ezeagu: Although I support such a demonstration, I agree that MASSOB isn't the right group to handle anything, especially anything political. They have no direction and nothing but violence and confusion will come out of it unless they figure out what they want. They haven't even defined what 'Biafra' is yet and how many people within those border actually want to go with them, the economics, trade, international recognition, possible retaliation and so forth.
exactly! They appear to me like a moving car without a driver.

jaymdee: The Enugu/Anambra wahala shouldn't come up at all. It's clear that Enugu holds more enlightened people in the East. This doesn't mean that you have less literate people in Anambra. And FYI, literacy and enlightenment can have some disparity. Enugu is to the East what Lagos is to the West. And Anambra is to the East what Ekiti(literary giants) is to the West. Simple. No fight here biko.

Politics › Re: Fashola's 2200 Days In Office At LASU. The Best Speech Ever And Pics. by phantom(m): 9:24am On Jun 08, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: "The key for finding a solution to unemployment and joblessness is in 3 (three) simple words – ‘made’ ‘in’ ‘Nigeria’"- Fashola

Talk is cheap. It is not enough to blow grammar. I created a thread trying to promote this same Buy "Made In Nigeria" Fashola is talking about sometime ago. Though the thread made front page, but I cant recall any of the praise singers on this thread applauding and embracing the concept. In fact, most of them avoided the thread like a plague.

Fashola has spoken well but he should also practice what he preaches. That is the difference. I buy made in Nigeria (except when there is none). But does Fashola buy made in Nigeria? Does he buy rice milled in Nigeria? Does the Lagos state govt patronise locally assembled vehicles? Does the state health officials insist on made in Nigeria pharmaceuticals and hospital supplies? Fashola should have given EXAMPLES of made in Nigeria products he and the state govt patronise. That alone would have made the speech meaningful. He should also tell us the conscious efforts of his govt to promote made in Nigeria products. Until that is done, its all talk, talk, talk. Talk that evaporates immediately after it was delivered.
beautiful post! Let him start by making innoson vehicles the state's official cars.this man is just an orator pure and simple!

PHCN was also privatized in Nigeria and so was NITEL,where did it lead you
The average annual income in America is $45,000 a year,in Lagos,it is by the grace of God

Politics › Re: LASG Plans Total Water Supply By 2020 by phantom(m): 5:43pm On Jun 01, 2013
Eko Ile: Your layman pessimism and percieved issues with the government correcting a bad situation runs counter to whatever water knowledge you are peddling. We know (maybe not you) that the government is doing the right thing based on their spirited efforts regarding water provision and we all need to recognize and support this effort. Drilling boreholes is the wrong and never the right thing to do.

Now, you obviosuly know nothing about municipal water system hence your layman ramblings. Common sense or the smallest understanding of portable water delivery should have clued you in that this remains the best and safest for human consumption and it is one of the primary responsibilities of any government to provide portable for the general public within it's area of administration hence the multi focused efforts by this government to overcome the neglected water challenges they inherited.

We are drilling boreholes because of past neglects and we must stop drilling boreholes after every home is penetrated with clean and portable municipal water and I hope they pass some kind of law to ban boreholes for good.

Your so called knowledge should tell you that boreholes are not safe and the water from them are not only polluted, they are full of human feces and other pollutants people discharge carelessly all over the place. People drill them in the same compound where they have septic tanks and bury their dead hence spreading diseases like hepatitis, typhoid, dysentery and other waterborne diseaseswaterborne diseases.
is this initiative free? Or people will have to pay for it?
Well, I'm not the kind to bamboozle pple with technical jargons. What I told u there is jst MY OPINION which is simple enuff. You can't upgrade a present system without taking into consideration the way it is working right now. There are many lose ends I bliv will cause the project to fail. Public utilities operation and maintenace cost money. And if you charge pple even less water per gallon than what they are paying now from their private boreholes, there is no guarantee that they will move to a public water supply they don't trust. Or will you tell pple to all stop using their private boreholes? If you want to build a house now, don't you make provisions for your own water supply via a deep or shallow well? Everyone is doing their own thing in Nigeria. How do you maintain your waterworks if pple are not enthusiastic abt it enuff to pay for it? Many lose ends. Let me rest my case here.
dont expect the people here to understand your point when all they have are emotions.

Goddex: It's a very big shame on opposition ACN for a State they have ruled for 14 years only to start promising pipe borne water in 2020. Municipal water supply is a sole responsibility of the state government so Tinubu and the loudmouth Liar Muhammed cannot play that their usual pusssy cat tricks of pushing blames on FG.

Why 2020? Calabar and Abuja are examples of Nigerian cities that have steady public water supply round the clock and it took them just a few years to do that. Besides, Fashola's term ends in 2015. It looks like this is an indirect way of telling Lagosians to forget about Pipe borne water.

olire: All this is story. I only had lite for 2 hours yesterday. I hav not seemn lite 2day. Am sure that som pple haven.t seen lite for 2 weeks. But wait, when bart nnaji was there we were generating this present amount of megawatts(4000 or so) and everybody was enjoying lite. How come now that he is no more there there is no lite for everyone and we have probably added more Mwatts
because the actual rate limiting step in power supply is transmission! Not really generation.

Kairoseki77: I'm being tribal!?!?

Lagos is the most developed part of Nigeria, and the South West is the most developed region. Somehow, people in the East spend all their life rubbishing Lagos and it's leaders. Does that make any sense to you? They must be attacking for tribal reasons.

While you beg and plead for the Second Niger Bridge, the South West has been busy developing itself WITHOUT the Federal Government's help. The only two groups dependent on the FG are the North, and the South East. Both of those regions are failures. grin

To borrow a phrase from my big bro Fashola. IF YOU DON'T LIKE LAGOS, GO BACK TO YOUR VILLAGE!
pls stop being a dunce.minus lagos where else? Lagos was FCT so technically its really not ' part of SW' if you know what i mean.was in ibadan some weeks back.its an okay place.i liked it but i was no where near impressed.the SW is a joke and this is supposed to be a region that didnt hear half a gunshot during the war...lol.
