Travel › Re: My Crazy Story In A Tanzania Prison by phemmyfour: 7:02pm On Aug 31, 2023 |
Anitatunde: I travelled to Tanzania in 2018, in search of greener pastures, greener than The green in Nigerias flag. I was skilled and versatile in cosmetics and beauty products in general. So the plan was to establish a multi million dollar cosmetics firm, far away in a country called Tanzania.
I took multi layers of loans from different micro finance banks, friends and relatives. I was able to gather almost 30 million naira. I applied for a Tanzanian visa and it was out in days. I travelled the following week to east Africa with big plans and big dreams. It was a tourist visa, the plan here is to get a working permit so as to establish my dream firm without slowing down.
Little did I know that trouble awaits me in the future. I was able to get a contact of an immigration officer who will help facilitate the transition from tourist to a working visa. I paid over 1200 in USD. In less than 1 week, I had all necessary doc needed in setting up my business. Everything was going on smoothly, business was thriving. I easily made over 2million naira in pure profit in 3 months.
One morning, government officials came to my building requesting for my license and stuff, I smiled while feeding them with all the documentations and licenses. Little did I know that day will be the last day I will be seeing the company I have built up from scratch.
When the officers imputed my details on there system, it showed that all my documents were forged and not authentic. I was handcuffed immediately and sent to their cell, while my case is been arranged for court. After some days, I was sent to court, to cut the long story short, I was charged with forgery, unlicensed production of goods and over stay in Tanzania, I got a 2 year sentence.

IconicR: Nairalanders please is it fair for a mother to suspend her own daughter for fighting her staff?
My friend's mother owns a large company with lots of staff, so she recently completed her nysc program and waiting to be called up for a job so she had to put up at her mum's company as an intern and she was doing her job well to see things done.
Most of the staff do not like to take instructions from her and this has resulted to altercations with most of them, they keep reporting to her mum till a meeting was finally called.
The staff seems to have connived against her and without even bothering to hear her side of the story her mum said she knows what she can do and she won't allow her to cause problems in her company, so she immediately suspended her and ask her to leave and go home.
The staff were happy with this judgement and some made some snide remarks while she was leaving.
This thing has really troubled her recently and she's thinking maybe her mom doesn't like her as she stated that if it were her brother she won't give such judgement.
Was she wrong in trying to put things in order which resulted to most of those fights with the staff?
Was the mum right to have passed such kind of judgement before her staff ?
My friend's mom told her to go resume next week on the condition that she'll behave well but my friend told her mum she's not stepping foot in her company again.
Nairalanders please without being biased who is at fault here? That's a good mum A child loves by the parents, they chastised |

Flamemignon1: Exactly and gay porn didn't influence people being gay,a man isn't turned gay by watching gay porn moreover not all straight people have sex for procreation buddy, infact in today's climate, people have sex for recreation more than procreation so that argument doesn't hold water, next Yinmu People that were straight for many years suddenly became gay means they were influenced by their environment based on what they see, read watch etc |

9jvirgin: It is only in Nigeria that job rejection can cause you psychological and emotional harm.
In my 8 years in the United States. I have worked in 10 big companies. I just change jobs when the pay is good and God's glory is sitting on my bank account
Meanwhile, I have traversed the entire Victoria Island looking for jobs and was turned down only to end up working at Association of Friends in Maryland as a bar tender in those days.
In all you do in life, please try and experience America. Not just America, generally in western Europe . When the unemployment rate is low, job rejection will be low as well. Most of job rejection in Nigeria is due to surplus to requirement. E.g. Application received: 100 Vacant position: 5 Probability of getting picked: 5% |

Chizzy7890: I traveled to Togo against my parents wish in the year 2021 for a greener pasture I left behind my 3 years old daughter with my parents , although the reality I have seen in Togo was not as expected, but I was at least working and sending something home to my parents.
Communication was less because I couldn't afford to calls more often. I returned back home this august the 7th and my daughter was nowhere to be found.
My parents first lied to me that she was with my mum's sister that they will send someone to pick her up but to no avail. So myself I went to my mum sister house and my daughter wasn't there and she doesn't know where she was.
I asked my parents over and over again all I could get is insults from my dad , he is angry whenever i bring the subject and my siblings are not cooperating and they've refusing to tell me the truth.
I am sick and tired of asking and no getting any answers I am trying to be calm to avoid disrespecting my parents but I am loosing patience.
So many things is going throught my head I will have no option but to take things into my own hands and hurt my dad the outcome may be deadly ,
Please no insult how do I handle the situation without disrespecting my parents or do you think I should take the matter to the police ? Involve the police, you can ask their neighbours as well |

Sports › Re: Rules Of Football When We Were Kids by phemmyfour: 11:45am On Aug 30, 2023 |
Kalatium: Gone are the days when boys were real boys as I look back in nostalgia. Below were rules of football when we were kids, damn it was fun
1. The fat kid was always the goalkeeper.
2.The owner of the ball decides who plays .
3. If you didn't participate in repairing the ball you were given a match ban.
4. The guy who's never picked was to fetch the ball from the trees or bush when it got stuck, under the car or tunnel to play in the next game.
5. When the owner of the ball got annoyed, game over.
6. When you hit your toes against a stone and you notice blood, you quickly cover the area of injury with sand as a form of first aid and play continues.
7. You can't dribble the owner too much, this may lead him to stop the game by taking away his ball.
8. No matter how many goals you scored, the winner would be determined by the last team to score.
9.No offsides.
10.There is no referee.
11.There is fault only if the fault is serious .
12.The 2 best players can not play in the same team so everyone chooses their players.
13.If you are chosen last it is a humiliation and you will remain in defense.
14.If there is a penalty the goalkeeper is replaced by the best player of the team.
15.The best player on the field is always in the same team as the owner of the ball.
16.There is always a house where if the ball fell there, we knew that the game was over. so be careful !!
17. To distinguish the teams, one of the teams take off their shirts .
18.Game over when its dark and we can barley see the ball, we all disperse in groups teasing one another until we get home to face another punishment from our parents.
Africa is our home. Childhood was fun. 19. In a monkey post, if the ball is higher than the stone used for goal post, it's over the bar 20. Guessing the position of the "vab" (valve) correctly settles the argument about the first two teams to start the match |
