generation which have made all the thermal stations built by the PDP government to be down at the moment.

Does this man have no shame? What did he do with the Ribadu petroleum task force report which gave recommendations to "correct all the lapses in the oil sector"? After the King (GEJ) and the queen of corruption (Allison-Madueke) managed to undermine the work and recommendations of the Ribadu petroleum task force, to the disappointment and condemnation of a shocked world, Jonathan still has the nerve to say this? I would not like to call the President of Nigeria names but his brazen lies and deceitful utterances puts even the most hardened criminal to shame!!!
He reacts based on outburst and condemnation. It took soludo's damning swipe for him to remember that there was an audit they spend millions of dollars on.

This report will go the Ribadu way, inside the wastebin of Aso Rock, except they can doctor it to sooth them. What stop them from publishing it instantly but he is giving it to the Auditor General to try and see if there are things they should remove from the report before giving it to the public.

were we not told they have privatize the Power Sector? Nigerians are paying N750 maintenance fee very month whether power was given or not. Multiply N750 by approximately 100million households in the country.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disbursed N18.26 billion to the first batch of beneficiaries of the N213 billion Nigeria Electricity Market Stabilisation Facility (NEMSF).

This comprises two electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and three electricity Generation Companies (GENCOs).
In his welcome remarks at the ceremony held at the Bank’s head office in Abuja, on Monday, the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, reiterated that the N 213 billion Nigeria Electricity Market Stabilisation Facility (NEMSF) was a way of kick-starting the electricity market in order to ensure that the sector delivered tangible improvement in power supply to Nigerians.
He explained that the CBN, in collaboration with the banking sector, offered to provide the facility to address recent shortfalls in power sector revenues caused by needed adjustments in the electricity tariff and legacy gas debts.

While congratulating the first batch of beneficiaries, which, he said, had met the conditions precedent to disbursement, Emefiele urged the beneficiaries to ensure that the funds were repaid as and when due. He stressed the need for them to ensure that all inputs into the generation of power were in a consistent manner.

He equally charged them to invest the funds in the necessary improvements in generation plant maintenance, transmission upgrades and distribution networks including transformers and better metering for end consumers.
Furthermore, he urged other Distribution and Generation Companies to take a cue from the first batch of beneficiaries so as to receive their respective tranches of the facility as soon as possible.

Prof. Chinedu Nebo commended the CBN Governor for the key role he played in ensuring the success of the inter-ministerial/agency collaboration, which involved the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ministry of Power, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday offered explaination as to why the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, (SAN), were not able to collect their permanent voter’s card (PVC).

The explanation was given by the INEC Deputy Director in charge of Voters Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang, at a one-day workshop for newsmen in Kaduna.

Dazang stated that the commission encountered the problem of loss of data which was caused by some INEC staff.
According to him, “the initial lost of data led to loss of finger prints and that was why the Sultan of Sokoto, Governor Fashola of Lagos and others could not get their PVCs. Attitude of some INEC staff led to loss of the data”.
He however declared that despite the challenges being faced by INEC, the commission has achieved 65 percent distribution of PVC nationwide and expressed optimism that the percentage of PVC distribution would increased substantially before the election.

PoliticsWe’ll Correct The Lapses In The Oil Sector, Says Jonathan-finally Accepting Rot! by pendy79(op): 5:10pm On Feb 03, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that his government will correct all the lapses in the oil sector after he received the Forensic Audit report on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) from the international auditing firm, Water House.

He explained that the report would help to address the lapses in the oil industry and help the administration to address the misconceptions in the industry.

“Everybody knows that the sector needs to be reformed and I believe that by the time we go through the petroleum industry bill and make it a law, most of these lapses would be corrected and the misconceptions will be properly addressed by the different administrative structures.

“I thank you for what you have done. It will help us, it will help this country to set things right. We will handle it decisively based on the information that we have.

“Based on the preliminary information, Nigerians need not be so scared about the kind of stories that we hear.”

Jonathan then directed the Auditor-General of the Federation, Samuel Ukura, to look into the report and release major findings to the government within the week.

He also told him to liaise with the firm to clear any grey areas in the report.

President Jonathan thanked the audit firm for turning in the report on time and for clarifying the issues in the petroleum ministry.

He observed that both chambers of the National Assembly had delved into the matter in the past; and that with the report, the issue of leakages in the petroleum industry would be laid to rest.

The president said that the kind of figures mentioned in the newspapers “looked so ridiculous”, noting that they were figures that he could not imagine the country earned.

“I am quite pleased that you have taken a forensic audit. I will give it to the professionals, the auditor-general of the federation, so that within the week we will get the key findings,” the president said.

He described the report as “a precious document” which could be used as future reference material to improve operations in the oil industry and for academic purposes.

PoliticsBriggs: Peterside Leads Wike In Rivers Guber Poll by pendy79(op): 3:42pm On Feb 02, 2015
The massive crowd recorded at the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside, in Obio-Akpor Rivers State, at the weekend, had proven emphatically that Obio-Akpor is not the exclusive preserve of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, said Andy Briggs, a media and political strategist
.
Briggs said the rally which held at the College of Arts and Sciences, drew a record-breaking crowd of Obio-Akpor indigenes as well as non-indigenes. Obio-Akpor has the largest non-indigene population in Rivers State.

Speaking at the rally, Chief Willie Ubaka, a non-indigene and well-known Obio-Akpor leader, declared that non-indigenes would deliver hundred per cent of their votes to Dakuku Peterside. He said the non-indigenes fear that a Wike’s administration would be hurtful to their economic activities due to his initiation of all kinds of revenue collecting task forces during his tenure as Obio-Akpor council boss.

According to Ifeanyi Ofor an Ibo businessman, “Wike will, tax even our television set, if he is governor.”

Opinion polls, however, confirmed the assertions as they suggest that Dakuku Peterside is emerging as the favourite to win the governorship election due to his popularity with non-indigenes who make up the largest political bloc in the state.
Other factors for Peterside’s rise in the polls, according to Briggs include his rising popularity in Ikwerre land, the massive Ogoni support heightened by the involvement of Senator Magnus Abe in his campaign, the continuing discomfort of Riverine groups with Wike’s ambition and Rivers people’s more approving perception of Peterside.

According to a survey of opinions from all over the state, Wike’s aggressive image is a turn-off. People especially in the riverine communities feel that he has been quite cunning, exploiting the opportunities presented by the conflict between President Jonathan and Governor Chibuike Amaechi to hijack the Rivers PDP.

“Wike would be a generous governor to his allies and a terror to his foes. He would pack a lot of muscle on the street and he would not, when infuriated, respect the freedom of the press and the rights of those who disagree with him. He would run a tough take-it or leave-it administration and he would expect the legislature to be nothing more than a well rewarded rubber stamp because he is a man who brooks no opposition and is ready to pay for what he wants,” says Obi Iyke, a political analyst.

According to him, “a lot of people feel that Peterside would never be as domineering, as dictatorial and as threatening as Wike. He is more easy going and less temperamental than Wike. He can gloss over an insult when he needs to but Wike will probably lash out at the least provocation.

“The survey shows that people feel more at home with Peterside because they can heckle at him and they can laugh with him. There is nothing forbidden about his person. Investigations show that his gates are open to people all day. He is a bit like the guy next door. Wike, on the other hand is a more formidable proposition; shrewd and war-like as clearly demonstrated by his army-booted take-over of the coveted Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium. People complained that Wike has consistently failed to shake-off that aggressive war-like image and the hint of malevolence; that his image remains a problem and his attitude says, he does not give a hoot and that he will take Rivers in the same way he took Adokiye Amiesimaka whether any one likes it or not,” he added.

He went further to state: “The APC is the ruling party in Rivers State. This means that in every local government area there is a caretaker council chairman to direct and fund the efforts of the 0APC stalwarts in every ward. This is part of the governor’s power of incumbency which has been placed at Dakuku’s disposal. As the Peterside bandwagon sweeps through the local government areass, becoming a huge avalanche of Rivers people intent on a landslide victory, it remains to be seen whether the Wike camp can find an answer.”
