Bro. you have hit the nail on the head! Let those who have ears, hear. I know some people do not like to hear the truth, but the truth is truth is the truth. It may not be "popular" or "liked", but the truth remains the truth.

I courted my wife for 4 years, and there was no sex until we got married. Almost 2 decades after, I have no regrets. Like you said, you will do and be tired of sex in marriage. Sex is worth waiting for.

I am a Chevening alumnus. Taking the Chevening slot is a lifetime opportunity. Apart from the exposure you will get, you will also have different job opportunities in Nigeria and outside. Moreover, you can also do your PhD when you finish your Masters. While doing PhD, you can lecture and even settle down in the UK academics. Chevening scholarship does open doors, if you know hot to pray, and be led by the Spirit of God. All the best bro.

DB can spin this around positively by paying the woman, even if they know they are not at fault. Such gesture will be applauded by the public, and win DB many customers. How much is N500k after all, to a bank that makes billions? They should put on their thinking cap.

The day Diezani steps into this country, that is the day she will go scot free. It is better to leave her in UK to face the music. One thing is certain: if she remains in the UK, and she is prosecuted there, she will go to jail. Just like Ibori. If she comes to Nigeria, nothing will happen to her.

I am happily married. I have been married for over 10 years and it is worth it. We have had our fair share of challenges, as every couple does, but by and large, marriage has been a good thing for me, my wife and our children. I will recommend it any day. The thing is that there are some things you need to know about marriage, which have helped us:

(1) Marry your friend. Don't marry someone you hardly know. Your spouse must be a friend.

(2) The two of you must share similar spiritual values.

(3) Trust is important. You must be faithful to each other. Since we got married, my wife and I have been faithful to each other. it has helped us to build trust. Stay faithful!

(4) Have a mentor. There should be someone who the two of you look up to as mentor and who can help resolve some small (sometimes big) disputes between the two of you. Such a person must be spiritual and must be someone you both respect.

This is my 2 cents!

Bets wishes.

Career / Re: How To Survive In The Oil And Gas Industry? by PepsiBoy: 3:59pm On Nov 24, 2015
@Madcow

I said in my comment that "In some cases, some contract employees, with specialized skills, earn more than regular employees"

In the IOC where I work, every employee, regular and contract, eat together, at the same time. There is no discrimination. I guess this depends on the internal policy of each organization.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am sure folks will have one or two things to learn that will be of help.

I work in the oil and gas industry and I can confirm to you that regular employees are not treated in the same way as contract employees. Regular employees are direct employees of the multinational companies. As such, their benefits and other compensatory packages are significantly different from those of contract employees. This is NOT discrimination per se.

Also, in most cases, the method of recruitment differs significantly. Most regular or direct employees of IOCs go through a very rigorous recruitment process, and recruitment is based strictly on merit (strong academic qualification, aptitude test, skill test, interviews). The standard for recruiting contract employees is not the same. As a matter of fact, contract employees are recruited by third party contractors, and often, most (not all) contract employees usually do not meet the criteria set for direct recruitment by the IOCs. I must say though that there are some contract employees who are better qualified and more competent than regular employees, but they are somewhat unlucky.

The above notwithstanding, contract employees who work in most IOCs are treated well, even though their compensation is nothing close to what the regular employees get. On the average, depending on the department, and company, a contract employee gets something between 200k and 350k per month.

Contract employees enjoy free lunch, have access to bus service to and from work daily, and a few other benefits. A regular employee cannot look down on a contract employee or harass a contract employee. Doing so will attract appropriate sanctions, including dismissal. The IOCs generally treat contract employees as their own staff, except in terms of remuneration and other benefits. There is no discrimination.

In some cases, some contract employees, with specialized skills, earn more than regular employees.

A contract employee who works hard and distinguishes himself will eventually have his opportunity for conversion or successfully go through the stringent recruitment process.

I hope this has helped clarify issues?

NFF is grand-standing for nothing. I see ego at play. NFF is causing very serious problems for Nigerian football with their immaturity. How does sacking Keshi help move our football forward? How will a ban on Enyeama help Super Eagles reclaim its pride of place in world football? NFF itself should be sacked!

Enyeama expressed concern about the choice of Kaduna, and that has become a crime. Nonsense!!! NFF should treat the players with respect. Enyeama and Keshi started serving Nigeria before most of those in NFF knew how to count "ABC". It's a shame that we treat our senior players badly.

Education / The Rot In The Budget by PepsiBoy: 4:06pm On Jun 03, 2015
Find below the allocation to some organizations in the 2015 FG Budget:
• University of Ibadan - N13.1 bn
• University of Lagos- N10.93 bn
• University of Nigeria Nsukka - N12.77 bn
• Ahmadu Bello University - N14.43 bn
• Obafemi Awolowo University -N10.6 bn
• University of Otuoke - N2.27 bn
• The National assembly - N115 bn
(Data Source: @BudgITng)
And you wonder why out Universities aren’t working?
And you wonder why the NASS ( with about 5, 000 staff and less than 1, 000 legislators) gets about twice more allocation that UI, Unilag, UNN, ABU and OAU combined?
It’s just callous for our budgetary system to allow for this. Its connivance for citizens to be silent on this.
Thanks

This is not about ethnicity. It is about the future of Nigeria and holding public office holders accountable. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala cannot excuse herself from the economic rot that Nigeria is in. She was the leader of the economic team. The buck stops at her table.
Education / Re: Yale University: Withdraw The Honorary Doctorate Degree Given To Ngozi Iweala Of by PepsiBoy: 1:05pm On May 21, 2015
My Letter sent to Yale University:-

It was with deep regret and sadness that most Nigerians read about the honorary doctoral award given to Nogozi Okonjo Iweala by Yale University this week. It was a serious misjudgment of the credentials of the awardee.

Ngozi has served as the Coordinating Minister for the Nigerian economy for many years, yet Nigerian economy lies postrate today. Nigerian economy is at its lowest ebb. Ngozi has simply ran the economy aground. She is leaving the economy in a far worse state than she met it.

Ngozi's name has been smeared in several corruption incidents in Nigeria. The first one being the missing US$20 Billion which was reported by the former Governor of Nigerian Central Bank. The money remains unaccounted for and Ngozi has not provided any credible response to the charges.

Ngozi purportedly authorized a "forensic audit" carried out by PWC. The PWC in its report claimed that the CBN, which is under Ngozi's portfolio, and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), which is under the Minister of Petroleum Resources refused to cooperate with the auditors. At the end of the day, the auditors were frustrated and reported that they saw only US$1 Billion unaccounted for. They issued a huge disclaimer in the audit report stating clearly that the report should not be relied upon because they did not have access to all the data they requested for. Ngozi had the effrontery to appear on National television and claim that the forensic auditors have exonerated her by saying that only US$1 Billion was missing. She did not disclose the fact that both CBN and NPDC did not cooperate with the auditors. She tried to deceive Nigerians, but she was exposed when President Goodluck Jonathan was defeated in the polls last March.

In any event, how can US$1 Billion be missing under Ngozi's watch. In saner climes, she would be rotting in jail. Because she participated in the huge corruption that goes on in Nigeria, she was able to escape prosecution.

It is against this backdrop that a lot of Nigerians saw the honor from Yale as mis-timed and represents an endorsement of a woman tainted in corruption and crass incompetence.

I urge you to please investigate these claims. You can start by asking PWC for the report. The award to Ngozi should be withdrawn in order to protect the reputation of your esteemed institution.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Top Salaries In Nigeria: Best Paying Companies by PepsiBoy: 6:56pm On May 05, 2015
I can tell you for a fact that Oil and Gas companies pay very well. I know because I work in an IOC. The companies that pay most are Total, ExxonMobil, Chevron and Shell. The Oil Servicing companies like Schlumberger and Baker Hughes also pay well. Then the Telecom companies pay well too.

To enter these companies, you need to do well academically and have very useful/relevant experience. The people who work there don't have 2 heads. They are human being like you. The only difference is that they worked hard in school and prepared themselves for their opportunities.

For those of you in school, please study well. Try and be the best you can be, and come out with a very good degree - a First Class or a Second Class Upper. This is the foundation that you need to get into these type of places.

Secondly, don't be afraid to start small. I started small, but today, I am in an IOC, and I have been here for about 8 years. Dream and work towards your dream.

Thirdly, pray. Only God can bring you into these type of places. The favor of God makes all the difference.

Don't think that you need to know someone to get into an IOC. For Nigerian companies, maybe you need to know someone, but for the IOCs, please know that you do not need to know anybody. I got in without knowing anybody. I saw an advert in the newspaper, I applied, and I was invited for interview. The rest is history.

Bottomline, work hard, dream big, prepare for your opportunity, pray.

All the best!

Politics / Re: Sticky Tales Around Diezani by PepsiBoy: 12:02pm On Apr 30, 2015
The OP is a Diezani apologist. Nigerians cannot be fooled any more. PWC could not carry out a proper forensic audit. They were frustrated by the goons of Diezani and Okonjo-Iweala. With all the qualifications inserted in the audit report by PWC, Okonjo-Iweala dared to deceive Nigerians by calling the report a "forensic audit report". If she was sincere and honest, the qualifications made by PWC in the report were more than enough for her to know that the report was not conclusive. She never knew that report would be out.

If Jonathan had won, nobody would have known how deceptive and dishonest these government people are, especially Diezani and Okonjo-Iweala. They would have cleverly swept everything under carpet and claim that a "forensic audit" exonerated them. Nobody would have known about the qualifications made by PWC.

It is because Buhari defeated Jonathan that the report suddenly came out in the public and people saw how PWC were frustrated by NPDC (under Diezani's control) and CBN (under Okonjo-Iweala's control).

Diezani and Okonjo-Iweala have questions to answer, and they should be prosecuted and sent to jail if found guilty.

Story for the gods.
The so called "forensic audit" is a sham. NPDC and CBN refused to cooperate with the auditors. Why couldn't Diezani, as Minister of Petroleum, and Okonjo-Iweala, as Minister of Finance, compel both entities, who are under their respective control, to cooperate with PWC. Both Diezani and Okonjo-Iweala have questions to answer. They have skeletons in their cupboard and have been less than transparent in their dealings.

Religion / Re: What Are Benefits Of Being A Member Of The AMORC? by PepsiBoy: 11:23am On Mar 29, 2015
I agree totally that "knowledge" is relative. What "knowledge" is a man looking for again beyond what is already known. If it science, or literature or other forms of human study, I agree that "knowledge" can be pursued. However, to go into the realms of mysticism or occult to find "knowledge" is looking for trouble. Usually, those who go into fraternities do so looking for "power" or/and "knowledge" or/and "control". It is the allure of these things that draw them such things as Ogboni, AMORC, Freemason, etc. It is the same thing that lead students into cultism in schools and outside of school. We are all witnesses of the evil that cultism has wreaked in schools. The likes of AMORC, Ogboni, Freemason, etc are "adult versions" of cultism. They do not engage in physical violence, but they engage in practices that mortgage their spiritual independence.

Bros. I know for a fact that AMORC is a spiritual/philosophical cult. It is a mystical society. It is a fraternity. Adherents may claim otherwise and raise all sorts of juicy arguments to contest this. However, whatever is done in secret cannot be godly. It is like Ogboni or Freemason or Scientology. Their foundation is not God. Please don't venture into it before you find yourself entangled in what you will regret for life. I knew a guy who was a member, and he lived a sorry life. Bros, please run. However, if you open your eyes and run into a ditch, you will not say you were not warned. This is my 2 pence advice.

Career / Achieving Your Goals In 2015 by PepsiBoy: 12:55pm On Jan 20, 2015
As 2015 begins its steady progress towards December, it is important to share a few things on I think you can work towards achieving your goals:

VISION:- Have a vision of what your goals are this year. Being without vision is worse than being without sight. Have a goal in sight; I mean, a laudable and honorable goal. A goal that will make you better and live a more fulfilling life.

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF:- Believe in your God-given abilities to become all you are destined to be. You are not worthless. There is something immensely valuable in your life. Identify it and let it drive. Hold your head up high because greatness lives on the inside of you.

FAITH IN GOD:- Have faith in God! Trust in His love and ability to give you the miracle that you need.

WORK:- Let your faith push you in the direction of your dreams. Act on your faith.

FOCUS:- Don't be distracted. Cut-off friends who do not add any value to your life. You have the choice to determine who stays in your life. Use that choice to your own advantage. Embrace value-adding friends; friends who support your vision; friends who encourage you; friends who believe in you. Focus on your goals.

PERSEVERE:- When things don't happen as fast as you want, never quit or give up. Stay there and keep trying. Patience is critical in seeing your dreams come to pass.

I wish you all the best.

Family / Re: Separation Is Imminent In My Marriage. by PepsiBoy: 8:55pm On Jan 04, 2015
Sorry for your predicament bro. We always tell people to consult God before getting married. Secondly, you must have seen quite a lot of the bad behavior your wife is now exhibiting, but you must have thought that "you would change her" once you guys got married. The truth is "what you see is what you get". Nobody can change anybody in marriage. This is a hard lesson for all those who make critical decisions without involving God and rather, relying on their smartness or feelings.

Please ask involve a marriage counselor or your pastor to mediate in this situation. It is bad but not totally irredeemable. The situation can still be remedied, but you will need to involve either your pastor or a marriage counselor.

I wish you the best bro.
