There are way so many pseudo-doctors in Nigeria. And unfortunately, many people don't even know how to identify them.

Every proper Medical diagnostic centre have the MLSCN licence of the Medical laboratory Scientists displayed or hung on their walls. No Medical laboratory Scientist (even though they are taught pharmacology for 12 months in university) will dabble into areas he has no specialized knowledge of or cases such as the above. Even though many other professionals like physicians try to dabble into other fields which are not their primary professional constituencies to make money.

This Aux 'Nurse' was trained by non-professional who are not licensed nurses. Aux nurses are illegally trained by physicians in Nigeria who dabble into nursing training to shore up income. This can't happen in the US, or UK. Professionals in that field train students in that specialized field.

You have the right to ask anyone who claims to be a Medical lab Scientist to show his license, that way you can help us eliminate quacks and charlatans that you patronize because you think they are cheap. AMLSN actually used to be AMLTN-association of med lab technologist of Nigeria. We started the agitation to become 'scientists' around 1984, because it sounded better to be called a scientist than a mere technologist!
