Jonathan came to collapse the few remaining institutions we have while making as much money for himself and cronies as possible. This man hasnt come to govern. He has no clue about governance. The opening post is only symptomatic of a deeper malaise the Jonathan govt represent. GEJ PR crew will send some dollars to Russia to douse the Negative publicity. But is this how to govern? A true leader looks beyond his personal gains and aim to strengthen institutions. That is how nations grow. I can say with confidence that the money in question had budgetary approval. Perhaps more than 5x what is required. Automatically it becomes a personal fund to dispense at the whim of Ministry officials. This matter has been in the press for several weeks. Unfortunately it is not enough to trigger the interest of EFCC and ICPC both anti crime agencies made redundant by GEJ. |
Dessertion will continue until the army faces this problem head on. Desserting soldiers should be sought, tried and shot. Until this done, it will continue. What do these cowards think the army is about? Shooting unarmed civillians? An effective way to do this will be to use two desserting soldiers as example- one from the north, one from the south. This will also address the petty cowardly mutinies going on. |
Our people think say na we start 419. This woman should be investigated and arrested. She is a fraudster. Her claims are bogus and she is trying to obtain money under false pretenses. |
A pharmaceutical research centre in Abuja, Ben Amodu Firms and Research Center, Saturday said it has submitted drug samples to the Federal Government that have the efficacy to tackle Ebola virus.@ bolded statement, Is this guy a pharmacist or a comedian? I am assuming of course that he is a sane human. |
BetaThings: Possible in theoryWell, considering that our choices here are limited as we do not have a military anymore. I am still not convinced its not the only way to go. On the other hand we could engage mercenaries since we have an army that wont fight!! |
Supposing we contract the matter of our kidnapped girls to Chadian soldiers? |
GenBuhari: What issues exactly do you have against this thread?I will forgive you cause you have made some truly valid contribution in politics section. Ebola is no fairy tale. Its a disease that was first described in 1976. There have been various outbreaks I am aware of in East and Central Africa. The current outbreak is well known and it is decimating whole sections of rural and urban Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. To say it is a lie for whatever reason is wickedness and insensitivity to the loved ones and the memories of the two nurses at First Consultant Hospital and the Ecowas protocol officer who succumbed to ebola transmitted to them by the Liberian, Patrick Sawyyer who defied efforts to quarrantine him. It will make sense to close this thread immediately. |
I hope the armed robbers left the isolation center in tact because they are going to need it in like 2 weeks unless they were fully kitted in infection control gear during robbery. |
@OP Seun, this guy is a disgrace to all literate Nigerians. Please ban him from your forum. Nothing else to be said. He has not raised any issue worth debating. Besides he is clearly in violation of forum rule that is against inappropriate use of exaggerated letters. |
@Op, I have to say this. You regularly leave out the price of your premium vehicles preferring interested buyers to call for negotiation. In a forum where sellers usually state their price, some of us find this strategy annoying. A buyer may have chosen a particular brand for a particular price range flips through these pages, encounters an alternative brand, then the price becomes a reason for making that call to u. Think about it. |
What a dumb engr. Coren got itself a lunatic for president. Please quote me. |
Here is a fitting definition of a true dog lover. |
OP, this is bold and commendable. In order to succeed u must also consider farm security. 2800x1300=3.64m from plantain alone. Some bank and filling station heists dont yield as much. In some villages people are known to invade farms not to eat but to sell. Those doing the planting for a fee may be the ones to come at night. Seek advice from locals NL may not be of much help in this regard. |
I think it is natural and it does happen for a normal average wife to occasionally fantasize about a man she has met. That fantasy cannot become reality if opportunity does not arise. I will explain. Accommodation in a place like Abuja can be difficult. A man could accept to have a friend live with the family while he makes arrangement for his own acc (a stewpied thing Nigerian men do these days). And then Mr husband goes away from home for a few days perhaps on account of work related obligation. Things can and do happen in situations like this. The woman didnt go looking for adventure. Adventure came to her. At other times if a woman feels neglected because the guy has been having regular trysts outside the home, she may be forced to lower her moral standard to and justify it as a 'one-time-thing that wouldnt happen again. Unfortunately, it does. If a housewife finds herself a lone with an ex, that is a potentially explosive situation. We are not talking about all other things some housewives do in the office to advance career or to live like the Joneses |
Emulti: I bet u, no sane leader can obey such order from NMA. U can't order ur employer around.Save for the illegitimate allowances parastatals like the FIRS, the NNPC, Customs etc allow their staff, doctors remain the highest paid civil servants and rightly so. But there is so much a govt can do. Much of those demands were put there to checkmate Johesu. But Johesu is not going to take that lying down. The govt should be prepared for their own strike if concessions are granted. And the vicious cycle is repeated all over. Solution? Sell the hospitals without further delay. |
yerimastyle: Attack Ebola on a nanoscaleHere is another 'researcher' telling us that 'nano gold' is better. I suppose it stands to reason. Why have nano silver when we can get our selves nano gold. I hope Prof Chukwu is reading this. BTW, what does he profess and in which university? For those of u who say the US is merely playing mischief trying to open your eyes, you forget that is a nation spending top dollars of their tax payers' money trying to make this hell hole called Nigeria liveable. How can u all be so blind to this egregious act of insanity, incompetence and national fraud. Prof Chukwu should apologise to all Nigerians and then resign honorably. |
Started driving at 28. It was my first car. Before then at age about 13 thinking i could drive, I brought down a signboard and almost ran over a child at play. |
stevecantrell:Maybe we should go back to the use of mercury for the treatment of syphilis. Nano silver as a prsospective drug for treating ebola is nothing but a cheap scam. I am shocked that a health minister can even voice this. What kind of a prof is he? We had better stick with our salt and water. It costs next to nothing and its far less poisonous. |
Dannyxy: you are dull, what is wrong in testing the drugs?, if it works, good, if it doesn't, we move on.You are a slowpoke and a disgrace to not just Nigerians but all civilized people. Even if you were commissioned by the so called scientist to launder his image on NL, dont you see that this is all a fraudulent enterprise? Nano silver has been around for ever. Its a poison, not a drug foool. |
Kirinwa: Op by 29M is it 29 million naira?Wait till you hear the cost of a brand new Bentley that is when your craze will start for real. Why cant you just admire it and look away without having to think that someday you could own one? Must u Nigerians own everything you see with your eye? |
A victory for PDP would have meant a slap on the face of the late Bola Ige. Omisore is yet to disabuse the mind of the public of his involvement in his murder. |
agitator: Ok, don't cry for them and don't sell your fuel to Russia.I can not cry for Russia. I can only pity them. They got themselves a chance to move along with the world but they threw it away. They want to go back to the days of the Soviet Union when they qeued endlessly for bread but they couldnt get. Now that they have a chance to choose between European and American bread its so easy to forget what happened not so long ago. |
Russians are wasting fuel and resources they ought to be conserving in the face of global sanctions. They will have nothing to eat but their aging nuclear weapons when the going gets tough. |
domido: Fellow nairalanders, i was having an argument, i want to know if its advisable to attach dat i was a Union Leader or an Activist while in school as an Achievement.A unionist wannabe and a potential trouble maker in the work place? At interview you will be treated as a curiosity. You automatically disqualify your self from the position sought. No HR manager would like to be accused of giving a job to a potential liability. That in itself is a dent on the recruiter's CV. You become an ebola to recruitment. |
Why cant the Army go to Gwoza or Mandara hills or is it not part of Nigeria? Little wonder the Americans believe our troops are slow to learn. |
One is not sure of the exact circumstances of his death. But I would be very uncomfortable leading a platoon of soldiers with an overzealous islamist into battle. May his soul RIP. |
macfarland: And the then the lies continues....Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimum or no supervision, goal oriented, excellent use of initiative, interpersonal and analytical skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, strong team player, meticulous and given to detailsIf today's job seeker says none of these things I wonder what he is expected to say in a fierce competitive environment like ours. This is not Zimbabwe or Mlawi. This is Nigeria. |
