I have always seen them imbedded into the wall and plastered. Thx.

Yes if building is at block form work stage. Or better still, the client is willing to pay for the plastering and redressing after tape has been buried in wall.

Solar inverters are a necessity in Nigeria because of the epileptic power situation in the country. Nigerians have found solace in solar inverters as it provides a viable alternative to the unreliabe services of power distribution companies.

Like everything invention, it comes with its own drawbacks. Solar battery are made with lithium ores and can be unstable when toouch voltage current passes through it. 40,000 volts induced current from a lightning strike can cause a lithium battery damage and a n some severe case explosions can't be ruled out.

Very, very possible!!!

Well they do plan (and have gotten approval) to double the number of satellites in the coming years. Time would tell if the planned increases along the line (more than 42,000 satellites) would suffice.
Admittedly they do state that their target market is not everyone, just those in rural areas.

Yes, he's getting approval to launch more satellites. There are concerns over the lifespan and debris these objects leave in space after decommissioning. This is something that the space exploration community has raised concerns over.

LEO geostationary satellites are cheaper to manufacture on the short term but the cost implications are cumulative and are going to be disastrous in the long run.

As for data throughput, they don't scale very as demand continues to mount. That theory of specifically targeting the rural area is disputable.

rookidmart:
This is nice.

My quote in the linked thread refers:

If they're pricing in naira at official rates then although the setup fee is more expensive than contemporary fiber offerings (ipnx, fiberone, et al.), the value is in reliability and cheaper internet.

The speedtest screenshot above suggests >200mbps for ~₦19k which the competitors do not offer.
Fiberone and Ipnx both max out at 152Mbps and 150Mbps for ₦66,750 and ₦62,350 respectively.

It is worthy to note that Ipnx offers Gigabit internet (1000mbps) under its FOS Xtreme plans (FOS extreme 1000) but that would set you back ₦268,750 monthly, which is basically the one-time cost of the Starlink hardware.

If Starlink can prove its mettle by offering consistently fast internet (per Elon Musk, planned speed is 10gbps) at these relatively low prices, and resilience in bad weather conditions then it is poised to take over the market.

A death knell for traditional fiber offerings would be if Starlink offered a way to pay for the hardware costs in installments from your monthly subscription fee.

Wait till everyone joins the wagon and all that early excitement starts to fade away. Satellite datalinks are not optimisted for heavy traffic.

Space X will need to put more satellites in orbit in order to accommodate more customers and maintain user experience. This is where satellite business model flops
