dBard: All I eva hear d pro Ameachi supporters sing about r schools n hospitals .. o.k.chappy i dey watch you in 3D ![]() |
Chino.. Okay! Now I will say you should cool down as well.. You dont know the half of Port-Harcourt and the works of Amaechi.. Any road you see that isnt motorable within the city of Port-Harcourt, their is a story behind it.. But when it comes to works, Amaechi has exceeded expectations. Almost all aspects of governence was touched under him. Roads: Countless roads within the city and LGAs Electricity: Rivers Electricity projects are still ongoing. I can vouch for this one. Both Gas turbines and distribution sub-stations. Security: Ask the Nigerian Police what he has done for them. Including taking them abroad to train them on anti-terrorism. Before this Mbu mess, Rivers police had actually changed. Schools: Its clear for all to see. Not just buildings, but equipments and playground. The finest boarding school in Rivers State belongs to the State government. Plus the recruitment of over 2000 new Teachers. Healthcare: I know people love to look at his health centres, but the New Hospitals are just breath-taking. From his dental clinic, to the actual hospitals. Now we await the new Braithwaith Memorial Hospital being built in partnership with a Canadian Pharma company.. That Hospital will be the truth. Transportation: Partnered with Skye bank for a mass transit scheme, revived a dead Rivers Transport Company and is investing in a Monorail.. Scholarship: Training programmes for Rivers State indigenes in colleges abroad and here. University: Did you know that Rivers State University is not on Strike?! Amaechi agreed to pay them their demands as long as they keep working. Urbanization: 5 new cities being developed aggressively under the Rivers State "Greater Port-Harcourt Project" The only thing I wouldnt talk about is water as I dont know what Amaechi has done in that sector. Trust me, for the quality and number of Projects Amaechi has delivered in 8 years, I cant call him a failure. Infact, I will rank him in the top 2 governors Rivers State has ever had. The Number 1 is between Amaechi and Diete-Spiff.. Two men that revolutionalized RIvers State.. Please dont call Peter Obis name in the same sentence with Amaechi.. Them two no be mate.
![]() |
asha 80: ok i see your point but the ordinary person has to change his orientation about tax.exactly! Anambra should be generating the second highest igr after lagos.fact! I hope this man coming in can do ramp up the revenue and get to fund major projects not these substandard things littering the place.what stops anambra from building a dedicated power plant for just nnewi? Imagine if innoson didnt have to supply himself power. |
asha 80: why didn't rivers single handedly build the owerri/ph expressway?my brother look at the bigger picture.you missed my point.a visionary leader would turn that state around to the extent that going cap in hand to the center every month would be out of the question.we as igbos should learn to look inwards and help ourselves.this country has nothing for us.qed |
I have lived in Rivers State for about 15 years. I know how bad the Roads used to be. I appreciate what Amaechi has done in Road construction, but when I went to Akwa-Ibom State last month for a Christian convention and saw the kind of Roads that Akpabio has constructed there - and is still constructing, my brother, my mouth just close. Also, dem tell me say Rivers State gets much more money (both from IGR and FG) than Akwa-Ibom State - (don't know how true that is anyway). This alone has made me rate Akpabio over Amaechi. Geez, that guy (Akpabio) is just too much. .NET
i agree my brother.his roads are of very good quality after all na julius berger do the roads BUT after roads, what next? |
amaechijay: like I said Mr. IQ I wont trade words with you.....get a Job or a life....are you really comparing Akpabio with Amaechi, your hatred for Gej wont change a thing, Do you even live in Rivers State ? I really doubt that... stop exhibiting your ignorance on here.lordamercy! Woman stop being emotional.lol |
And the part that irks me the most is when they say; 'He could have stolen the money if he wanted, but he didnt', as if that makes the wastage better.. ![]() And when we the masses attack each other over governors, it pisses the shi!t out of me.. We all have one collective goal, which is to have a better society. This isnt personal at all.. OBI SPENT 8 YEARS SHARING ANAMBRA STATE MONEY AND DOIND SUBSTANDARD WORKS... Thats my opinion of all his useless projects..
i absolutely love it when we easterners tell ourselves the truth.you will live long. |
una don come again? So op, if they ask you to stick your neck out that sokoto has a higher igr than anambra, you ll gladly lose your head? You are dumber than originally thought. |
Sincere 9gerian: Peter Obi is a great leader who will be celebrated long after he must have left office. His policy of delivery funds for lower level projects DIRECTLY to end beneficiary is unique and laudable. It is one way of reducing corruption and making sure the best value is gotten for every 1 kobo expended. Who can supervise a project better than the end beneficiary?why wont you celebrate him when his party is an extension of yours? Smh .anambra under this man appears to be all motion while stationery.his projects are not appealing.they look grossly substandard.doling not money is not what that state needs.that state needs a visionary leader.sadly peter is not that person.if anambra was were it should be,it would single handedly build that second niger bridge without batting an eyelid. |

OdionOdion: Do you realise that the Rivers State generate more IGR and collect almost the same allocation as Akwa Ibom state?. In all sincerity without sentiments or prejudices, can you honestly say Gov Ameachi match Gov Akpabio for the past six years plus? Before hurriedly answer, try and pay a visit to akwa Ibom state then you will weep for Gov Ameachi and his supporterswe are talking governors you are calling akpabio.the compensation amaechi paid alone for roads can build another ten quality roads.i ve been to uyo. the man in akwa ibom has done well on roads.roads built on virgin land.what of schools and hospitals.what of human development.what of agriculture.if you want to compare, also consider their challenges. amaechi is an all rounder.the debate should be between fashola and amaechi.akpabio does not come close. |
amaechijay: really? are we really doing doing this, I don't trade words with dumb boys like you so I would disregard your comment, I can tell from the way you write that you are either jobless or jobless.......I am a girl and one thing I am quite certain off is that I am more intelligent than you are or will ever be. Yes if given the opportunity to become a Governor I will create more roads and alternative routes on virgin land, that's how new towns are born, it doesn't stop me from maintaining the old roads....thank you ah! Madam no vex o! Didnt mean to come down hard on you like that but pray tell, how will you 'maintain' old roads? lol |
thegoodjoehunt: Let is be fair. The roads pointed out above have been done or have progressed. If the road you are talking about is in deplorable state, it will be handled. I remember when NTA road and ADA GEORGE roads were am eye sore. Today they are in good conditions. Mgbuogba I used to call darkness area has improved in power supplies. This man has worked and deserves to be hailed. Gov. Amaechi has been an wonderful Governor.they wont tell themselves the truth.we all remember when ada george, rumuola, airport, old aba,umumasi-elekahia,stadium roads were an eyesore.nta nko? But today people are not talking about them.rivers people tell yourselves the truth o! Many people bad mouthing the man have one of their kids abroad on scholarship from the state govt.if they like let them vote in a slowpoke like wike in 2015 and see retrogression.i ve said my own. |
amaechijay: I really don't have time for your stupidity at the moment, take it elsewhere and I have every right to voice my opinion....and no dualising roads is not development...thank you.you have removed all doubt as to your IQ.its definitely single digit.read your post again and bury your head in shame.so if they make you governor today, you will leave dead roads to construct new ones on virgin land? I hope you dont come out for political office someday.you are an embarrasment. |
amaechijay: This pro-Amaechi law makers are just jokers, since they moved to Apc their seats have to be declared vacant , they chose this path and should be ready to go down with their master. Secondly, how can they sit outside the hoa without the mace, why did they have to come with touts and back up? Remember the HOA is opposite the police head quarters and you expect the police to sit tight and watch them constitute nuisance? No true rivers man is in support of Amaechi and his toutish government except direct beneficiaries of his foul government e.g my shapeless aunt comm. Semintari. What has Amaechi really done for rivers people? He expanded some roads, built below par health centers, built schools that are not big enough to contain the students? There is no traffic lights or street lights in port Harcourt, has he paid his TIMARIV workers? Expanding roads are not development but building new or alternative roads. The only major road in port Harcourt ie Aba road has no good drainage or street lights, the monorail project and greater port Harcourt project is one big sham. I live on abuloma road in port Harcourt, all he did was re tar the road with asphalt and build pavements. I commend him for the nkpogu road and the new bridge from odili road to woji and beyond but is that all he can account for after spending 6 YEARS in office. He is very arrogant and spiteful that is why he replaced all the lawmakers that were not handpicked by him with morons that cant call him to order. In the hoa, all they do sit and rubber stamp every bill. Amaechi should have been impeached long ago if not for this morons. He was part of Odili's government that brought rivers state to its present state. A renowned cultist. Amaechi's days are numbered..............so expanding and dualising roads is not development.so he should have left the all ready existing decaying roads to construct NEW roads? My man you have a brain, do us all a favour and use it. |
stebell: mY GUY ARE YU FRM RIVERS? STOP SPEWING RUBBISH ABOUT RIVERS STATE.you would be the first person to shout if due process is not followed and proper compensations not paid.you also want road construction to start during the rainy season? You want them to do that road like the rubbish jonathan is doing on eastwest road? Dont make me laugh. |
kel4soft: You are a liar! if you say he hasn't done anything in his second tenure. You need to know, his second tenure is just half way. Infact he has done more in this tenure than the first.God bless You! I passed through psychiatric hospital road yesterday only to find out stemco is about to start work on it.i still see projects going on every day and they say hes not working.that garrison-trans amadi-woji-elelenwo-akpajo road ALONE is project enough. |
ROSSIKE: Speak for yourself you worthless imbeci.le. And really, we could do without your type so when are you jetting out? about time you showed up. |
phreakabit: This would have been a brilliant post if it had any form of relation to the OP's post. The disconnect is absolutely dumbfounding!chairman...long time.how you dey? |
as usual, nigerians are clutching at straws. we are pained once again that a needle has been driven through our ballon of self importance.once again we are crying over the disrespect shown to us by other nations.why is it hard for us to understand that we will never be taken serious until we GET IT RIGHT AT HOME.i dont care if we singlehandedly liberated other african nations from colonialism,as long as purposeful leadership is still a mirage,we will remain a joke! LET US GET IT INTO OUR HEADS,WE ARE A ONE HELL OF A JOKE OF A NATION. WE HAVE NOT EVOLVED! Who gave us this false air of importance for Gods sake? We are not a nation.why? Because this country has quick sand as its foundation.a weak foundation,a pot pourri of tribalism, hatred, violence, envy, laziness and religious fanaticism.we are not together, how then do we want other nations to identify us when we cant identify ourselves.this issue to me is like a man whose house is on fire, but is busy chasing rats. Jonathan was snubbed so bloody what?make una let person hear word this afternoon.the weather is too hot. |
![]() ....honestly i think our problem as a country is spiritual.its as if we are a cursed people.i cant find any other explanation. |
supported! But how do i store my sweetems name as ICE and sweetem at the same time? |
Sloan: See you blame "others" and claim ibos learnt from "others" but who are the "others" you are referring to? Must you always deflect the reality away from your people and take responsibility? The ibo war that led to 3 M ibos dead, till today, you blame "others". The coups, you blame "others". Tell me only three things ibos have taken responsibility for, out of the gazillions of crime against Nigerians and humanity! Tell me just 3!answer me this.of the three so called founding fathers, who was the most nationalistic? My bro the igbo man is and has always been individualistic.that has always been our bane.we think of ourselves first before we think tribe.it wasnt like that for the other major tribes.awo was first of all a yoruba man before anything else.so was bello.abi i lie? |
what can i say? Tambuwal was spot on! |
But seriously, i dont understand some people. Must you guys complain over everything? Innitially, the complaints were that obi do not have taste for modernization, he's only after rural development and so on. Now he has decided to modernize the cities a little, and some of you are complaining again. Very soon, reconstruction of the enugu onitsha expressway together with its streetlighting will start and i know some of you guys will still come out to spew BS. The most annoying thing is that most of those complaining dont even know what Anambra looks like.
oga you are smarter than this.please no fall your hand here.peter is one of our leaders in the south east.he is our son.we should be able to criticise constructively.now let me ask you in your heart of hearts, is this a project the state govt should be undertaking? Please be objective.arent there more important things? Honestly we igbos have learnt tribalism for others but we seem to have overtaken those who taught us.the oduah case readily comes to mind. |
No Power, No Road No Water No railways High taxes Multiple taxes Unfavorable market conditions poor technical/technological/mechanical and IT support Insecurity weak economy poor research Lack of skilled labour High interest rates Meanwhile, the government has just removed the cheapest source of protein, Omega 3 and other nutirent from the reach of the poor.. Some people are supporting it saying that we should start producing our own food locally which is cool.. However, how many poor families can afford our locally caught & reared fish?! ![]() How many Nigerian homes can afford "LIVE CHICKEN"?! ![]() Next thing na to ban the eating of Kpomo in Nigeria to promote our leather industries.. Meanwhile, poor man no get 1 lether product for ehn body.. Even ehn bathroom slippers sef no be leather.. ![]() May Baba God never allow you to see poverty with your eyes.. Just because you dey chop food with assorted meat, no mean say na so everybody dey chop o!! Even Kpomo sef is no longer cheap for some homes.. Incase una don forget, minimum wage is 20 Thousand Naira (which is not even being paid in all states sef) and 20'k minimum wage means approximately 650 Naira per day.. How much be catfish again?! ![]() I think what we need is a genuinely poor Prosident and leaders.. The rich in Nigeria have all lost touch with reality. No wonder David Mark once said GSM is not for the poor.. Now Geisha is soon gonna be not for the poor.. Next on their list will be Kpomo and Pure water.. After that Amageddon..
classic! ![]() |
simpleseyi: This is the best thing Jonathan has done since his assumption of office. Poor masses don't need to eat fish. Chickens and turkeys have been banned since by the monster called Obasanjo thereby making the poor masses eat more of low quality fish because prices of the smuggled frozen foods have sky rocketed. Now that Jonathan has taken the best decision of his life since the time he married Dame Sheppopo by banning importation of fish, the poor masses should eat their eba or fufu without fish or chicken or meat. That is the punishment for being poor. Where were your parents when others were embezzling money and looting the treasury? You can all "Go and Die". Jonathan's over 1.3 billion naira food budget can buy him human beings, I suspect that is what he eats. this man you dey mad o! But na true you talk sha lol |
interesting.africa playing catch up.2 to 20dollars a day is definitely middle class by our standards.i agree with ross.the definition is taken into context in relation to the economy under spotlight.what we really need is more financing for major infrastructural projects that directly impact the lives of the common man.you would be surprised at the the positive ripple effects of just good roads for instance. |
Desola: You dey mind the forker?dont be too sure about that.thats the point the op is raising.yes i may not know your people more than you but it seems to me you people underrate your own political sophistication. |
Omen100: from all your comments above, I have come to realise that you have no knowledge of political culture(read about the political history of the south-west & from there, you will have a better knowledge of the political history of the people of the south western part of Nigeria or better still, you were not taught in any of the failed educational institutions you have attended and its because of people like you ASUU is fighting for funding of the our citadels of learning because you only went through schools without the schools impacting nothing into you..please buzz off.read my comments again and if you still cant get my points then i cant help you.op said he was surprised to get the opinion of and average yoruba family that was IN CONTRAST to opinions on this forum showing that the president might not be as generally disliked in the south west as he thought based on nairaland.another poster jumped in with what may be 'faulty generalizations' and i pointed it out.what is it you are missing? |
ifechez: This particular hotel will employ people and also help the government increase it's IGR. It will help open up the place and other surrounding towns to greater economic activities. tanx ...very funny.if the government wants to increase its igr, it should engage in an efficient tax drive in onitsha alone and watch your igr skyrocket. |
