I am in support of Oteh simply because her persecutors did not come to equity with clean hands. GEJ deserves people who are competent and fearless or else they will make him a spectator in his own government.

Alright. Don't feel that I am asking too much questions. If you go through a registration process in school before becoming a genuine student then you should take my (and that of others) observations and questions as a process for people to help you.

Ikanium: i just opened a savings account with GT BANK but they said i can't get it now till monday if only Somebody(f) will maybe pay into a third party account i can get it now and pay the school fee today but if you don't trust the third party thing then it will be monday in the evening then eventually i will pay the fee next year...

He could sincerely need help and that's the reason (despite all the glaring red flags), I am still on his case, giving him tips about how to re-activate his (dormant) account. But I got really irked when he asked that money be paid into another third party account again!!!!

@OP. You seem to be digging your own grave. Somebody(f) promised to pay your school fees including any late penalty and you are still in a hurry. I already have certain details about you and will painstakingly verify your claims before I proceed further. You may just be naive after all or probably just learning the tricks of the trade (fraud).

@OP. Like I stated to you yesterday, some banks would not allow any debit or credit entry into your (dormant) account until their account re-activation form is duly filled(a current pp photograph & valid means of ID may also be required), submitted, approved/authorized and a small amount (even N100) is paid into the account. Go back to the bank and get it rightly done this time.

I may not have your time again for any more excuse.

somebody: @ikanium, I have followed this thread closely as I really want to help you but there are quite a few inconsistencies here and there. But I guess no one is above mistakes and if you are indeed as desperate as you make out to be then perhaps you are nervous. Post the bank details for your school and what information needs to be included as reference and I will pay the fees. I will also give you a token to help get to and settle down in school. Other people have indicated their willingness to help and I guess we can all pay that into your personal account. If the fees are paid directly, I think people will feel more comfortable helping out. Thanks to kulyie who has kindly agreed to help with foodstuffs? @kulyie, are you able to package the foodstuffs and send it by local transport to where he is? That way it saves him travelling all the way to you.

@somebody(f) has volunteered to pay your school fees. However your school's bank account details does not contain name of bank, branch, and any other information/reference like Faculty, department etc. You should be on top of these things and pay attention to details.

Go to the bank tomorrow and do as I explained. They will give you your new ten (10) digit account number. Have you not heard of NUBAN before, yet you spend time on frivolities on facebook, nairaland, etc. I took one look at the account number and spotted the difference to you. Bank deposit slips have space for only ten (10) digits for account number.

PS: When I said token I meant small amount and not internet banking token (hardware device).

@OP. When you get to the bank ask for the account re-activation form. Your account may have entered dormancy (if no transaction in the account for six months) and some banks may not credit your account until this form is correctly filled, submitted to the bank and a token (any amount, even N100) paid into the account for immediate re-activation. I don't know the procedure for Ecobank.

I do not expect any more cock and bull story from you any more. Remember, you cannot get far if this is a hoax. It's a small world - Some people in this forum work with Ecobank, others live in Kaduna (where you claim you reside), some others reside in Kogi (where your school is located). So your story can easily be verified. It will be a big shame on you if this is a charade.

I know what it is to be poor and confused. I can feel your pains if really you are genuine but your inconsistency is a let down and turnoff. You are not giving us benefit of doubt here.

Get back to the bank and ask for your new account number (its now ten digits). This old number won't fly and you are yet to provide your school's bank account details. Someone may just decide to pay your school fees directly into your school's bank account and send the teller/deposit slip to you to make it available to your school authority as evidence of payment.

However I am not yet fully convinced about your story but I will still look into your case.

You did not give us your school's account bank details irrespective of this new account that is supposed to be ten (10) digits.
Kindly clarify this discrepancy once again. In which branch of Ecobank was this account opened and was the account opened today.

I may be wrong anyway, but most of the things we do, we learnt it while we were not even aware we are learning. I said to myself, i ll never buy a toy GUN for my children

With the various challenges of modern day parenting in the 21st century (the internet age), it's not about buying a toy gun or not for your kids (it may not be expedient for you though). It's about teaching them appropriately about good and bad behaviors. Good behavior get rewarded and bad behavior get punished.

Take the case of teaching se.x education in schools for example. I guess the debate about its appropriateness/suitability is still on-going in some schools.

Its better I buy my male child a toy gun, buy one for myself and play with each other with it and teach him the difference between a toy and a real gun than for him to be misled by others. However, different strokes for different folks.

I also remember having different types of toy guns as a kid. It was fun. The females got dolls (barbie or so). I read comic books such as Tin-Tin, Asterix and Obelix, etc. Watched cartoons on NTA (lagos) channel 5 & 10 such as Thunder-Sub, Speed Racer, Voltron etc.

Toy guns are okay as long as there is adequate parental care and good upbringing. Some of the armed robbers today never had toy guns as kids but had access to bad company.

How else does the IMF, world bank and other international lenders enslave gullible nations if not by debts. The USA is about to go over a "fiscal cliff" because of debts. Greece is also in dire straits because of debts. When will Nigeria learn?

However this may not be a scam but it could also be. President Obama of the USA once advised youths to be very careful with what they post on the internet because it may haunt them in future.

The best way (in my opinion) to help this guy (hope he is not a fraud) is to find someone who could actually go to the school to pay directly into the school's bank account so that he does not have access to the school fees. This should not stop him from receiving further aid in future if he is genuine.

So, like many of you, I was shocked and appalled when I saw Chinua Achebe's name on the Politics section Hall of Shame contest.

I think this unacceptable development demonstrates the fact that the Politics Section Hall of Shame is not a constructive idea.
I hereby call on the Politics section moderators, Jarus and OAM4j, to end the divisive Hall of Shame contest and delete all related threads.

If I was the President, I will simply insist that she should be allowed to finish her tenure which is less than 2 years I guess. There are more pressing national issues that these legislators should be asserting their so called over-sight functions on rather than trying to crush a fly with a sledge hammer.

I would have supported the national assembly on this matter if only they (house committee on SEC) had come to equity with clean hands. Why could they not have left her "in the hand of GOD" as they left someone (Abdulrasheed Maina) who have not been able to account for N195billion.

They simply want to use Oteh as cannon fodder against the president/executive. It's a childish political blackmail.
