Flets:The problem is not for the oil and gas industry only but Nigeria as a whole. Unfortunately Buhari has set no direction for the economy and the delays so far has injected higher uncertainty in the business environment. Expect service companies to shed more staff cos there is nothing to service. Nigeria needs serious clean up, stringent aherence to laid down rules of business engagement. This is the direction the president is walking the country, away from the norm that has brought nothing but poverty, agony as a result of economic mismanagement. Many countries have been through this before us, lets also make that sacrifice so that things could change for the better. As for the lull in global oil trade, i see further fall in oil price, subsequently OPEC would have to shift its position and this will bring decent level of stability before the year ends. |
Offensive, Offensive, Offensive. Thats the way to go. Kudos to the nigerian army. When the vermins are tired of running, they will have to surrender or die fighting. |
Nigerians are very quick at abusing any act of sympathy immediate gain. This is why things that work elsewhere is most likely not going to work in nigeria. Nigerians have abused vitually anything you can think of, including the internet. Nigerians, what exactly is us? Why are we so different? |
naijainfogalery:My thought too. Helping out these days can easily put one in trouble. |
Henry120:This is approach to fighting insurgency is highly welcome. These bikes would drive side by side with the mowags and APCs to pursue fleeing terrorists. Our best bet is to approach the countries with history of hot desert pursuit like jordanian military, and involve the russians too as they will be sure to deliver these tools at a good price, going by our not too good military relationship with the americans at the moment.

Thos bomb making components keep popping up in every picture of botched sucide attack. Wherever those materials are coming from, there should be a temporary ban on their general use. Any individual or company found to still use those components for industrial purpose should be arrest on ground of suspicion. This will force BH to continue to restrategise and ultimately get frustrated. I just hope the authorities look into this. |
Marvellous job by the NA. This present tempo must be sustained at all fronts, amnesty or not. The only language terrorists understand is force, give them room and they find a way of re-arming and launch attacks. At this rate, BH should be totally subdued before the end of the year. |
Those cadet's action simply represent the mentality and peronality of an average nigerian towards a fellow nigeria. Reckless abuse of power by some officers is not limited to our security agencies alone, we civillians in our own little and subconscious mind also display such attitudes. Motorists threaten heaven and earth over minor treaffic skirmishes, individuals who are well to do utter words of threat against security men at posts for requesting simple identification, senior civil servants threatening to deal with a surbodinate instead of allowing the civil service code of conduct take its course. Its just a reflection of what we as a people have become. |
The love of money and power is driving the world crazy. |
Nigeria needs a viable opposition party with a brain and a sense of direction. PDP is far spent and lack purpose. 16 years of undeserved political dominance did a lot of damage to its foundation. The party was not built for an opposition status. They lost it a long time ago, now they just realised it and its too late to make amends. The party is like an obese patient that is fighting cancer. PDP, where did you get it wrong. Who will save this sinking ship? |
So long as the military intensifies its offensive attacks on boko haram stronghold, PMB can hold meetings with both Boko haram and ISIS, that isnt my problem. BH is ran by murderous scammers and i hope the president is smart enough to outsmart them at their game. BH knew from the onset that they were embarking on a terror campaign they can never win, so they had to kidnap the chibok girls as a bargaining chip when the heat becomes overbearing. Would BH be honouring any negotiation if they were capturing more territories with ease? The armed forces should intensify their campaigns, as the vermins are already caving under pressure. |
Life itself is a school in process. Life is fluid, dynamic and constantly changing. A degree whether first class or last class does not shape the society we live in. A first class studentmust be a changer, an innovator. A degree is terminal in nature, but life in itself is not, except you die. Theories and formulas have always been disputed and redefined to suit the challenges of life while the degree is as best a claim of academic excellence. Life doesnt issue certificate of recommendation like the degree does cause life is what you make of it. |
bidexiii:Third picture. BH vermins heavily depend on nigerias communication facilities to communicate. The base stations around the war fronts already have intelligent information as every communication equipment has some form of logs that the military can use to track their accomplices and determine their most probable next line of action. My narrow minded opinion though. |
PassingShot:Why bother preach to some unrepentant GEJ apologists. They still havent gotten over the last election. In fact, some still think GEJ will head to court. Lol |
Symphony007:Are you for real? You must be high on gay porn. Put a gun to your head and end your misery, now. |
Tolexander:Please, ignore such comments. His utterances bears as much hatred as the dreaded boko haram carries. |
Spectranet always on my mind. |
Op, so you think your case is worse, wait till u cross the road then you would realise how stupid you are to have commited sucide. A friend of mine back in school gained admission at the age of 28 years, caught cheating during final exams and was suspended for a year, spilled twice and finally graduated at the age of 34 yrs. He was lectured by his course mates who were retained by the department, took lectures with his very juniors. Then i felt sorry for him, but now i dont becos my guy now works with a ocean going oil exploration company as a geo-technician in scandanavia. He earns over 5 million naira a month. Op, if u like go ahead with your plan, u will only be one of the foolish who have chickened out or brace up and see life beyond the school wall. Life is for the brave and not the chicken hearted. Choose between the two. |
Whats wrong with publishing names in this country? Is NNPC a person, if its not, then please publish the names of those who have benefitted from this plunder. The last time we had this was when abacha died. Back in 1999, TELL magazine would roll out names of individuals, amount stolen and account numbers offshore and onshore. These days, its all secrecy and deceit. Please.... |
Utchgirl:Exactly. A responsible govt will honour his promise and let the region move on. Buhari should please see to it that all developmental projects put in place by the last administration to rehabilitate the agitators in that region are implemented to the latter. Nigeria has the resources, why fan another flame when you are yet to douse the other. Yielding to their demands is not a sign of weakness but a sign of commitment to a vision driven governance. |
The senator says''i agree with president muhammadu buhari that boko haram must be destroyed but not with american weapon, mr president, here is tens of millions of dollars, see if u can bribe boko haram to submission. Americans are the most two faced people on earth. An average american reasons with his balls, hold them by the balls and they will sell their citizenship.Americans dont like beggars, they like ballers. PMB has just learnt the hard way. You dont put all ur egg in a basket. |
Fulaman198:They say whoever plays the pipe dictates the tune. If nigeria of all countries goes ahead to adopt a higher encryption algorithym standard and most hardwares dont support them due to american standard regulatory bodies, aint we going to put ourselves in a tight corner. I am not sure nigeria produces any of these hardwares. About three years ago, an isreali company designed a encryption software for an offshore bank in the US, this was at the height of terror attacks against american allies. The Fbi traced some of the terror sponsored accounts but were unable to decrypt the encryption algorithym behind the softwares. Since then, encryption and industrial application of cryptography has been subjected to tight regulatory framework by the US govt. Cryptography standard used for ICT infrastructures in itself is an entity of the united states through the Federal Information Processing Standard FIPS. They own majority share of the hardware market, they designed the internet as it is, so they control what goes in and out. |
baba11:I think u are right, with companies investing in solutions that allow them run their ICT tasks at lower cost, there are likely going to be more job loss in the future. Card payment processing, PBX, Network managents are all software based these days. Cyber security and database management is the hot potato of the future. My narrow minded opinion. |
ISIS final days are drawing nearer as turkish govt carried out aerial attacks on isil positions in syria following a deadly attack that killed dozens of turkish citizens this week. The turkish govt has also given a go ahead for the US establishment of an airbase around the turkish-syria border. www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/07/turkish-army-hits-isil-syria-shooting-150723140621321.html |
I think its high time MEND metamorphose into a geo political organization that will seek to help improve the well being of the average niger deltan instead of taking up arms at the peril of the youths. |
Promotion and reward is not good enough. If the invention is good enough, the police should invest in its production and use. Our leaders ehn... |
Op, why make things difficult when technology makes things easier these days. Adopt technology full scale and quit whining, its annoying Please... |
yang:FYI, mmost of those that died are rich enough to pay nigeria families social security. They have made billions from this illicit trade, but greed will not let them turn away from the act. Most of the elements who carry out these acts are cultists, hardened motor park touts, disengaged riverine militants and retired military men. The routes are well known, shimawa, magboro, arepo all through the swamps to ikorodu. Bunkering is a way of life in these communities. Go there and see for yourself. |
Whats the essence of a beautiful city when the inhabitants dont want to live in peace. Jos, the city i once loved so dearly... |
paulsir:If he visits a mining site, he would realise the devatating impact these local bombs can make. Local bomb or international bomb, u dont want to be found toying with any. |
with these sucesses, security agencies just need to build on these to unravel more bomb factories. If a particular bomb making material like ammonium phosphate keeps surfacing, draw a long list of likely buyers and companies making use of these e.g mining companies, suspend its use in the NE and encourage other alternatives or better still suspend their activities. There should be aregional clean out, look out for importations from over the border. This will force BH to look for alternatives, therefore frustrating their effort. EVD(explosive vapour detectors could be used in seeking out these materials. Police forensic experts and bomb disposal unit should be good at this |
