Hi there!

I'm interested in renting a standard mini flat (not converted, pls) preferably in the Ikeja area,  or maybe Surulere (in or around bode thomas, adeniran ogunsanya), Yaba or Maryland areas. My budget is 150k - 250k per annum. I'd prefer a new or fairly new apartment in good condition, decent neighbourhood, tiled with water and basic amenities plus parking space. Would be nice if it's a BQ/behind a main building.

I'll be checking this thread regularly for any responses/offers so please post what you've got here (full details: condition, location and price) and leave an email address, phone or both with which I can reach you for further discussion.

Thanks.  cool
In addition to the areas mentioned above, a miniflat in Illupeju is very much acceptable. wink

Christianity EtcRe: The World Would End Tomorrow, Oct 21 - Harold Camping by petres007(m): 6:05pm On Oct 20, 2011
ceomike:
World will “probably” end October 21, 2011, says radio host and preacher Harold Camping, who has twice wrongly predicted Judgment Day.

Harold Camping
The radio host and preacher predicted the rapture would come on May 21, 2011. It didn’t.

Now Camping says the real day of judgment will be October 21, 2011. “Probably.”

Camping, has admitted that his previous prediction of a May 21 apocalypse was wrong due to an error in calculation. He also previously said the end of the world would come in 1994. When that date came and went, he said he made a mathematical error.

However camping said:

“the end is going to come very, very quietly probably within the next month … by October 21. Probably there will be no pain suffered by anyone because of their rebellion against God,” he said, according to the Post.

“We can become more and more sure that they’ll quietly die and that will be the end of their story.”

2) Wow! This thread has generated 3 pages of responses. . .and we haven't even started work yet

2) Seun don do us o! Y im put this thing for home page?  I guess it is an auto script

THe above only adds to the pressure.  Oh well, somebody's gotta do it smiley

@beknown

1) I am doing this on the assumption that some bad belle will not accept the work. If that happens, we simply move on to the next thing.  The aim isn't to put people out of work but to show the world that Nigerians can do better than what we are currently seeing online

2) On page 2 of this thread or so, someone has already volunteered to hook us up directly with the source.  We will see how that goes.

@CyberG:
My fear is that if I carry the stakeholders along, they will stifle whatever innovation that we may have.  Assuming they accept the final product from us, they can modify as they see fit.  Again, the aim here is to show our country that it can be better.

Christianity EtcRe: Question For Atheists And Religious People by petres007(m): 11:29pm On Aug 21, 2011
thehomer:
Not necessarily that it cannot exist just that we would have no good reasons for believing that he does.
No good reasons for believing he exists, shebi?

Tell me thehomer, do you really believe the universe came about by accident and no intelligence whatsoever was involved? Do you really, really believe that?

Awaiting your response.

harakiri:
@petres_007, you are a classic example of what I mentioned earlier (religious people using sentiments rather than concrete facts to buttress their claims). You are quoting from a "holy bible" that was endorsed by a pagan king (KING JAMES) who was neither a christian and neither did he believe in christianity but he saw the usefulness in utilizing a religion a lot of his people were already practising as a tool to have total control over them. Do you know how many times that bible has been manipulated,edited,texts removed and replaced etc Do you know how the biblical manuscripts were put together? What do you know about the council of Nicene? Do you know how many people died during the spread of christianity via bloody crusades? Do you know that in Jerusalem, the people there don't know who the biblical Jesus Christ is and they refer to him as a roman creation (which is true by the way) and yet, there are biblical accounts of him being in samaria,nazareth and jerusalem. Do you know how many inconsistencies and double talk there is in the bible? If I wasn't using my phone to type, I would have posted over 100 contradictory statements from that your "holy bible" (and they say he is not the god of confusion). You say he is a loving,merciful god and yet he encourages people to commit genocide,rrApE,iNncesT and so many heinous crimes (your bible is filled with numerous accounts). Don't bother quoting bible to me (I used to lead bible class back in my religious days) and I can boldly tell you, its all crap! The same white man who brought this religion to your forefathers is the same person that killed hundreds of thousands and carried millions of them as slaves! Aren't they great "role models"? Anywhere they go, they conquer the people and their beliefs after which they impose their own religion as a medium of mind control (which actually works). That is why religious zombies will keep shelling out money to a "man of god" who has already acquired FOUR jets and schools the average nigerian parent can't afford to send their kids. Two words : Mind control. The day you understand that is the day the scales will fall off your eyes and you'll see religion for the sham it really is. Nuff said! ! !
@harakiri,
This one na overload o! cheesy

Considering you typed all this on your phone! Gosh! You dey vex well well no be small o!! Cool down naa grin grin grin

Seriously, you raised quite a bunch of stuff there that'll need separate threads to discuss in detail. But I won't have the time to devote to such till maybe January smiley

I'll just briefly touch on the one that showed you haven't studied the God of bible well enough. . . and made me laugh wink

You said:

God is not restricted to only believers/christians when he needs to get things done, harakiri. wink

Everyone and everything, good and bad, christians and non-christians of all sorts, educated and illiterate, tall or short, white or black, dead or alive ( grin), angels and demons - all are under his sovereign will. All, including King James.

Who knows? Maybe the 17th century was when God felt it was time to have the bible compiled and publicly endorsed the way it was then. And it had to be someone of James' standing and wealth to accomplish. Christian or not.

King James may have thought (like you do) that he was only being smart and using it as pretext for gaining total control but behind the scenes I assure you, he was merely dancing to God's tune. It appears he danced really well too grin
