🚨 HYPERTENSION IS NO LONGER AN OLD PEOPLE'S DISEASE — AND IT'S KILLING YOUNG AFRICANS SILENTLY I see it every day in the hospital. A 32-year-old. A 38-year-old. A 45-year-old. No warning. No symptoms they noticed. But dangerously high blood pressure. This is the reality across Africa right now — and most people have no idea it's happening to them. Why are so many young Africans developing hypertension? ❌ Excess salt & processed foods ❌ Chronic stress — financial, family, work pressure ❌ Little or no physical activity ❌ Poor sleep (often under 6 hours) ❌ Alcohol, smoking & energy drinks ❌ Skipping medical checkups for years The dangerous part? Hypertension is called the "Silent Killer" for a reason. You can feel perfectly fine — while it quietly damages your heart, kidneys and brain. By the time these symptoms appear, damage may already be done: ⚠️ Persistent headaches ⚠️ Dizziness or blurred vision ⚠️ Chest tightness or pain ⚠️ Unexplained fatigue And left untreated, hypertension leads to: 💔 Stroke 💔 Heart failure 💔 Kidney disease 💔 Sudden death The good news? You can protect yourself — starting today. ✅ Cut down on salt and processed foods ✅ Move your body — even 30-minute walks count ✅ Prioritise 7–8 hours of sleep ✅ Manage stress (prayer, rest, hobbies — they matter medically) ✅ Reduce alcohol; stop smoking ✅ Check your blood pressure regularly — even when you feel fine As a doctor, the one thing I urge you to do this week: 👉 Go check your blood pressure. Today. Not tomorrow. It takes 5 minutes and could save your life. 💬 Have you checked yours recently? When last did you visit a doctor? Drop your answer below, I read every comment. 📌 Save this. Your future self will thank you. 📤 Share with someone you love. You might save a life today. ➕ Follow Dr Adekunle Adeyemi for honest, practical health advice that works for you. #Hypertension #SilentKiller #AfricaHealth #HighBloodPressure #PreventiveHealth #HeartHealth #HealthyAfrica #DoctorAdvice #KnowYourNumbers

I see it all the time , people popping Ibuprofen or Aspirin for every little ache. They work, yes, but they’re not harmless sweets. Your kidneys are the silent filters of your body. Overusing NSAIDs can lead to analgesic nephropathy — gradual scarring of the kidneys that often goes unnoticed until the damage is advanced. As a doctor, I want you to stay informed and stay safe. My Professional Advice - Never exceed the recommended daily dose. - Always take NSAIDs with plenty of water. - If you’ve been using them for more than 10 days, it’s time for a conversation with a healthcare professional. Your kidneys deserve better care than most people give them. Essential Safety Tips 👇 - Know your NSAID — Understand whether you’re taking Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Naproxen, or another anti‑inflammatory. - Avoid doubling up — Many cold/flu remedies already contain NSAIDs. - Eat before taking them — Helps reduce stomach irritation. - Stay hydrated — Kidneys need fluid to process medications safely. - Limit alcohol — Alcohol increases the risk of stomach bleeding. - Watch for warning signs — Swelling, reduced urine, fatigue, or persistent pain should prompt medical review. - Check interactions — Especially if you’re on blood thinners, blood pressure medication, or have chronic conditions. - Use the lowest effective dose — More isn’t better. - Don’t rely on them long‑term — Explore safer alternatives for chronic pain. - Consult a professional — Especially if pain persists or you need daily relief. https://www.facebook.com/share/14d2qK6tYCF/ #KidneyHealth #HealthTips #AdekunleAdeyemi #WellnessJourney #MedicalAdvice #KidneyCare #HealthyLiving #PainManagement #DoctorTips #WellnessAdvocate #KidneyAwareness #SafeMedication

Health is Wealth: Your Body, Your Biggest Investment! "Owo l'opo, sugbon aisan ni o n pa eniyan." (Money is plentiful, but it's sickness that kills a person.) This Yoruba proverb cuts deep, doesn't it? We hustle hard in Nigeria – from the bustling markets of Alaba and Ariaria to the corporate towers of Lagos and Abuja, from the farms of Benue to the oil fields of the Niger Delta. We chase naira and kobo, dreaming of financial freedom, big cars, and building generational wealth. But amidst this relentless pursuit, we often neglect the very foundation upon which all wealth is built: *our health* The truth, my fellow Nigerians, is stark and undeniable: Health is not just *part* of wealth; Health *is* Wealth. Think about it: 1. No Health, No Hustle: Malaria knocks you down for a week. Typhoid fever sidelines you. Back pain from long hours or untreated injury stops you from working. Hypertension silently strains your heart. How much income do you lose? How many opportunities pass you by while you're bedridden or weakened? A healthy body and mind are your primary tools for productivity and income generation. 2. Hospital Bills Drain Pockets Faster Than Anything: That "small" cough you ignored becomes pneumonia. That nagging pain turns out to be an ulcer needing surgery. Uncontrolled diabetes leads to complications. Suddenly, savings meant for your child's school fees, that plot of land, or expanding your business vanish into hospital bills, expensive drugs, and repeated tests. Prevention and early treatment are infinitely cheaper than crisis management. ₦5,000 for a check-up today can save you ₦500,000 (or much more!) tomorrow. 3. Quality of Life is True Riches: What good is a mansion if you're too sick to enjoy it? What use is a fleet of cars if chronic pain stops you from driving? True wealth isn't just numbers in a bank account; it's the energy to play with your children, the strength to travel and explore, the vitality to enjoy life's simple pleasures – a good plate of amala and ewedu, lively conversation with friends, the joy of community. Good health is the currency of a fulfilling life. 4. **The Ripple Effect:** Your health impacts your entire family. When the breadwinner falls ill, the whole household suffers financially and emotionally. A mother weakened by preventable complications affects her children's care. Investing in your health is investing in your family's stability and future. The Nigerian Context: Facing Our Health Challenges Head-On We know the hurdles: * Infectious Diseases: Malaria, typhoid, cholera, tuberculosis – still major threats, especially with inconsistent prevention and treatment access. *Rising Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs):** Hypertension, diabetes, stroke, cancers, kidney disease – fueled by changing diets (more processed foods, sugary drinks, salt), stress, sedentary lifestyles, smoking, and excessive alcohol. These are now silent wealth destroyers. * **Maternal & Child Health:** High rates of maternal and infant mortality remain a painful reality, often linked to access and quality of care. * **Mental Health:** Often stigmatized and neglected, stress, anxiety, and depression take a heavy toll on productivity and well-being. * Access & Cost:Despite efforts like the NHIS, many still struggle with the cost and availability of quality healthcare, leading to delayed treatment. Building Your Health Wealth in Naija: Practical Steps Wealth isn't built overnight, and neither is health wealth. It requires consistent investment: 1. **Prioritize Prevention:** * **Know Your Numbers:** Get regular check-ups! Check BP, blood sugar, cholesterol. Don't wait for symptoms. Many government hospitals and NGOs offer free or low-cost screening days. * **Vaccinate:** Protect yourself and your children. Ensure routine immunizations are complete. * **Fight Malaria:** Use treated mosquito nets (LLINs) consistently. Keep surroundings clean. Seek prompt diagnosis and treatment. * **Safe Water & Hygiene:** Boil or treat water. Wash hands frequently. Prevent typhoid and cholera. 2. **Invest in Your Lifestyle:** * **Eat Wisely:** Embrace our local goodness! Fill your plate with fruits (mangoes, oranges, bananas, garden eggs), vegetables (ugu, waterleaf, bitter leaf), whole grains (ofada rice, millet, sorghum), beans, and lean proteins (fish, chicken). Cut down on processed foods, sugary drinks (that Coke Zero isn't innocent!), excessive palm oil, salt (dash that maggi cube!), and fried foods. Moderation is key! * **Move Your Body:** You don't need a fancy gym. Brisk walking, dancing (Afrobeats anyone?), skipping rope, household chores, farming – find what you enjoy and do it regularly. Aim for 30 minutes most days. * **Manage Stress:** Nigeria can be stressful! Find healthy outlets: prayer, meditation, talking to trusted friends/family, listening to music, hobbies. Avoid using alcohol or unhealthy eating as coping mechanisms. * **Rest Well:** Prioritize sleep. Your body repairs itself while you sleep. Aim for 7-8 hours. * **Ditch the Bad Habits:** Smoking and excessive alcohol consumption are major wealth destroyers. Seek help to quit. 3. **Seek Knowledge & Early Care:** * Don't self-medicate endlessly. Understand your body. Listen to its signals. * When unwell, seek qualified medical help *early*. Don't wait until it's an emergency. * Explore the NHIS and community health insurance schemes where available. Plan for health costs. 4. **Protect Your Mental Wealth:** * Talk about your feelings. It's not weakness. * Seek support if overwhelmed. Talk to a pastor, counselor, or trusted elder. * Practice mindfulness and gratitude. **Conclusion: Your Greatest Asset** True wealth isn't just stacked naira notes or landed property. It's waking up feeling strong and energetic. It's having the vitality to pursue your dreams and support your loved ones. It's avoiding the financial ruin of catastrophic illness. It's enjoying the full, vibrant life that Nigeria offers. Make your health your number one investment portfolio. Feed it well, move it, rest it, check it, and protect it. Because when you have your health, you have the foundation to build every other kind of wealth you desire. A kì í f'owó ra ìlera, ṣugbọn ìlera l'oro. (You cannot buy health with money, but Health *is* Money.) Invest in your health today. Your future wealthy self will thank you! Share this message with your loved ones – let's build a healthier, wealthier Nigeria together!**

jaybenugo:This piece of information is a misinformation! You bought a vehicle 2021(last year) you committed an offence by driving against the traffic( which can led to loss of life and properties) 3months after purchasing the car and you were put into jail for 3years which you recently completed? But working with the information we have , there is an established rule which you have broken. There is an outlined punishment for this offence. So what exactly are you pleading for? Is he begging for money to get his car or bringing the auction down to 50k. If we want to progress as a country we should try and separate reality from emotions. Let every offender face full course of the law irrespective of your position. The abroad we all talk about, no one will dare try such a thing, your plate number is connected to the cameras and your biodata, no police will run after you and there is no one to beg. You will get your fine(through post) and depending on the gravity of the offence committed you may go to jail or even lose your driving licence and be banned forever from driving. Let all try to be law abiding citizens and make our country great once again.! |
In developed countries where coins are being used, coins can buy a lots of things especially edibles and for transportation. E.g for UK the highest denominations you can easily see around most times is 20 pounds, that 20 pounds if you want to enter a bus 98% of time the driver will not have change. In our country 10 Naira can't even buy anything. No sensible government make 1000 naira note and allow is to flow up and down in the street. We are not yet there.. Before you can enforce coins then 50 kobo, 1naira will be able to purchase things, by that time there won't be any need for enforcement |

Most mechanics will claim that they can do it.. but only few can really get it done without a major issue. From my personal experience, abeg run! If it is your only car, otherwise there is no harm in trial one day them go sort the resultant issues finally... after weekly or 2x weekly contributions to mechanics and rewire. |
They are claiming fuel scarcity.. I asked a friend that drives that how long did he queued to get fuel and he said about 10mins.. I laff inside |
God bless you my brother.. How much does most states government pays a graduate ![]() Most statesof federation still struggles to pay 15k With no accommodationand pension. A close example I knw is Osun state Someone7: |
That's what is called "Sex at first sight" really it's not the best... but that doesn't makes a lady cheap..! The fact that one had sex at 1st date doesnt mean that she is available to all. There are 1001 guys out there that will offer a million naira just to have her but she won't agree. So therefore if she had not stress you for you to have her then she has a special feelings for you! |

This is an incomplete story. She keeps coming because you allowed it. Ladies can be funny..she must have an agenda If you are a real man, you know what to do.. Just follow your mind. |
Thanks for all these info. God bless you all fam. |
...go ahead... your eyes go clear as soon a you eventually give birth to HBSS. All the love go clear when you spend most of your time in and out of the hospital without any savings left. But to be candid try and take an advice from any parent with sickle child... all will eventually end in tears. |
The man doesn't deserved to be handcuffed. |
You don't really love your husband as you claimed. If you love your husband daily sex will not be a burden or point of concern to you... you will always want to have more. Probably your husband is boring in bed compared to your previous experience. Madam 2yrs of marriage is too early for this kind of flimsy excuses and complaints. |
There's no benefit in marrying a virgin if you are not one yourself. Because the probability say she go sabi is 0% act of good sex are learnt they are not in born. |
A "wife" is independent of if virgin or not. The fact that you are a virgin doesn't automatically translate to being a good wife. There are more characteristics of a woman called a wife than the sexual part. A wife is a is a complete being that compliments his husband's weakness. A wife will make you whole. If you are married you will knw these facts. |
Most of us are missing something "non venomous " means not poisonous but it doesn't mean that the snake cannot bite you . It means if you're bitten by them they won't inject poison into you.
