raygoes2sch: Pls, this is quite urgent as I ave limited time to register 2weeks.
I'm an undergraduate student, science faculty. I selected a newly introduced option in my 2nd year out of 7 options ofwhich 5 were newly introduced.
I have completed a year in option as I am going to 300Level now.
Just yesterday my course adviser told me that they have scraPped the options for us that we shhld go back to the 2 that were available before. He said they want to start with 100L students. He claimed that the other department that I do borrow courses from sed their course is 5yrs, that we can't come and borrow courses and finish in 4yrs as my cousrse is normally 4yrs.
The problem now is: As am doin the option ave done the required courses for it, but if I agree to change, I will ave to go and rewrite the 200L courses of the new option I changed to.
Honestly my earlier option they stopped us from isn't an easy one but I chose to do it, wich resulted in me having C-grades where normally I wuld ave had As in other options.
The worst part, some 300L students(going to 400L now) had to loose a year just to do this option. Now its like their effort and sacrifice dashed away.
Funny enuf we are about 10 candidates affected.
Pls advice as am thinking of getting a legal advice. You should have open a topic for this. Hi Odunnu. |

Politics › Christian Youths Breakfast With Muslims In Kaduna by Phemour(op): 8:12pm On Jul 22, 2012 |
A source in Ungwar Sarkin Musulmi, which housesthe famous Sultan Bello Mosque, has disclosed that about 50 Christian young men last night stormed the mosque and in furtherance of the Muslim Ramadan, broke the Ramadan fast with Muslim youths as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen unity, peace and coexistence betweenboth faiths in the troubled State. The source said that there was consternation when the Christians arrived premises of the Mosque and proceeded to meet their hosts, and after exchanging pleasantries participated in ending the Ramadan fasting for the day as Muslims in the Mosque watched. The leader of the Christians, Obadiah Dijji, according to the source said that they decided to visit the historic Mosque and break fast with theirMuslim friends due to many reasons. He said, “Christianity is not a violent religion and does not teach hate and restiveness, and it is in that regard that we are here. Again, this is historic this is Sultan Bello where Sir Ahmadu Bello prayed and he was a good man who preached peace. This is where late Sheik Abubakar Gumi preached until his death. We are here for peace and may God give Nigeria peace.” It would be recalled that on June 17, a series of crises erupted in the state when suicide bombers attacked Churches in Zaria and Kaduna town. The Boko Haram sect claimed responsibility for the bombings. The attack led to irate Christian youthsattacking Muslims, and after two days, the Muslims also retaliated in areas where they are dominant. Dijji also said that the Muslim youths have paid a similar solidarity visit to Christians at the ChristianAssociation of Nigeria secretariat. Politics › Gunmen Kill 27, Injure Eight In Zamfara. by Phemour(op): 11:57am On Jun 12, 2012 |
Gusau — No fewer than 27 people, including a policeman, were, yesterday, feared dead while eight others were injured during a reprisal attack by gunmen who had unleashed mayhem in Dangulbi town, a district of Dansadau Emirate in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Vanguard gathered that the reprisal attack on the area followed the killing of some gunmen by both the vigilante and Police in Dansadau axis of the state.
The suspected gunmen reportedly sneaked into the town, posing as traders on the market day in Dangulbi. But they stayed back after the market had closed.
Eyewitness account
An eyewitness said the killing started at 1am, yesterday, when the villages were fast asleep with sporadic gunshots renting the air. The gunmen allegedly went from house to house killing the occupants of the buildings in cold blood.
The district head of Dangulbi, Alhaji Shehu Umar was among the people who narrowly escaped death.
The assailants, whose number could not be ascertained, reportedly came on motorcycles and left about 18 dead bodies after the operation. Nine others were killed along their route, while they were fleeing the town.
The gunmen were also said to have abandoned some of the motorcycles with which they came to Dangulbi.
Survivor's story
A resident, Alhaji Lawali Dangulbi, who spoke to Vanguard at the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Gusau, said the gunmen killed 18 persons in Dangulbi; adding that others were killed along the routes leading to the towns like Biya, Guru and Sabon Kasuwa villages.
He said eight people, who sustained various degrees of injuries, were on admission at the FMC. He said the gunmen first attacked the police, killed one and injured others, which led to the police fleeing the area before they started killing people in their houses.
Dangulbi said: "They are not armed robbers because nobody has reported that they took away his belongings."
Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Wakala, visited Dangulbi town, about 100 kilometres away from the state capital, where the bodies of those killed were buried yesterday.
Police react
State Police Command Spokesman, ASP Sanusi Amiru, confirmed the incident, saying the Police Commissioner, Akila Gwary was on an assessment visit to the areas where the killings reportedly took place.
Dansadau axis of the state had been witnessing killings by unknown gunmen, with about 160 people, including five policemen, reportedly losing their lives in Lingyado, Dansadau, and Tungar Baushe since crises erupted in the area in 2011.
as youths kill 5 in Plateau reprisal attack
Five persons were killed, yesterday, in Jos, Plateau State, by irate youths protesting the suicide bombing attack that killed several people at Lord's Chosen Assembly Church in Jos, Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, Jama'atu Alus Sunna Lidaawati Wal Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for the suicide attacks in Jos, and another attack targeted at EYN Church in Tabra- Biu, Borno State.
The sect said it did it to prove that Nigerian security agencies cannot stop its attacks and operations in the North.
Spokesperson of Special Task Force, STF, Captain Markus Mdahyelya, who confirmed the killing of five persons in Jos by angry youths, said those killed were primarily commercial bike riders. He warned residents of Jos to stop taking laws into their hands.
He said: "The general public is warned not to take the laws into their hands as any act of crime would not be tolerated by the security agencies."
About six persons have been arrested, yesterday, in connection with the killings, according to the police.
A suicide bomber drove a car rigged with explosives into the Church in a saloon car with number plate BSA 36 AA. The car exploded before it could reach its intended target killing the bomber and four others. The church building was destroyed. Source: http://allafrica.com/stories/201206120168.html |
