chudionu58:Jona planned to, wanted to etc it's all irrelevant now as he didn't. Imagine you saying they couldn't fund 15%? But they had enough to steal sha? Listen to yourself and see what hatred has reduced you to. So bad that you now contradict yourself. You better quit wailing. ..it's killing you. |
The same clown that made Patience Jonathan a Permanent Secretary at state level now complains that FG didnt appoint Bayelsan as Perm Sec? If you don't take yourself serious, who will? Is it the militants that Jona invested in that will be made Perm Secs or people like the common sense clown? |
lekkie073:A lot stops him from contesting. The same intimidation that stops most non Igbo businesses from thriving in the South East. |
lekkie073:We have Igbos in the Lagos House of Assembly. The question is why can't a Bayo win election in the East? |
CyberWolf:I presume you see yourself as one of the sane minds... lets look at the demands together so you'll see why any sane mind will not agree to it. 1. Implementation of 2014 National Conference Report- all you need to look at is the representation at the conference to know that the report isnt going nowhere. The delegates were unelected, hand picked and unbalanced. Why in your 'sane' mind do you think the report will be acceptable to the people that were poorly represented? Part of the report is the creation of more states- is it sane to implement that too? 2. Apology for DSP Alamieyesegha's death- even in your 'sane' mind you'd agree this is asinine. 3. oil blocks must reflect 60% for the oil producing people- including the ones auctioned by Jonathan? Note that most of the collaborators of Diezani were from outside the Niger Delta. Should they return their loot too? If you dont know, this entitlement mentality of the Niger Delta elite is what has made many of them the laziest men on earth. 4. Nigerian Maritime University- just read again the logic of Amaechi in scrapping this university. Note that this commencement of academic activity wasnt achieved in 5years of Jona and you now want it immediately. 5. Rotimi Amechi's apology- in otherwords, pipelines are being blown up to degrade Niger Delta environment because Amaechi insulted the people of the Niger Delta? Isnt this just too sane? So for Amaechi's wrong doing, you people decided to punish yourself and your unborn generations? 6. Clean up of polluted lands - i imagine this should include the ones the avengers just polluted? 7. Nnamdi Kanu's release- court granted him bail before current charges. The current charge of treason is not bailable 8. The Niger Delta Amnesty programme must be well funded and let it continue to run effectively. Can anyone show how the amnesty has impacted the lives of the ordinary Niger Deltan and even the militants themselves? 9. Trial of APC members for corruption- This just shows the so called avengers are partisans. Im sure Amaechi has links to the ND like they do and the differentiator is the party he belongs. On indictments, im sure whichever state governor that organised an indictment should also be able to arraign before the court. So are you still sane? |
iflywithbuhari:You wish? Dont worry, this is the peace offering for record pùrposes. The proverbial quiet before the storm. You militants will smell the coffee. |
tete7000:i forgot to add, passed in April with the aid of ghana must go bags... |
tete7000:Did you know that most of the budgets in the Jonathan era were passed in April? Please research this before you blame a new govt of delay. |
mrvitalis:i agree. Those are poorly educated dim wits that do not know the value of doing things properly. Those are the ones that jump queues, drive against traffic, embezzle public funds and yet do not see anything wrong with it. |
Gext:You see....your biggest aspiration is to be an American. It's either your inferiority complex or identity crisis getting the better of you. Go on and become that second class citizen and leave us Nigerians to build our country. |
mandax:You know so much about Ethiopia and little about Nigeria. Northern Nigeria does not have 20 states and if you don't know this, how do you then comment about how the states were formed? |
Gext:Unfortunately, fiscal federalism does not mean a State controls all it generates, taxes would always be due to the center. Need i say, total control by federating units does not exist in a federalism. Perhaps you want us to go the way of confederalism? Before then, note that the areas with resources get 13% of resources from their areas as a 1st line charge on the earnings from their areas and the littoral offshore abutting. This is different from the statutory share with other states and local government areas. At the end of the day, a state like Bayelsa would have earned close to 20% of revenue from its region. What have they done with it so far? A comparison is the fact that Western Region made all it's strides in the 1st Republic based on 50% retention of agric earnings, not nearly as much compared with what Bayelsa earns today. You claim the President is divisive and you are entitled to your opinion. However, at times we should look at the man in the mirror. Do you hate him because he's Fulani? Then you are equally divisive. As a parallel, there's a 2009 judgement for the clean up of the Niger Delta which GEJ didn't compel the oil companies to obey in his years in office. Yet the man you termed divisive has started the clean up process. Check the man in the mirror again. I don't see him as divisive and i have implicit trust that if any set of Nigerians can turn this country around, then Buhari & Osinbajo would be among them. I will support them and I'm sure it won't be just 2 rail projects we'll get. Even at that, don't despise the power of multipliers e.g. the economic activities that Lagos-Kano/Lagos-Calabar rail line will bring. Just look historically about how a rail line to Jos created whole new cities. On your contemporary level, come to Lekki and see how a 1.1km bridge has multiplied prosperity in the area. As to your comment about getting fuel for my generator, i can only say our needs are different; i don't play at the level of lining up at the filling station for fuel so i can't engage with you on that. |
Gext:What do you understand as fiscal federalism? Have you ever read a copy of the PIB? Stop repeating clichés without understanding. Please think of this question, what more can fiscal federalism do for Bayelsa that is owing workers' salaries despite receiving record allocations monthly? There was poverty in those places even when we made $130 per barrel! And hoping my country does well is not chasing shadows, it shouldn't be for you, except you're a masochist. And to correct you, i own my share of the country and I'm sure you can own yours with hardwork and the right attitude. No need to be bitter. |
The people that hate Nigeria will never want these projects to be actualised, even if it will benefit them. They fight against development and probity because corruption is the only business they know, and developing Nigeria will throw them out of business. This time around, Nigeria will succeed inspite of the bad wishes of the wailers. |
theshadyexpress:You really are ignorant! Its so shocking people would comment on issues of which they have no knowledge. Isn't it paradoxical that the more knowledge is available at you fingertips, the more ignorant people are- and they demonstrate that ignorance so shamelessly and arrogantly. Just a little research on your phone will teach you the link between revenue, appropriation and expenditure in govt. |
tuscani:Unfortunately, you and the person you quoted are both lazy. That's the problem with the youth. The urge to share, tweet or comment without thinking or searching for correct information. If you care to research, you'd find that the educational system that had Form 6 gave way to the 6-5-2-4 system in 1973. Read and improve your lot in life. |
godoluwa:Universities? Without maintaining the existing? Show me pictures of any of those universities that is functional as we speak. We've had railways since the 1920s yet at that time it didn't take up to 24 hours to go from Lagos to Kano. GEJ after spending billions on Railways left us with a rail system that took 48hours to get to Kano from Lagos and you in your wisdom call that re-awaken? Fear God! |
plaetton:'Gradually and with the requisite safeguards, we will authorise the investment of part of the estimated N6Tn currently held in pension funds into key infrastructure that will provide workers with higher returns on their pension funds while enhancing capital formation and economic growth. Nigeria’s first ever Project Tied Infrastructure Bonds are being designed. These are novel structures that will see borrowings tied to specific revenue generating projects, bringing private sector financial discipline to the project structuring and delivery process, thereby improving value' There are several new ideas there, one of which is quoted above.... of course that's if you read it and more importantly, if you understand it. |
People forget that GEJ lambasted this Governor for saying the army was ill equipped. Yes, he went to Aso Rock and stated that BH seemed better equipped. GEJ threatened to withdraw soldiers from Borno and then we'll see the aftermath. All these happened weeks before the Chibok abduction. Tell which man would still have faith in such CinC? |
I recently saw a thread on Nairaland complaining about a mosque being built in Afipko with all the posters threatening fire and brimstone. Yet there are numerous churches in the North! Please let's ask ourselves who is more bigoted? The Northerner or Southerner? We went through all of these during the GEJ years, 70% of the chosen attendees of the National conference were Christians, yet the Muslims bore it with equanimity. Jona went from 1 church or the other nobody screamed christainisation...revivals hold every day in Kano and core North nobody complains. Now Buhari meets someone from Saudi Arabia and all hell is let loose. How intolerant can we Southerners be? |
This is what you get when some does not know his purpose in office! Sponsor a bill in the Senate, not on twitter |
blackmatter007:See your bigotry? You are threatened because a mosque is built in Iboland yet you are allowed to build numerous churches in the North and South West. Tell me, who has a problem? Who is intolerant? You or the Hausaman? |
It's appalling for Thisday to quote this as justification for its headline. For me, I stop buying Thisday from today. It's apparent it's edited by mischievous semi illiterates. Just on Saturday, the back page was devoted to the elitist argument that govt should allow foreign university students to access Forex at concessional rates because they may be deprived of education. Who argues for local universities that constitute 99% of the university students population among our youths? |
poundlander:True. Just like a pastor was involved in the kidnapping of the school girls at ikorodu. No newspaper or radio station is blaming CAN. If that was an ordinary hausa muslim then the whole Muslims would be in trouble by now. |
Thanks for your assistance. Kindly help check this one: 4jgbf8ge0aa593809 Regards |
Kindly check this for me. 4JGBF7BE8BA707509 Thank you and kind regards |
I wonder why he pulled punches. He should indict the whole economic team, led by Okonjo Iweala. Little wonder she has now kept quiet out of fear or guilt. |
This is the time for Nigerians to call the militants to order. When the govt starts taking action, nobody should should shout rule of law. This is levying war against Nigeria and no private army can fight the govt and win. Come to think of it, if the militants truly laid down their arms for amnesty, when did they re acquire the capacity to carry out these attacks? Was the past govt swindled despite spending so much on the militants instead of the depraved communities? This is an opportunity to smoke them out finally. |
“The truth is that I have never met Chief Metuh before and I did not receive a dime from him, or from anyone else, to file the suit.[/quote]Unethical ambulance chaser! |
