Its what has taken them so far. They defended deep against canada and earned a draw. Today they were compact at d back with Ayinde doing exceptionally well until d injury. They shud go on with this defensive approach and they'd be at semis
I doubt if they will get that far cos there are at least 6 teams with great finish in this tournament already

Send the naughty boy to Nigeria to come and learn some respect and manners undecided

That was how my elder sister’s child in this same UK was misbehaving. He mingles with bad gang and if my sister yells at him or try to spank him he won’t hesitate to call the cops on her.

She explained everything to us and My mother told my elder sister to bundle the boy to Nigeria, that she would reset his head.
When he came to Nigeria my mother sent him to Command secondary school Ipaja Lagos state.

Every time we visits him during visiting day, he would cry and beg saying Grand ma please I won’t be stubborn again, I wanna go join my fam in the UK.

He spent 2 years (J.S.S 2 - 3) in command secondary school before he went back to UK. Now he’s a well behaved boy.

Travel › Re: Seeking Honest Advice: Considering Relocating Abroad - Need Your Thoughts by phemmyfour: 11:57am On Jul 27, 2023
Alejo2000:
Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I find myself at a crucial crossroad in life and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights and diverse perspectives. I have worked diligently in a private organization for 15 years, managing to save up to N20 million. Additionally, I own a 3-bedroom apartment. and a few plots of land in three different states in Nigeria.

Current Situation:
Recently, I was disengaged from my job, and this has prompted me to contemplate a major life decision. I am 45 years old, and my wife is 42 years old. Together, we have three children, two of whom are in secondary school.

Contemplating Relocation:

Given the circumstances, I have been seriously considering the possibility of relocating to another country with my family via study route. Two countries have caught my attention: the UK and Canada. I believe that I still have around 15 years of active career working life by the Grace of God, and I am open to exploring new opportunities abroad for the betterment of my family's future.

Reasoning:
The motivation behind this move is to provide my children with a better education and quality of life while also embracing new experiences. However, I am fully aware that this is not without risks, as it would involve utilizing my lifetime savings and making a fresh start in a foreign land.

Seeking Your Advice
:
I humbly seek your honest advice and opinions on this matter. Here are some key points to consider:

Family considerations: How will relocating impact my children's education and overall well-being?

Age and career transition: Is starting anew in a foreign country feasible, considering my age and accounting background as my profession?

Financial stability: Should I be concerned about using my savings for this move? What steps can I take to ensure financial security in a new country?

Visa and immigration: What are the challenges and best practices in obtaining permanent residency in the UK or Canada?

Job opportunities: How promising is the job market for accountants in these countries? Are there viable prospects for career growth?

Investment options: Alternatively, what investment opportunities in Nigeria can provide a stable income stream for my family?

Conclusion:
I am deeply grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions you can provide. Your valuable insights will play a significant role in shaping this crucial decision for my family's future.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Your support means a lot to me and will help me make an informed choice.

Warm regards,
Age isn't on your side....all the same, you can give it a shot but you LL spend over 20m to achieve that

It's a pity that some people are a walking-time doom.
During my NYSC orientation years at Nonwa-gbam in Tai LGA in 2010, I find it difficult to understand why such a government organization can not carry out a simple routine blood pressure check up at the point of registration to ascertain suitability of youths for camp activities. Many today have the wrong impression that Hypertension is only prevalent and limited amongst the older people. Research have shown that a growing number of adults in their early 30's have same burden of chronic disease which are often asymptomatic

You won't believe that this guy is bubbling lively without obvious signs and symptoms of any health issue. He is 36 years old!

Apt.
If Soccer takes the place of God in your life it becomes an idol. It becomes a sin
If your business or Job takes the place of God in your life, it becomes an idol and a sin.
If your spouse or kids take the place of God in your life, they become idols.

GOD should be our is number 1. Not just in mouth but in act. We are created to give HIM pleasure.
Any other thing that takes 1st place is an idol.
What about Nairaland? You are here everytime. That's an addiction

How are we not sure that you posted this in within a fellowship meeting

That was not what he said. He said if that time is meant for fellowship and you avoided such meetings for football matches , then the ball is a god in your heart.

Wrong! It is important!! It touches on the sensibilities of Muslims who will stop at nothing to redress any perceived insult to their religion. The video was shot in the premises of the Mosque in late Senator Adetunji Adeleke’s residence in Ede Osun State. The place might be attacked for that reason and collateral damage could result. We must act with wisdom.
And they should be jailed. Can they try such outside the Country?

Family › Re: Why Do Nigerian Parents See Pidgin English As "Bad English"? by phemmyfour: 4:31pm On Jul 26, 2023
reiddecuti:
The earlier we adopt pigin English as our official English the better for us. Rather than going round the circle f00ling ourselves trying to please our masters.

We can regulate and standardize it.

Just like South Africa, Australia, Canada and even US have their own English version.
lolz pidgin isn't our version. We have ours and it shows in our accent.

Pidgin aka broken English is spoken across anglophone Country. The proper English is "broken down" and infused with native language/slangs for easier communication.

Nigeria pidgin is different from the Ghanian and the Ghanian pidgin sounds different from the Liberian etc

You can't do it in an enclosed space.

Besides, you don't want to rent a shop just for roasting corn.
