BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE!
House of Representatives Commitee on Science and Technology Monday said that the 2021 budget as presented by President Muhammadu Buhari was incapable of lifting Nigeria from the current economic recession.

It will be recalled that Buhari in early October this year presented 2021 budget estimate of N13.08 trillion to the national assembly for approval.

Last Saturday, the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, announced that Nigeria had slid into recession, the second time in five years.

FOOD 4 THOUGHT

Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water.

As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjust its body temperature accordingly.

The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore.

At this point the frog decides to jump out. The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature.

Very soon the frog dies.
What killed the frog?
Think about it!
I know many of us will say the boiling water.

But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.

We all need to adjust with people & situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust & when we need to move on.

There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions.

If we allow people to exploit us physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so.

Let us decide when to jump!
Let's jump while we still have the strength

Nigeria, Africa’s biggest economy, has entered its second recession in five years as official figures published on Saturday show that the economy shrank again in the third quarter of this year.

This year’s recession, ocassioned by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, is worse than that of 2016.

The National Bureau of Statistics, in its Gross Domestic Product report for Q3, said the GDP, the broadest measure of economic prosperity, fell by 3.62 in the three months to September.

Economists consider two consecutive quarters of shrinking GDP as the technical definition of a recession.

For the first time in more than three years, the Nigerian economy shrank in the second quarter of this year as the GDP fell by 6.10 per cent, compared with a growth of 1.87 per cent in Q1.

The investment mistake I made

Or will I say the investment opportunity I missed

Was to sit on the sidelines when the carnage of March /April was in full swing

Taking some reasonable positions in Nestle, (<N800)
Zenith (<N11) and even Wapco and a few others I had in my radar then would, by now have paid off big!

While I remained on the sidelines hesitant
The brave ones took their positions
And are reaping bountiful from it.

This is not to say that there were no gains
But indecisiveness made me lose out on a big opportunity
AGAIN!
The lessons learnt from this, is that

1)dont have the "end of the world mentality, it won't l. No matter the gloom or panic, it will pass over
Which leads to the second

2) A fundamental company shares will always survive the storm, regardless of what happens. As long as the company has not had structural blows to the chin, even if the share price is going down, if you are liquid, buy more, and more.

Looking back in hindsight
I'm glad I'm among the living who survived the pandemic

Not so happy about the lost opportunities

But the lessons learnt are tattooed to my heart.

That's about it...
OPPORTUNITY to buy GUINNESS @N17 is still there.
