PoliticsRe: See The Price Of Fuel In All Neighboring Nigerian Countries by persius555(m): 8:44am On Dec 20, 2020
jumper524:
that's the point.
Ecowas is feeding fat on Nigeria fuel.
I was born in lagos(badagry to be precise) left there 2010.
though I was much younger.
just yesterday I was telling my dad about how Nigeria is loosing heavily to fuel subsidy and he opened up to me that I was much younger when we were in badagry, otherwise I would have experienced first hand the massive fuel exportation going on to benin republic.
note badagry boders benin republic.
The amount of fuel consumed in these neighboring countries is very insignificant to how much we consume. If we consume 9 million litres a day, i doubt 100,000 litres crosses over the border. These countries are dirt poor in GDP compared to Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Lawal Saidu: I Saw 1,000 Bandits With AK-47 Rifles, Some Under Influence Of Drug by persius555(m): 8:37am On Dec 20, 2020
There is one thing i deduce from this interview and that is "There is no such thing as bandits". It is the usual farmers and herders clash. It seems the governments in that region are sympathetic to the armed herders cause.

See the way Fulani names are popping up, here and there. Can we say banditry is exclusive to Fulani's alone.

PoliticsRe: See The Price Of Fuel In All Neighboring Nigerian Countries by persius555(m):
Will the price change if Nigeria starts refining it's crude? Because your neighbors sell fuel for 500 naira, is there any justification for you too follow suit?

The market dynamics differ. Maybe our neighbors should buy from Saudi Arabia since fuel is cheaper there.

TF grin

You are absolutely wrong to think CBN is doing this to favor those receiving money from abroad
The CBN is trying to cut the IMTOs naira profit down and hence move the gain to the BDCs. This in no time will ensure a saturation of dollar with the bureau de change and thereby forcing the exchange rates down. But the gain will only be temporary as the festive period is here.

What happens when demand picks up after the yuletide season is over? Importers will definitely search for more dollars on the street and drive demand again. Will the CBN have the reserve to defend the demand?

Well, the Europa thing is clearly what has kept Arteta in the job... Or maybe Kroenke is just plain sadistic.
Kroenke na typical American. They think the world revolves around them. By the time the team relegates, he will board the next train to LA to watch his RAMs play American football. I hate it when American billionaires think anything they cant own deserves to be destroyed. To this guy, Arsenal is just another acquisition.

Emekaonline:
Obviously you are one of the many educated lowlife illiterates we have on this forum. No one is disputing the fact that he graduated from the UI. But the question he needs to answer is how did he enter UI with just 3 credits without English and Mathematics? And if he he has A level result, let him supply it or is it difficult for you and your Obasek to do that? The fact that many of your generation got admission to universities fraudulently, does not mean you should go scot-free when you are found out even many years after you have graduated. Do you get that?
Pastor Ize Iyamu, come and see one of the agents the devil has sent to raise and dash your hope. As porous as Nigeria's federal universities are, the last thing you will get away with is your O or A level Credit forgery. Your tiny brain should remind you that every university undergraduate undergoes this result screening at least three times before and just before graduation.

Obviously you are alien not to remember that the error in his name spelling corrected with an apology to go with by the A level issuing body. Do a reformat of that box in your skull. After this, you will definitely thank me cause that box you call a brain needs some good hard knock.

These guys are bureaucratic fraudsters conniving with telecos and other private companies to defraud Nigerians.

I just used the *346# used code to check for my status. After charging 20 naira, nothing came up and asked to visit a NIN centre to retrieve NIN that has been connected to my SIM number since 2014.

My NIN registration already paired with both NIN number and my phone number, what exactly am I suppose to confirm again.
That minister of communication looks and behaves like an E-goa$t. Patami or whatever he calls himself behaves like he knows it all, only to end up making a mockery of the office he occupies.
PoliticsRe: Edo 2020: Obaseki Loses As Appeal Court Tells Him He Has A Case To Answer by persius555(m): 1:29pm On Dec 16, 2020
APC government wants to set Edo on fire. An election they lost in the full glare of the whole world. Now, they want to hijack a mandate by resulting to frivolous courts to decide the faith of a whole state.

It is only in this government that the court wants to decide who issues graduating certificate.

They will meet their match
PoliticsRe: China Approves Loan For $2.6 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline by persius555(m): 9:18am On Dec 16, 2020
obailala:
You want to transport gas via rail, compressed and liquefied gas? In Nigeria?.... no my brother, you arent killing 2 birds with one stone, rather you're killing 1000 humans with one articulated bomb.

Even putting safety aside, rail or road are the most inefficient means of transporting gas; rather than making prudent use of resources as you think, you would be wasting resources by doing that. Rail or road or even ocean vessel transport of gas only become useful when its absolutely impractical to construct a pipeline.

Cc: persius555
You will make a better engineer than an economist. How many times have LNG transported by rail involved in accidents? This project is just another egocentric mission laced with emotions and no financial objectivity.
PoliticsRe: China Approves Loan For $2.6 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline by persius555(m): 8:28am On Dec 16, 2020
idealogical:
Again, we don't have enough safety profile like the US to do surface gas transportation like rail transportation of flammable gas.

We currently transport gas overseas via ships, but we don't need ships to transport gas within Nigeria or to North African destinations.

The commercial viability is very strong and the fact that the economy us depressed doesn't mean we should not progress and develop.

No need to be negative any any means necessary.
There is a vast network of pipelines running from the Niger Delta to the south west (specifically Lagos). Lets do a data comparison on how much the gas companies are making presently. The same gas pipeline supplies Benin, Togo and Ghana.

These countries are severely indebted to Nigeria as it is. Despite the market in Lagos, gas is still out of the reach of the masses. We are talking of the richest state in Nigeria that accounts for almost 52% economic base.

If you take a loan of $2.5 billion to supply gas to the rest of the north in the midst of cash crunch, how long do you think it will take to repay the loan.
This is just another subsidy realm we are heading towards. We take loans without asking the ultimate question, Can these projects repay these loans?

Between Nigeria and Algeria, the countries in between are not readily viable.
PoliticsRe: China Approves Loan For $2.6 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline by persius555(m): 7:59am On Dec 16, 2020
idealogical:
Surface transportation of highly inflammable gas in Nigeria is like begging for serious disaster. No, we are not safety conscious and ready for that, underground pipeline is our best option.
LNG transportation is a global thing. On the scale of exposure to disaster, it is below 3%. The US have been shipping LNG via LNG vessels over the high sea to Europe for years. This accounts for 12.5% LNG supply to Europe. The commercial viability of this project at a time when the economy is already depressed should be our concern.

We should develop a saving and managing culture in the face of economic depression, not reckless borrowing and spending. There is absolutely no justification for this project.
We didn't embark on such when we were richer, why now that there is paucity of fund.
PoliticsRe: China Approves Loan For $2.6 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline by persius555(m): 7:47am On Dec 16, 2020
idealogical:
The gas they are piping through the pipeline is for sale and profit, to improve commercial and industrial activities and production and to create jobs and generate investments, not for show or to blow the gas through the air or to dash dash.
It will make more sense if the loan is channeled towards completing the North to East rail section. That way, LNG can be conveyed by rail to and from the Niger delta to the north. Don't forget the same rail will serve dual purpose as goods can also be transported to and fro.

The problem with this government is not availability of funds but the wastage of available funds. We are digging Nigeria's economic grave with all these Chinese loans flying all around. The Chinese only want to create economic annex in Nigeria. We should be smart with loans.
PoliticsRe: China Approves Loan For $2.6 Billion AKK Gas Pipeline by persius555(m): 6:58am On Dec 16, 2020
You borrow to fund a project whose viability is close to non existing. Can you pay back the loan with profit from the project.

What is the viability?

PoliticsRe: Kidnaping Of Kankara Students: Boko Haram Claims Responsibility by persius555(m):
At this point, it's safe to say Boko Haram have sorrounded the northern Nigeria. If Boko Haram can carry out attacks in kogi state, why the denial for the rest of the he North.

The reason why Boko Haram continues to thrive is partly because the northern elites and the military hierarchy are in constant denial of the Boko Haram existence in the entire north.

Trying too hard to distinct Boko Haram from bandits and cattle rustlers is only allowing certain level of invisibility for boko haram. This is called Virus Obfuscation in cyber warfare. This is not the time to be playing politics with violence and terrorism in the north before it goes out of control.

Has the ownership of FESTAC been handed over to LASG or Amuwo Odofin LGA.

If they think APC isn't looking to come back to Edo state, then they are living in fool's paradise. PDP Edo state should focus on solidifying its structure in the state.
