Lai Muhammed and the ACN represent the opposition. It is expected that the opposition will attempt to discredit the govt and create disaffection in the populace. It is for the govt to prove them wrong through purposeful and reasoned course of action. If they have to support every action of govt it means they will remain forever in opposition. It goes without saying that ACN missed the boat on this one. Jonathan obviously has widespread support in his declaration of state of emergency albeit late. His concern now should be how effective he utilizes the instruments of state security to achieve his goal. Will he exercise diligence, wisdom and purposefulness in his effort or will it be like all things Jonathan we have known since the beginning of his tenure? |
Lets face it. In today's Nigeria telling a guy who is either older, a contemporary or even a subordinate but an adult 'how are you' is derisive and belittling. Please dont do it if you truly mean well. You are rubbing him the wrong way whether he gives a polite response or not. I will tell a guy 'How are you' if I genuinely hate his gut and I know there is nothing he can do about it. And I usually will not give a damn about his reply. I am not sure how gender affects the equation bc I cant remember any girl telling me how are you even while in school. I suppose the reaction may not be entirely the same but she had better be crazily, insanely beautiful. And volouptous. Otherwise I will kick her to the gutter. |
To be sure, pennywise is not a monster. He is an average nig guy educated and socially aware. Some might even consider him overly effusive greeting d old and young |
If you spit in my face, that will probably be the last thing you ever do.
I may spit in ur face if i am in a good mood. On a bad day I will probably hang you (or u would wish i did) and that goes for any bone-headed youngster including those who will approach me with their slimy hand for a hand shake. Obviously most folks here are ignorant of true social etiquette. You will not find it written anywhere. It is common sense and those who understand it find favours and those who fail to acknowledge may pay a painful price. In truth nothing makes it uniquely Nigerian. I cant imagine a UK minister asking the Queen 'how are you' or putting out his hand for a hand shake if he wasnt approached first. How are you should be left for children and pre adolescent teenagers even though i can hardly bring myself to address them as such |
Every culture has its peculiarities and sensitivities and if you want to thrive in contemporary Nigerian society, do not go around arrogantly telling folks 'How are you"? What is wrong with 'Hello Good morning or hello good afternoon'. I personally will spit in your face. I am by nature very polite and respectful. I dont tell people "how are you". Please do not tell me how are you unless you deliberately mean to be disrespectful. If you are the type that is fixated on 'how' perhaps 'how 'r you doing' might be what you need. |
These photos re-emphasizes the committment of Sergeant AGBAJE OLANIYI a ‘dedicated’ police officer who hangs around ‘ASHI ROAD, at the sharp corner on the way to BASHORUN’. We got these photos from a reader who was detained at that same sharp corner, all because he refused to give him the popular N20 (or i mean N50 as it seems they ‘don port o’ too and have upgraded to N50 now. lol)What I really like to know is does 'Reader' live on ASHI ROAD or is he a frequent guest? If he is a frequent guest on ASHI ROAD what is his mission and is he entirely sure he is not breaking any law by his visits? Has he had an encounter with a police officer over this? What is the true motive of his attempt to ridicule this dedicated officer of the law? Ashi = As/hawo. |
Strange! And I thought only white people do things like this. |
If this scam had originated in Nigeria, it would have gone on forever with our folks not knowing what to do or how $45m got missing. ![]() |
Is ‘Aboki’ A Racial Slur?
Or perhaps you mean-'Is Aboki a tribal slur'? |
Hmmnn |
@Op, that figure is better than the 100% of girls using blackberry. |
topmostg: Ayatollah seun is a young man oo.The real Seun is in his 40s, he has a beard and 3 children. |
A week to her wedding...... Am thinking this kidnapping may be conncted to the wedding..... who knows if it is a jilted lover.....
The area mentioned is a known dark spot for arrned robberies. The boys may have chosen to diversify. And they will kidnap you too if u are considered 'ransom worthy'. I hope they leave the bride 'untainted'. It wont be an easy thing for a young groom to take. |
Siena: For all your criticism, and apparent embarassment with regards your friend's spoken English, your written English is hardly any better. Your write-up here is riddled with errors. Incorrect use of tense, capital and lower case letters. It is possible that you mean well "in the nicest possible way" but a social network forum is what it is. Minor errors of some kind are inevitable. It is not a reason to leave the substance to chase shadows. Your correction is not without errors. 'criticism, and apparent. . .' Wrong. Correction? Criticism and apparent 'with regards your friend's spoken English. . .' Wrong. Correction? 'with regard to your friend's spoken English. . ' Well, what can I say? |
vccghana: we want state of emergency in borno and nasarawa stateFear let Jonathan? Any excessive activity committed by the troops now are a responsibility of the Nigerian Army but any death when a state of emergency is declared is on Jonathan. But the man want to be president for as long as possible. Why risk mass northern discontent (even if several hundred thousands have to die)? |
sauceEEP: SEUN,YOU MUST BE THE BIGGEST FOOL OF THE CENTURY. DID I HEAR YOU SAY THAT EXTENDING THE RESTRICTION TO OTHER RELIGION WILL AMOUNT TO INFRINGEMENT ON THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH OF NAIRALANDERS? INFACT MAY YOU WALK AND JAM ASO ROCK!!!Admin self preservation is the unstated rule and rightly so because if seun is shot or stabbed to death or decapitated on account of what you folks post here, there may just not be NL! |
bolaino: Is black berry a phone or a fruit? Its a fruity fone. U need to have one. |
Ngwakwe: It worked in UAE, India, South Africa, Brazil, Saudi Arabia etc.. Is bb not used in these countries mentioned? Good governance is what this country needs not another ploy by the executive to muscle the citizenry. Any intelligent and serious legislature should be able to identify at least a few items of impeachable offences in this move of the executive. |

Intelligence can make an average looking girl appear very beautiful. A beautiful girl without intelligence is the ultimate bore and a relationship killer. But lets not forget that real intelligence has no absolutes. It is relative to that of the guy trying to make up his mind. ![]() It is doubtful that a typical guy would go out looking to connect with a girl bc she has a great mind. Only girls do that kind of thing. We guys just want to get laid and that includes all the hypocrites. So, I will say looks or beauty comes first. Those looking for a high IQ will not see it written on foreheads. They have to be be interested enough to want to mingle. Whether he stays after the act depends on her personality which is a function of intelligence by the way. |
Tolexander: the question you should have asked yourself is that was he the only one that submitted the entry for the design of the national flag? There is nothing there that a pry school child could not have done. Infact any other entry that was made would have been better irrespective of criteria save for the official national mediocrity called'federal character' which I suspect was the sole consideration. |
It is hardly surprising that the flag originator has not fared very well. Maybe this country would have been better off if a more innovative and intuitive mind had designed our flag. It is about time the bland, uninspiring, good for nothing symbol is dispensed with. Thereafter the color green should be decreed off our national flag. The flag must have been chosen in a hurry to meet the independence celebration deadline. But all that is over now. Wole Soyinka was the gentleman's contemporary. I would have preferred whatever he had to give. |
yommy2sure: The most annoying is tagging me in a picture I'm not in making me get unnecessary notifications. Abeg!!!!!U simply untag yourself. That is another beauty of fbk. It took me a while to understand that bit and it almost cost me a valued friendship bc I had to insist that the person remove the pix. |
When you have a family this large, DNA test longer matter I guess. It matters only when you have one or two kids ![]() |
It seems if you are a big-game armed robber looking to advance your career in Lagos you have no choice but to reckon with this man, SP Abba Kyari. He will find and kill you. |
The judge who presided over the pension scam trial and gave light sentence to one of the accused persons, has been suspended for one year without pay by the National Judicial Council (NJC). Justice Abubakar Talba of the FCT High Court imposed a mere N750,000 to convicted felon, John Yakubu Yusuf, who stole billions of pension fund. The NJC has proven by this decision that the Judiciary is capable of at least some measure of self cleansing. Nigerians hope that this is a first step towards the dismissal and prosecution of this shamed judge. Justice Thalba represents the face of a scam perpetrated against Nigerians using his court to give lawful authority. He colluded with a self-confessed police pension thief on one hand and Lamorde's EFCC on the other. The question is why has Ibrahim Lamorde not been dismissed yet or at least suspended? |
This is what PHCN staff gets for frustrating metering so they can continue to demand bribe for electricity that was not given and so could not have been consumed. |
OP is still a learner |
Who is Frank Edoho? What did he steal? |
So much storm in a tea cup. The OP's rumination is an inevitable part of the emotional struggle every married man has to face at some point. Remember that technically its not an affair if you use condom. So, make sure. |
One important issue I have with this write up is that it attempts to paint the problem in Nigerian colour. That cant be further from the truth. This is male prostit-utio-n by other names and it has been going on for as long as anyone can imagine. A woman who chooses to date an under-achieving male consort bc he has a baby face should expect no less. The guy is obviously finer than you. Everyone knows it. Deep inside, you know it. There is a price to pay for every desire. Dont forget there are other baby-faced women out there he can date. So he is also paying a price being with you. It will help not to see it as gold-digging but an unobtrusive means of just compensation. When an older man dates a younger girl and she professes her love, of course he cannot believe all she says. He is not bitter. She can "chop my money. . . . chop my money. . . . I dont care. . ." |
