I think we should suspend this digging out of past this and past that. Let's concentrate on the present please. Ehn ehn, nobody get answer to my question? E be say many people here no dey look the way of M. Benefit, na wa o. Though I am yet to see their results but when was the last time Mutual give back to the shareholders? |

wanaj0: You need to provide more information.
Which company dividend? Which financial year end?
ETI use to pay dividend in dollars until CBN put a stop to it. Since then all dividends are paid in Naira except you can show a Capital Importation Certificate as evidence that you brought in forex into the country to buy the shares. You can however get then Naira equivalent of your dividend paid into your account.
SEPLAT was another company that started with dollar dividend but was also stopped by CBN. Thanks sir, ETI |

onegentleguy: Wrong my dear !! U wont get paid any dividend anything outside the QUALIFICATION DATE. THE DIVIDEND PAYOUT RULE IS; To qualify for any dividend payout, u must BUY ON OR BEFORE THE QUALIFICATION DATE, or SELL AT LEAST A DAY AFTER THE QUALIFICATION DATE. ...that's simply all u need to know. So since FCMBs qualification date was on the 12th, anything outside/after that date, and u wont get any dividend as a buyer. ...unless u are selling. Again the small matter of T+3 days counts for nothing as long as follow the Dividend Payout Rule above.
As an Investor, u do not need any information with regards to the closure of register. Just concern urself with the QUALIFICATION DATE ALONE. ...and nothing more !!
I already put out a post here where this issue was very well simplified. ...folks should pls do well to recall that post for a better understanding going forward. So we don't keep revisiting this issue every now and then.
Cheers !! Thanks boss I thought the qualification was 13th, that was why I said closure of registrar is 14th. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by phemmie06(m): 3:23pm On Apr 15, 2018 |
currentprice: yes you do brov. so far you bought before the qualification date. Forget T+3 that applied to your cash payment after selling your share.
I guess the reason for having more than a day as closure of register is to accommodate those that bought shares on the qualification day. For instance the closure of registrar book for FCMB is from 14th through 19th of April. Anyone who buy the shares of FCMB tomorrow will definitely get his/her dividend because the T +3 will be taken care of due to the extension of close of registrars. |

onegentleguy: @ deepsuk or whatever u call urself, why would u keep posting offensive and highly obscene write-ups here time and again? This forum is a platform that's built on financial inclusiveness around the stock market, and u know it.
u are totally disgusting !! ...ur a complete shame and a misfit in society. U should be very ashamed of urself If indeed ur a human being. ...which I suspect ur not !! Its clear ur not even fit enough to have been an Autrolopitacus Africanus, let alone a Homo Erectus !!
Keep putting out ur miserable low life in public.
