IMHO, if people within CEC can somehow understand that in Christ, ALL of us are brothers and sisters and those of us in positions of leadership are (ideally) servants and not superiors, light can then begin to flood their eyes. If a Christ Embassy Member can just understand that in reality, Pastor Chris is merely human and just as fallible and sinful as the next man, a lot could and will change. For me, that's where it all begins. CEC members may not realise it, but they're neck deep in all kinds of idolatry, and the able warden to make sure no one gets out, is the deification of Pastor Chris. If that's taken out of the way even for a moment, I think enough light will come through to make the person aware of his true state. I know entire families who left CEC years after I did and are greatly disillusioned now, trying to pick up the pieces. Some of them are young people who practically wasted some of the best years of their lives. Parents who "sowed" tonnes of resources they could have used in bettering their childrens' lives. The harvest never materialized. The years, one after the other, never lived up to the fancy prophetic tags declared every cross over service by the MoG himself. The year of laughter. The year of this and that. The levels of regret and disillusionment is staggering. I can only hope Gombs and the rest of the #SaiPastorChris crew take a break off defending him and think. 1 Like |

WinsomeX: Very good work Sir. I wholeheartedly agree with the submission above and conclusion. CEC could pass for anything but a church with the biblical mission of saving lost souls by sharing the gospel. I remember the man-worship (which Pastor Chris and the other pastors overtly encouraged and even demanded) was one of the most glaring signs of trouble. With God's help, I left and so did others; some before me, others after, even up till recently. God has been and still is opening people's eyes gradually. Not as fast or as sweeping as some of us would want, but we're glad he's saving some all the same. 1 Like |

davidylan: And act human for once. . . Its nauseating seeing Gombs and others switch to defensive mode even when it isn't necessary. I don't know = I don't know. End of thread. P.S. Its most likely a honorary doctorate but his TV/media people are mistaking it for an earned PhD. Methinks its not such a serious issue (unless Pastor Chris himself actually is claiming to have PHD he doesn't, which I think would be far too low, even for him). There are far more pertinent non-personal matters I think we should dwell more on, such as his theology and the fruit its bearing. 1 Like |

This thread has to be the biggest indictment of all time on Pastor Chris, by his supposed followers! I honestly thought there was some kind of twist somewhere but it appears to be for real. Gombs and the OP actually believe this to be presenting their demi-god in a positive light. Sorry to say, but it goes to show how far gone they are, living off the Kool Aid Pastor Chris and others like him dish out. Unless of course, there's some serous sarcasm playing out here I'm missing for which I apologize, if that's the case. FYI - Brandishing worldly feats as a supposed Christian minister's achievements is like exposing his unclothedness in public! And that by supposed loyalists! What is the world turning into? You speak of how many billionaires he has in church, but where are the sinners who have been literally saved from their sins and are now by the power of the Spirit, doing what was/is impossible to humans, left to themselves - living HOLY, God-glorifying lives? How many of those you got? You must be beyond deluded to have read the bible and still come away thinking God suffered his Son to be humiliated and sacrificed just so you can boast of billionaires in your Supposed Christians openly flaunting their worldliness and being applauded for it 6 Likes |

frosbel: Religious nut-jobs have managed to turn a simple message of love from God to a complex pile of trash called theological positions and perceptions. Sir frosbel, I'd be glad if you can help me out here with these two questions I have upon reading through your OP. I know someone in person who sounds precisely like you and if I didn't know better would've thought it was you. So there seems to be quite a handful of concerned people out there just like you. I've found it difficult to understand this person I'm speaking of and hope you can help me better understand this position. 1. Biblically, what does it mean to "love" God? 2. Biblically, what does it mean to love one's neighbour? P.S. For the record, I believe both through and through. Its just what it means to "love" in the context of both questions above that I often have issues with people who insist on this position. Lastly, I do have a high view of you and your opinions on this forum as do many others, but would appreciate if we stuck to the bible only in examining this. Thanks! 1 Like |

trustman: On Image123 Rebutting M3 Zikkyy: Image123 actually made some good points in his response to M3. example is the post below.... Zikkyy: In his response to M3, image123 agreed that the Israelite did not tithe war booty. I will say they did not because God did not command tithe of war booty. Image123 response is actually in support of our position that not all increase are tithe-able (War booty is an increase), Therefore the view that Israelite tithed all increase cannot hold (joagbaje, please note ) God defined his tithe to be a tenth (not 10%) of agric produce, our pastors define tithe as 10% of all increase (also defined as 10% of 'watever') including income from prostitution, robbery, money ritual e.t.c. so you will understand why armed robbers are tithing. Choi! I must've missed a lot. I can't believe its Image123 who said these things in your quotes! Please provide links to posts you're quoting from if its not too much. EMILO2STAY: they are slowly getting exposed, even to the extent of shotting themselves on the foot. @Emilo2stay, For peeps like Image123, I wouldn't term his apparent shift in position an exposure. I'd say he's given the matter a lot of thought and is coming around gradually. Image123: Although quotes like the above to me, indicate a major, MAJOR change in position as it aptly summarises much of what we've been saying for years. |

Religion / Re: What Is Happening In Churches? This Is Really Bad O. by petres007(m): 6:49pm On Jul 13, 2013 |
alexleo: I went to see my elder sister and her hubby on tuesday evening. As I was there, a church(Lord's Chosen) on their street was holding a service and the speakers blasting around the area(as usual among Nigerian churches). I was baffled to hear the leading minister telling them to pray against all their enemies, that madness and poverty should befall them and their children's children up to their fourth generation. Come and hear the volume of prayers. What sort of rubbish is going on in churches? Now when they started singing, here are the words of their song- "the God of my pastor's power, answer me". This really got me worried and sad. Is this what Jesus said we should do? Brethren how do we arrest this ugly developments in the end time church? Things are getting out of hand. Meanwhile Jesus is coming soon. This is only one of many ways in which we've turned the Christian faith on its head - http://www.acts1711daily.com/2013/05/09/dealing-with-enemies-the-christian-perspective/ |

Image123: ^ we don't need to assume. Behold, it was plainly mentioned in the verse and encouraged. Give me one Scripture where the doctrine of don't give tithes is stated both clearly or unclearly. Maybe we should take it one at a time, good sir. how is it that you so valiantly fight to defend Christian tithing but would have nothing to do with the other hundreds of OT ordinances? How does tithing remain valid for the Christian but the other laws do not? |
Religion / Re: Questions For Frosbel On Tithing by petres007(m): 11:01am On Mar 30, 2013 |
DrummaBoy: Thank U Frosbel for that explanation. I'm not sure he'll find one to oblige you with. But you do need to pay attention to the context of that passage to better understand Jesus' allusion to tithing there. |
Religion / Re: Questions For Frosbel On Tithing by petres007(m): 9:59am On Mar 30, 2013 |
Image123: Holding on to a single verse while ignoring its context and to whom the passage was addressed is one of the hallmarks false teachers. These things ought to be done indeed. 3 Likes |
