Almaiga:As things stand, at least 23 more Nigerians, according to TheNation, are destined to suffer Afolabi's fate, having been convicted for flouting the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Control Law, issued under Royal Decree No. M/39 dated 8/7/1428AH, which is punishable by death. There has been so much public uproar condemning both the Nigerian and Saudi Arabian governments after the execution of a Nigerian woman, Kudirat Adeshola Afolabi, who was found guilty of drug trafficking. While Nigerians insisted Afolabi was only a victim of drug syndicate group at Nigerian airports, both governments maintained she was actually guilty of the crime. Following Afolabi's execution, it was revealed that another Nigerian, Saheed Sobade, was facing the prospect of death in Saudi Arabia after being nabbed with 1,183 grams of cocaine powder in Jeddah, a Saudi Arabian port city on the Red Sea and gateway for pilgrimages to the Islamic holy cities Mecca and Medina. The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria responded to widespread criticism of Afolabi's execution by insisting that all legal and judicial procedures were observed. "It is well-known for all those interested in travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that the penalty for drug trafficking is the death sentence and the said sentence is applied on all persons convicted without any exceptions, as long as the evidence is established against them, and this is conveyed to every person prior to his trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," it said. As things stand, at least 23 more Nigerians, according to TheNation, are destined to suffer Afolabi's fate, having been convicted for flouting the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Control Law, issued under Royal Decree No. M/39 dated 8/7/1428AH, which is punishable by death. They were arrested between 2016 and 2017 at the King Abdul-Aziz International Airport, Jeddah and Prince Muhammad bin Abdu- Aziz International Airport, Madinah. He should be more concerned about winning souls to Christ. Praying for the dead or not is not the determinant to heaven rather ones relationship with God. He should be more concerned of that. Let them preach more about the kingdom of God. |
mastermaestro:Mind you, the man did not leave the church on his own rather The priest told him to him. Well except the story is incomplete |
elkharpone:Some of them are just too proud for my liking |
Paulpaulpaul:But not in that way nah. Me personally, I don't like sitting at the front sit. The priest no try at all |
Every disappointment is a blessing. What if he drives the car and involves himself in a terrible accident. |
Heartbender:Not why does, it's really a snake. Only God knows the motive behind that. Really looks scary |
Enemyofpeace:Well, Rashidi Yekini, probably! But the likes of Okocha, KANU And Mikel..... Nawaoooo. |
asuustrike1:We will definitely not say anything. We just like minding our business. Saying what we have no knowledge off is not in our blood. I wouldn't blame them. If we were being born into CAC family, it will definitely be a normal thing. My problem with all these Pentecostal is the way they bash at Catholics knowing fully well that they are also guilty of the same thing. Or how would you express the attitude of some members worshipping their G.O sit or using their picture in their cars and home and seeing the same people turning against Catholics for using pictures of the saints. Abegi !!!! |
TVSA:You dey mind them. Hypocrisy at it's best |
AmazingELixir:Hmmm! I love this mathematical equation. |

Jackflask: eazysally: eazysally:. Well I don't know what to say cos it all happened in my presence. went to Ajaokuta to supply goods to a customer. Getting to the Asco Bump,(where they used to fry yam and akara), there was a hold up caused by one mopol and the SSA ( Senior special advicer to the governor) and his group. we came there and met them quarrelling but could not ascertain what was the cause. All we knew was that a road leading to Ajaokuta steel coy was blocked- that I guessed was their reason for the quarrel. I went to the traffic warder to beg for his approval to allow us to pass which he agreed. Meanwhile, I over heard one of the group shouting to the policeman. "Do you know who he is, he is the SSA to the governor. you are following us today '' and all manner of insult. I turned to go and call the driver to bring the bus since they have allowed us to pass. My dear, the next thing I heard was shout from the onlookers. see Ojima, the dead guy dragging the gun with the policeman. Before I knew what was happening, it was a gun shot. As both were dragging the gun, the policeman shot the gun on the ground 2times but the guy(Ojima) refused to let go before the police now shot him and he dropped immediately. it was after this, that I heard that it was Ojima that wanted to collect the gun. like I said earlier, I was going to call my driver so i didn't know what was happening behind me. I came back screaming that they should take him to the nearest hospital which they did but I learnt he died before reaching the hospital. My question is, Why dragging a gun with a force man in the first place and if you were the force man, what would you have done in that situation . This kind of death should have been averted only if there was a little Patience btw the parties. May his soul rest in Peace. Amen |
