People with low self esteem and depend on nairaland to air their views will surely be bullied. It happens to young people and we should not substitute our adult position with these people because they are just too young and don't really know how to navigate the online world yet.

As for suicide, i doubt if it is prevalent in our part of the world and such kind of things can be found easily in the western world. When you are bullied both in real life and in the virtual life then harming yourself might be the next option for these teenagers.

I see your point here but a parent is still a parent and i will always sit down with the one who did not contribute to find out the issues that lead to that and see how we can move on from that. Can't you forgive and move on, it is never too late for the failing parent to still contribute to your life if u can give them the opportunity again.

Hmm seems the days of our fathers and mothers of old are fast gone and cheating is now a big crime in this modern world. I thought issues like is something that should be waved aside by we Africans but the vibe am getting here is erm chilling oo.

So what if it is the reverse we have and it was her mother that cheated on the father?. Will you support beyonce not to do anything for the mother or you will start asking people to find the reason why she cheated?. Will you also still support her to do something for her mom because she is the weaker sex and got nothing out of the marriage?.

Funny how its the men crying unfairness here that are the champions of defining feminine roles in the home and why/how men should not be involved.

To be honest with you, this is not about who you warm up to first or who you will do more for from my point of view. This is more of appreciating both parents as much as you can because both of them contributed to your life. Trying to find out who did this or was more defined in my life is irrelevant.

Without emotions i have sat down to look through my life and see the contribution that each of them make. The dimension a father contributes into a kids life is different from the dimension a mother will contribute and they can overlap as well. The message is for everyone to appreciate both parents according to their needs and desist from using excuses like cheating to throw away the contribution a father makes to his or her life.
