During Eastern region era the two main oil producing blocks were Oloibiri and Owaza(in Abia state).
Oloibiri had since dried up while Owaza is still running.

Eastern region lasted at Igbo hands from 1960 to 1967, that's 7 years and its main source of income was not crude oil, but palm oil found mainly in Akwa Cross and Igbo areas and Coal at Enugu.
The crude oil as a major source of income was still in the kitchen.

From then till date Igboland has barely produced crude oil. That's a fact.

It was oil in Ijawland Francis Nwokedi tried to use a collateral in a bid to get French military support.
