Pass the PIB bill and allow other investors build more modular refineries. The setup is to subsidize crude that Dangote refinery will get for refining. A level playing field is required in this new birth. If you will subsidize for Dangote, then be ready to subsidize for all the stakeholders in the industry.
The cement hijack will not be tolerated in this industry |

All of this epistle because of cow grazing. Is it only cow grazing that the northerners in the south are into? Millions of Northerners are into all forms of business and doing well for themselves in the south just like the southerners in the North. These Northern leadership have nothing to offer their people but retrogression. |

Plut01: .
And your last line, If all out war is to break out, Putin has the materials to tame Israel but an all out war does no one any good, not even you nor me. However, Putin and Russia have deep connection with Israel than with any Arab. No matter how stubborn Israel is, Russia can never do much to hurt Israel (unless they want to mock the US) as Russia fighting Israel will be like a senior Brother fighting his stubborn but successful little brother.
And yes, Putin knows what an Islamist van do. He has them causing trouble in his country.
. The only nation Russia cares about in the Arab region is Syria. Syria is so strategic for policy and economic reasons. As for turkey, after they made public embarrasment of their missile defence systems in the Azerbaijan Vs Armenia war, the russians will lure them into a fight against the Israeli and watch as the Israelis will make a meal out of their drone warfare. The suicide drones hamas imported from Iran is already been plugged from the sky by Israeli F16 jets. This is not Azerbaijan/Armenia war. The Turks will live to regret this as the Americans and western Europe too will see it as an opportunity to put Erdogan where he belongs |

bastardson: You really think that MTN , Glo and NCC will make this succeed ? Forget it Sir The market is already segmegated. Telcos offer mobile broadband service while SpaceX is offering fixed broadband. Though the telcos have the edge of also offering fixed services thereby competing in that market, it's not their core. Moreover running both services on one infrastructure tends to be a stain on the telcos available bandwidth. SpaceX will do a better job with fixed services |
Phones › Re: SpaceX In Talks With NCC To Bring Satellite-Based Broadband Internet To Nigeria by persius555(m): 7:20am On May 11, 2021 |
MemoriesAndMe: Thanks for pointing this out. Im not a satellite professional and may lack the full knowledge of what differentiates one satellite from the other. I'd think much of the work is around getting the satellite from earth into space. I'd also think the satellites can be upgraded while in space to keep up with current technological trends, which should fall under maintenance.
I may be wrong, but I do not think new satellites need to be launched each time a technological breakthrough emerges - there has to be a way to upgrade existing satellites to keep up with the technological pace, especially knowing that many countries have only one satellite and make optimum use of it while some cant even afford to have one. You're absolutely right about the ubiquitous launch of artificial satellites. They pose their own hazards and distortion. Astronomers are in condemnation of this practice. The continued evolution of data technologies demands newer and better technology that the classic satellite technologies can't offer. They require low latency data communication between nodes and ground stations. Our NIGCOMSAT is geostationary, much costlier to maintain, has good footprint over Africa, Asia and some parts of Europe but in terms in latency, they don't stand a chance with constellation satellites that offer below 30ms compared to 150ms delay (operate at 1/60 of classic GEO satellites). A good example of Constellation satellites are the GPS and glonass. They're a family of satellites in LEO and MEO ( low and middle earth orbit), cheaper to maintain and offer better redundancy |
Phones › Re: SpaceX In Talks With NCC To Bring Satellite-Based Broadband Internet To Nigeria by persius555(m): 5:38am On May 11, 2021 |
MemoriesAndMe: If anyone has taken their time to research on NIGCOMSAT, he or she should be able to confirm that Nigeria has a big problem centered around wastages or unnecessary spendings. The poor maintenance culture adds to the problems.
Nigeria has a satellite in the orbits called NIGCOMSAT-1. Im sure not many know Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world privileged to achieve that feat. It was sent into space in 2006 and its not being used for anything as of yet. It was just sent there and forgotten about.
Its capabilities include what SpaceX is trying to sell to us now because they maintain and utilize their satellites while we sent ours there for prowess and its still there in space gathering dust.
Thats a potential means of employment for many and source of revenue for the government. This falls under the ministry of communications.
I guess this ministry doesn't know Nigeria already invested billions in this project already and doesn't know how to translate the investment into revenue.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIGCOMSAT What SpaceX offers is far better than NIGCOMSAT. Three constellation satellites at low earth orbit, internet powered by laser transponders. This is the real deal. NIGCOMSAT already outsourced all their satellite transponders to foreign carriers. The staff are mere consultant and rent seekers |
