kmcutez: Nigerians demarket their country. Have you ever seen a Ghanaian demarket their own country? All the Ghanaians do on social media is to demarket Nigeria with the help of Nigerians, especially IPOB, that will be screaming, Nigeria is a zoo. Lol. Very soon no country will give Nigerians visa. Let me see how you will run out of the country after saying all manner of nonsense. Ghana doesn't give them reasons to do that! Ghanaian government won't tell their police to kill unarmed protesters. Ghanaian government will not pour petroleum products into the water their people rely on for drinking and fishing. To say it mildly, Nigeria is a fraud in all ramifications. |

You are free to claim that on Nairaland but in reality we all know that nothing like ijaw in rivers state.Rivers State is a home to many indigenous ethnic groups such as Ekpeye,Ikwerre, Okrika, Eleme, Abua,Ibani, Opobo,Kalabari, Egbema, Ogoni, Etche, Ogba and Engenni. As you claim to be Anioma on social media abi? King Ateke Tom is from Okrika and he doesn't hide the fact he is Ijaw. Chief Asari-Dokubo and Annkio Briggs are Kalabari and are very clear about their Ijawness. The same with Tony Uranta and Professor Fubara from Opobo. People like Burna boy who happens to be from the Egenni clan has been very clear on his Ijaw identity. We are Ijaw, don't be deceived by our sub groups or city-states. Search for Tonyebarcanista's post here. He has written on that here. He is Ijaw from Rivers state. The current Ijaw Youth Council president is from the Andoni clan( Rivers and parts of Akwa Ibom). |

Can't he do something beneficial for the members instead of building this contraption. 150 billion can change the life of a lot of people in many ways or look around for one of the project that our wicked leaders have refused to do and do it. Before you quote me remember that this is what Jesus would have wanted. He is doing a LOT for members! Only the knowledge people through him is enough. In coming years many of the members will see state allocation as chicken change. That is the realm we operate in as believers. Those who fail to understand will fail to operate in that realm. |

dam4sam: These Northerners are playing Games. How would a Buhari, who have failed three times in the past, won in 2015, if not that the Presidency was zoned to the North in APC, and the South supported him, with the expectation that the situation would be reversed and the turn given to the South in 2023?
But now that their own turn is abut to expire, Buhari quickly Hijacked the NWC headed by Oshiomole and filled the place with Fulani/Northerners like Gov Bunni and a few "useful Eediots" like Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, who ar now trying to STEAL the Southern Slot.
Please tell Buharo that the same way we supported APC to Victory in 2015, is the same way we will OPPOSE it into DEFEAT in 2023, if the 2015 agreement to Zone the Presidency to the South is not respected.
And the ticket is NOT for Tinubu, he does not even represent the SW. V.P Osinbajo or Raji Fashola are better choices for the SW. Kingsley Moghlu, former Governor of Cross RIver is another good one from the East, for APC Be clear, the South did not support him. The South West did. |

PataAlhajaKeji: Jonathan wey bin dey borrow to pay salaries months before them vote am out? Bros, why na?
Only $ 500 million of the funds will be borrowed for the refinery project. The remaining $ 1 billion will be appropriated for. And what's wrong in revamping a moribund refinery to increase the supply of petroleum products in the nearest future and thereby, consequently reducing their prices?
Kindly educate me, please.
The government can still diversify while simultaneously prospecting for oil and gas in other areas of the country. Crude oil is a non-renewable resource, you know. As you dey extract, e dey dry up. That's the reason OPLs are regularly granted to oil companies in oil-producing countries all over the world.
The world is going green, no doubt, but oil and gas will forever be in demand. That is just the fact.
And FYI, I am a Buharist. I don't even hide it but we are all humans and prone to err. Buhari is not perfect and I don't hesitate to call the old Nigger out anytime he fuccks up! $500 million only?! If Dangote's refinery has a 650k capacity and will be ready in a few months. What makes the push for the refinery project urgent apart from corruption? I don't want to believe you lack common sense. $1.5 billion will improve Nigeria's healthcare and educational sector significantly. The refinery can be given to the host communities for a symbolic 1,000 Naira. They can source for investors who would invest in the rehabilitation of the refinery. For a cash strapped government to put $1.5 billion in a loss making business is the height of irresponsibility. Coupled with that, a third of that money is debt. Dangote's 650k is about 200k above Nigeria's official daily consumption. Putting all that money into Brass LNG would have served them better if they didn't want to support education and healthcare. Everything about this failed government makes me cringe. From the school feeding to the tradermoni, all a bunch of populist waste pipe projects. |

PataAlhajaKeji:
Are you saying Nigeria wouldn't be in this state if GEJ had won in 2015?
Are you aware Nigeria was borrowing to fund recurrent expenditure months before GEJ was voted out? Despite the excess crude oil revenue windfall in his tenure.
A lot of childish brains here.
Macroeconomics must be hard for you all.
Are you aware Buhari is the best President when it comes to infrastructural development since 1999?
Are you aware Buhari is the best President since 1999 in terms of social welfare programmes?
The economy is in shambles, no doubt. Inflation rate sef dey vex. He has his own blames, no doubt but he is powerless. He's not a magician. Our major FOREX earner, crude oil has lost value and I don't think he's doing bad in terms of diversification of the economy. It will take time for the positive effects of his policies to manifest. Nigerians are very impatient lots. Yes, I can confidently tell you it would have been much better if Jonathan remained in charge till 2019. You don't diversify the economy by getting a loan of $1.5. Billion for a refinery. You don't diversify the economy by exploring for oil in Chad. You claim to be informed on economic issues but you just expose your bias for Buhari and his failed government. |

PataAlhajaKeji: Nice one.
Trust me, I'm in support of these your "IMF" policies. And I'm sure the government would love to implement them but the social and political costs are the major deterrent.
GEJ was bullied into withdrawing his subsidy-removal initiative in 2012. Buhari sef dey fear to remove subsidy completely.
The policies listed above are very sound but will take a long time for the average Nigerian to reap their benefits. Nigerians are very impatient people. Remove subsidy today, declare a floating exchange rate regime and hell will be let loose. Dem go start to dey insult Buhari life. NLC sef go threaten Nationwide labour strike. #BuhariMustResign go trend on Twitter.
We are not ready yet.
Democracy ain't for all countries. It'll take a benevolent dictator to change the fortunes of Nigeria for good. Lee Kuan Yew did it in Singapore.
Nice submission from you. I think the social costs are overstated. The truth is Buhari wouldn't have faced similar reactions but like you rightly pointed out he is/was afraid to act. In addition to that the policies must be backed up with counter measures. Politicians and civil servants should not be allowed to feed fat on the resources of the country. If it requires locking up labour leaders the needful should be done. Nigeria has been retrogressive for close to 40 years. Not because there is a dearth of ideas but because to a large extent the Nigerian state lacks the legitimacy to follow through. |
