The industry is getting harder and harder for newbies to learn, its part of the evolution.

Take react for eg. I call it a busybody frame work. If a newbe attempts learning via react na OYO.

I no know who send react them message.

Lots of busy body things.

Guess what even Vue js that people claim is simple their new release vue3 when I was learning it I notice ld it picked a lot of concept from react especially in their new composition API soon even Vue won't be tagged a simple framework because slowly it is getting complex

Hi all, I get it you hate writing test or dont even know why you need to write test or what writing test is for me to explain this i will you just a little example or case scenerio to explain it i hope you understand why writing test is necessary

ok imagine you have just been employed in a company as a developer and you where handed a code base to change a column in the sql database and change some logic in some sections of the codebase e.g(may be authentication of new user or anything like that ) and
you successfully did it and then the authentication is working fine and every where is good and dandy then you tried to visit another page in the website or the app and then you discovered that the column in the sql table you changed earlier is really required for the page to function then the reality hits you that you dont know how many places have been affected badly by the new changes you did and you now start going through the whole app just to be sure your changes did not affect other section negatively if is a small app that wont be a problem but imagine if it is a very large app that will be a serious pain in the ass now here is where writing test shines

writing test is like creating a small simulation of how each part of your app work how each feature works and checking if that part behaves the way you want it to behave take for example writing test for the authenthication feature

personally to me i just know two types of test

1. unit testing : this is writing test for just a unit of the app eg writing a test for a method or function you created
2. feature testing: this is writing test for a feature in your app eg authenthication,upload of profile image features e.t.c

now imagine if a test was written for the codebase/app by programmers who worked on it earlier before you inherited the codebase/app,
you won't be scared of the changes you made if it will cause a ripple negative effect on other part of the app because all you have to do is run the test and then you will know other places that was affected negatively by you new changes and all you have to do is go to those part and makes some slight changes for it to work normal as it used to be and then you update the test in those area so that other programmers that inherit the codebase/app from you after you have left won't swear for you or use ogun to lay a curse on you .

also writing test also makes you understand i new codebase/app quickly because all you have to do is run the test and read it and you will have a good idea where all part of codebase work and even sometimes how they are connected

and pls i beg you dont decieve yourself and think you will write test after you are done with the app pls as you add a working feature to you new app or code/base you inherited or make any changes pls let those changes too reflect in the test too as quick as possible

i hope you all read what i wrote and trie to write test.

popular test library for javascript is (jest) and for php( we have phpunit) they wont take you up to a week to learn

Honestly learning to code is hard but I won't advice someone to spend a lot off time each day learning because in a short time you might get burned out of doing it and even question if you are progressing but I will say persistence is the key even if it is just 2 hours a day is not bad at all for learning with time you will progress, and again if you get a job as a programmer you will code for long hours where I was working before by 8 am I get to the office I will start coding from there I will code till 5 pm and after that I will still study from 8 pm till 11pm or 12 am that is how brutal it is but when starting pls take it easy on yourself start with 2 hours then build up from their and take breaks when necessary as for me my FM radio is my best friend to keep me not feeling lonely God bless all programmers

I have come to realize that so many people date for the wrong reasons...

Maybe OP is not yet ready or capable for marriage and the girl can't wait, hence her reason for breaking up but still loves the friendship

Trust me she just want that attention I have seen it playout several tyms in my relationship life and even recently two of my friends liked a girl and word her she liked one than the other but when ever the one she likes misbehave she will just become every friendly to the second she doesn,t like but as soon as they comeback together and dating again she begins to act cold to the one she is not attracted to, most women have a very low self esteem and feed on attention and praise from a man like how fly is attracted to a pooo

Funny enough the girls that rejected me all complain that I act distant and cold after that and claim am immature but guess what they end up hating me it just a reverse psychology because I still remain very civil with them but woman will always want the flirting and joking personality you displayed when talking to them but guy that tym don pass you had your chance and you blew it unto the next one

Personally I have noticed that women love attention like mad. I guess she miss the attention you gave to her when both of you where still dating now she is either single or in another relationship but not getting that care or attention from her new man or from guys around so she is finding her way to be in talking terms just to get attention and boost her silly ego

@codeartist bro from my heart I think you learn faster looking other people's source code of their projects is the best ways to scale up your skill set quickly as a programmer because you will see how those things or concept you learnt while learning the language is used and even if you know how to solve that problem looking at other people's project source code will show you another diffent and even more efficient way to do it and lastly it will show you very very bad written codes and you will learn how to write cleaner codes Bros I take God beg you change this your ideology with the speed of whitemoney sorry I mean big brother naija sorry soorrrry I mean speed of light

Precisely but I digress, OP if you know PHP learn a platform like Magento. Its the surest way to a remote or relocation job.

Bros Magento no be here oo even people who use it complains butterfly about it although the pay as a Magento developer is really really good but hmmmm the stress pls I would just advice my guy to go learn wordpress and probably WooCommerce if he wants to go platform specific or better still follow your own path(wordpress template and plugin development)
