Family / Re: Why Fathers Are Neglected In Old Age. ( A Must Read For Guys) by peren: 10:04am On May 23, 2017
This is soo true and on point! i only love my dad because my mother loves him. Am sure he wonders now how my mother get daily calls from all her children n only call him when there is one issue or the other. I hardly even ever call.

Young dads should really learn and take a que from this article.

are you kidding... a wild animal that is meant for the wild is presented to an oba as a mark of respect. This is Babarism at its peak

I think it is also barbaric that you expect an animal to be in a zoo and not its natural habitat .

Programming / How Do You Feel About This New Google Naija In Pidgin English by peren: 9:47am On Nov 11, 2016
I recently noticed the new Google Naija, where everything is described in pidgin English, I am not quite sure how it makes me feel. It is confusing some times, because no one writes pidgin English we only speak it, and still there are some people who do not know how to speak it talk less of reading it. I also think it may confuse children, and new learners of English, at the same time Pidgin is actually the only language that's ours(Nigerian) that everyone in the country can relate to. Am I alone in this confused feeling? What do you guys think about it.

And yes I know there is the option of changing language, but it seems like what comes up by default on my computer.

I have a job and i can afford my own place, for cultural and family reasons i choose to stay with my sister. However my own brother in law askes me to wash his car, my father, my brothers, my unlces have never asked me to do such a thing before, i do not even always enter the car, even though i was deeply hurt i did it, and would do what ever they ask. I however would not forget, when the time is right or when i am ready i would leave their house for them.

That airport is a disgrace. What of the fact that you have to dish our 500 naira to use a trolley. Something that is free everywhere else in the world. This country should be sold to China and the money shared for everyone. Useless country.

The trolley cost 150 the last time i was at the airport, and in fairness i paid $6 at JFK for a trolley too. So it is not free everywhere else in the world.

Business / Who Can I Report My Bank To, For Debiting My Account Without My Consent? by peren: 12:49pm On Dec 18, 2015
Dear NL,

I made a transaction online with my Firstbank card for a certain amount and a different(larger amount) was finally debited from my account. after months of complaint they explain to me that the initial amount(on the transaction receipt) was less than the FX and they were making a loss so they returned that amount to my account and debited a different amount from me( more than 30k difference).

I think this is fraudulent and I would like to know if there is any organization, maybe like the CBN who I can actually report this to.

Politics / Re: Buhari Withdraws Diplomatic, Official Passports From Ex- Governors by peren: 9:33am On Sep 08, 2015
But there is an easier way, All passports have an expiry date, simply map the expiry date of the passport to the end of their tenures. Simple. It also helps them remember that this too will end.

Your best bet would be to renew your passport before you go for your interview.
As the 32 page Passport is now extremely scarce, you may want to do the 64-page one. You can do it yourself, which would take forever or you can use an agent. Costs about 35-38,000.

Thanks for the info!

Snazzygirl:

It's too early to renew your passport. You have to wait till next month, because you can only renew passports that will expire in 6months or less. Go to immigration office next month, and ask to renew your passport. Are you in Lagos? I might be able to help. I advise u to renew your passport before you go to the embassy.

Thanks i appreciate! However i am not in lagos. i would go to the immigration office here in my state.

Hello all,

Pls i am applying for a student visa, its a short course in the US, my passport will expire in march 2016, my course starts in oct-nov. i don't really know the process of renewing my passport and i fear it would be a long process, and my visa interview is at the end of this month. Wud this be enough reason not to grant me visa? what wud be my best course of action?
