The Niger Delta Development Commission is a Federal Government agency established by Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo in the year 2000 with the sole mandate of developing the oil-rich Niger Delta region of southern Nigeria. In September 2008, President Umaru Yar'Adua announced the formation of a Niger Delta Ministry, with the Niger Delta Development Commission to become a parastatal under the ministry

you see why people call you apc rats illiterates like I said Ameachi would be faced with this facts soon.you and your mates can keep jumping from thread to thread spreading propaganda.since you don't even know that Nddc is an agency under a federal ministry their is no point wasting my time with you and your other rats
Oga, its obvious you don't even know the answer to the question you asked me. yes its a FG parastatal but its not funded solely by the FG. please do some research or call up some of your knowledgeable friends.

GEJ/FG- 6 classroom blocks in PH........laughable! grin grin grin grin...even the useless rupokwu market built by the crooked obio akpor chairman trumps this anyday... grin grin

Are these real or paper projects? Tanker drivers went on strike and yet the road in question is listed here as a project. Is it that AMAECHI paid the tanker drivers to go on strike or the road is simply a death trap?

please answer the above question by otokz. explain to the good people of nairaland how a road over which tanker drivers went on strike in PH a few weeks ago is on your list as a completed FG project... undecided undecided grin grin grin grin grin grin

even though amaechi is my man any day,I think he should comport himself, and tone down the jibes thrown at GEJ.

There's nothing you and your likes can write to cover the truth. I've thought deeply and realized that there is no single completed federal road in the entire Southeast and South-South under Jonathan's watch. If there is any please list them. On the other hand the rally was held at a Stadium completed by Amaechi. Even the Airport has not been completed till date. It is such a shame that you could shy away from this simple truth just because of regionalism.

Now let me list few things completed by Amaechi

Over 350 public schools of unequalled standard.

Over 140 health centres.

Olu Obasanjo road complete with underground drainage

let every rivers youth look inward and ask himself this vital question.....can wike really take this state forwardhuhhuh?

what are wikes antecedentshuh? he was LG chairman in obio/akpor. what did he dohuh what legacy did he leave behind??
these are questions i expect every sensible rivers man/woman to ask.

okay, wike becomes governor. what next?? does it end therehuh or are rivers people comfortable with 8 years of sharing money to individual families or groups in ikwerre land,kalabari/okirikaland and ogonilandhuh?

what do rivers people want exactlyhuh??
Politics › Re: Rivers Assembly Approves 19billion For Amaechi To Cmplete Projects. by phantom(op): 10:42pm On Oct 23, 2014
you are quick to criticise a governor whose state is littered with uncompleted projects while looking the other way when a sitting president asks for a billion dollars to buy arms.

what stops jonathan from using that sum to fund his partys nationwide rigging next yearhuh what happened to the defence budget for this year??how much is it sefhuh nobody cares because jonathan is "our brother" abihuh?

15million dollars was flown to south africa. till date,no probe. they say its for buying arms and my southern people believe it hook line and sinker because he is our "brother"

diezani is trying hard to squash her probe in the nat. assembly yet we are all carrying on as if nothing is happening.

unfortunately, its the rivers indigenes who want to kill amaechi. its the same rivers indigenes who cant identify good governance even when its in front of them.
its the non-indigenes in rivers state who appreciate amaechi and know he is trying to give his best.

i am not saying hes a saint BUT hes one our best currently. fact!!
i can accuse amaechi of many things but playing to the gallery is not one of them.
Politics › Re: Rivers Assembly Approves 19billion For Amaechi To Cmplete Projects. by phantom(op): 10:30pm On Oct 23, 2014
i am in rivers state and i can attest to the fact that there are indeed uncompleted projects all over the state and these projects are suffering from poor funding.

on nigeriainfo fm a few weeks ago,the governor admitted the state was cash strapped.he was finding it very difficult to pay salaries BECAUSE federal allocation had reduced drastically(to about 12billion/month)so he managed to make up from his 10billion/month IGR to do that.as a result ,projects have stalled and for those of you who live in PH,you can all attest to the fact that amaechis projects ON A GOOD DAY,are completed quite rapidly.

the woji elelenwo link road/bridge needs to be completed. i dont know how much its budget is,but from what ive seen going on at the site, that project is bloody expensive.
iwofe road(being constructed by MCC) is also moving on slowly
the andoni-opobo unity road is probably the most ambitious road project taken on by a state governor.very few roads (e.g lagos-badagry by LSG and maybe the delta to akwaibom segment of the east-west road )in nigeria would dwarf its magnitude and cost

those of us unbiased citizens who live in PH know that amaechi has taken on ambitious and costly projects which he is struggling to complete.

Here lies a woman who had a money laundering case whilst she was the wife of the deputy governor and later governor of Bayelsa state handing over a candidate to the only politician in the whole world (at least that I know of) who has a court injunction that restrains any legal entity from scrutinizing his 8years misrule of Rivers state.

The long and short of this is that any attempt by.rivers people to vote wike if he gets the ticket anyway will spell doom for the oil rich state. It is really a pity that weve allowed ourselves to be recolonized by heartless and soulles politicians who have no desire to deliver any dividend of democratic rule to the people but enrich themselves and their cliques.

Imagine wike needing to make all these people in the entourage of the first lady happy if he's elected governor? Thank God I'm not a riverian cos the state allocation no go even reach Abuja toll gate before he finish

my advice to rivers youths would be to take wikes money, enjoy it to the fullest and then turn around and vote a responsible, sane leader.

MR Josiah Olu, Chairman, Finance Committee of Rivers House of Assembly, on Tuesday said that the House had approved N19 billion from reserved funds for Gov. Amaechi to complete ongoing projects.

Olu, (APC-Eleme), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt that the Assembly, had earlier in the year, approved N30 billion for Amaechi from government’s reserved funds.

He said the financial situation of the country had made it impossible for states to meet their financial obligations.

"What the states get from the centre has dwindled drastically and it’s been quite difficult for states to pay salaries and meet contractual obligations.

Gov. Amaechi had initiated compulsory monthly savings of N1 billion for the state reserve funds which the Assembly passed into law.

"Luckily for us, that’s what we have been able to fall back on to cushion the effect of harsh conditions we find ourselves,’’ he said.

The committee chairman said the state did not borrow the N19 billion, but accessed its savings in the reserved funds to complete ongoing projects.

He said that Amaechi had approached the House to amend the law on the reserved funds to enable government access it to cushion effects of the short fall in revenue from the federation account.

Olu said the House amended the law which enabled government to access funds from the monthly compulsory savings. (NAN)

SHUT UP AND SAY WHAT YOU KNOW WITHOUT SENTIMENTS.

Do you know that the internal generated revenue of Rivers state as of February, 2014 was 9.5 billion naira while their January - June, 2014 Federal allocation was 99.67 billion naira. The recent Federal allocation to Rivers state was 24 billion naira. Compared it to other states and make sound judgment. Rivers state would only realized that they've lost a smart thief when he stepped down as governor or if a prudent governor comes in (certainly not Weke)
when you begin your contribution or post with an insult,it does not tell well of you. please be civil. remember that fed allocation has dropped not just for rivers but also the other states.
amaechi is struggling to pay salaries. two days ago RSHA approved a 19billion naira withdrawal FROM THE STATES SAVINGS. the numerous projects littered around have been poorly funded of late.
