LadyTiannah2:
I did. Was the smoking that was causing it. Had to quit.

It's an exception rather than the case I guess. This is my first time of hearing such.

Maybe you should do a proper medical check up

LadyTiannah2:
I used to think smoking marijuana didn't have side effects until I started having constant runny nose. Most users lie to themselves; it doesn't matter what it is that you're smoking, as long as you're inhaling smoke into your lungs, trust me, there will be damage.

paulolee:
I know where u coming from but business wise, its more better if messi leaves.

How?

paulolee:
seems laporta is talking him to stay...in as much as barca looks so determined to keep messi, i tink messi should mk d move n try his luck with other clubs like city or PSG
at least financial reasons bcox barca are too broke and his signing fee would help and also barca needs to get his huge wage off their books and lastly barca needs to start preparing for life without leo bcox its just a matter of years b4 he quits top level football...

Business wise, it doesn't make sense for Barca to let Messi go due to the fact that he is one of the clubs biggest revenue stream. Above that, he is also a symbol, a big symbol at that. So, it goes beyond just football.

MAKEOUTHlLL:
very valid points;

I still don't know why the government decided to ban a plant.

besides, the ease at which anyone can procure marijuana in Nigeria is alarming...
it makes you question the relevance of the NDLEA

why not just make it legal and generate revenue from it?

Thank you.

viyon02:
With all the problems this nation is facing, legalizing marijuana is what you can think of op? Oga oooo

Lol.

Truvel:
Ur 10 Solid Reasons Are Unreasonable.

Alright sir.

Want To add anything to the list?

Marijuana, popularly hailed as weed or cannabis is a tree or shrub that is used medically to cushion pain. It is the holy wilderness for those who walk and thread in its temple of highness when the THC is heated. THC is the chemical element in marijuana that causes the highness people experience when they smoke, boil or simply chew the marijuana seeds or leaves.

Jokes apart now, the Nigerian government is doing itself a disservice by not utilising the benefits and great economic potentials marijuana presents. Here are some of my reasons. I may be wrong mind you.

1) Potential Multi-billion naira industry.

In USA for instance, marijuana is now a multi-billion dollar industry after many states passed bills legalising and controlling the sell of medical and recreational marijuana. No one can deny the honest effort of our enforcement officials who are doing their constitutional duty. However, I have to say it categorically here that their efforts will be a waste in the end because the government lacks the adequate manpower and support to keep up the fight.

Don’t get me wrong for it, but truth be told. It seems the government is not in tune with the reality on ground. This is like the liquor wars all over again, and the government doesn’t want to listen. Legalise, control, and monetize marijuana, then watch it grow into one of the biggest cash flow for the country’s purse.

By legalising marijuana, the government will earn money from officially recognised distributors and also export some if they wish to earn foreign currency. If the government doesn’t toe the path, the underground secret ring controlling the distribution of the commodity will continue to evade taxes which legalization can bring.

It wasn’t long ago a breaking news filtered through the media space about a secret facility used in producing cannabis oil. Wasted revenue yielding avenue.

2) Marijuana is healthier than cigarette and alcohol.

Cigarette has tar and nicotine which can kill you by destroying your lungs and leaving your immune system vulnerable to diseases. The federal government also warns that smoking cigarettes will kill you. But guess what, despite being medically certified to kill you, it is still legal.

Alcohol causes cirrhosis. This is one disease you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. Cirrhosis destroys the liver, and totally weakens your body’s ability to detoxify itself. If the liver isn’t functioning properly, your body cannot detoxify unwanted materials. They eventually kill the person. But, alcohol is legal!

There is no medical research that links marijuana to any major health injury or damage. But, marijuana is illegal. Unlike cigarette and alcohol, marijuana is actually certified a healthy food which can be taken as tea if you are afraid of your lungs. Therefore, smoking is not the only way of consuming marijuana.

3) Marijuana seeds and leaves have great nutritional and economic value.
Here is a brief list of the nutritional benefits of eating marijuana seed:

• Has one of the best easy to assimilate protein content of any food.
• Rich in vitamins and minerals that can help you keep or lose weight. Marijuana seed has good amount of vitamin E and major minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and zinc.
• May probably possess the highest trace amount of natural plant based omega fatty acids which our body needs. Mind you, our body lacks the capacity to produce this essential nutrient.
• Marijuana is the only human based food source that contains all the amino acids needed by our body in the right quantity and quality.
• The omega fatty acids contained by marijuana benefits the heart and helps reduce blood pressure.
Here is a list of the Economic value of marijuana seed:

According to a research by the United Nations, there are at least 122 large scale marijuana seed companies currently operating in Asia and Europe, mostly in Spain and Netherlands.
Hope you are getting the picture?

• The chain of production alone is sure to reduce the unemployment rate in the country. A macro view of the chain of production includes the seed production companies, the seed growers or breeders and the resellers.

• The seed is also heavily sourced for by large companies like Ford Motors, The Body Shop and Patagonia to produce a wide variety of commodities you probably use or didn’t know exist.
• Can grow in almost any type of environment and resistant to weeds and pests.
• Has the potential to replace chlorine bleach if properly utilised.
Mind you, neither of cigarette nor alcohol has any of this health benefits or values, but they are legal and marijuana is illegal.

4) Marijuana is legal in many countries.

Marijuana is legal in the following countries – Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Some States in US, Belize, Costa Rica, Columbia, Jamaica, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Cambodia, Switzerland, etc.
Now I’m not saying because they are doing it, therefore, we should also do it. But, who did we follow their footsteps in the first instance to ban marijuana? Just saying!

5) Marijuana oil has great medical and economic value.

This can no longer be overemphasized. Marijuana oil is already being used medically by licensed pharmaceutical companies. Why not commercialise it then?

– Marijuana oil can be used to relieve pain induced by arthritis and sclerosis.
– Has been shown to reduce depression and anxiety medically.
– Has shown great cancer fighting abilities, and promises more.
– Has been medically shown to reduce the symptoms of Parkinson disease, epilepsy and slow the progression of Alzheimer’s.
– Marijuana oil is also been used in cancer treatment. This is one of the major reasons why the worldwide call for legalization is gaining momentum everyday.

According to a report by MarketResearch published on 21st July, 2020, the global marijuana oil market is expected to increase by 55.5% to about $1410million in the next five years. Just the oil alone!

One Hit Wonders.

Music business is not for the fainthearted. I think this is what most artistes who found their way to stardom but lost it didn't realise at the time.

Gaining a national recognition for your song and maintaining the recognition afterwards is what differentiates the music businessmen from the artiste looking for fame. The typical perfect example will always be 2face Idibia.
2baba have been in the industry for 20yrs+ now, but any time you hear that he has released a song, something urges you to check it out. True or False? In my own case, it's true, I don't know about you.
Here, we will be listing 10 Nigerian musicians we all thought were the next best thing after sliced bread, but got related to the back doors of entertainment industry. The list is in no order.

1) SKY B

Not many people will remember the "am calling" crooner now. However, I can assure you that this song was a massive hit in the Eastern and Niger Delta region of Nigeria when it was released.

Almost every subsequent song from the album was massive, and people were singing and rocking to it for almost two years. Unfortunately, Sky B never went beyond "Am Calling". Not even a feature with Duncan Mighty in the remix of the song was able to put Sky B back in the map.
Sky B recently got in the news after it was reported that he died. Of course he debunked the rumor's. Some people thought otherwise though, saying he wanted to pull a Skibii-like stunt to resurrect his career.

2)KAS

"Kas...Kas...Fimile Baby, Fimile..."
I know the beat is already playing in your head. Kas is on the list by virtue of his music venture, not as a producer.
'Fimile' was so big back then in Nigeria, it ruled over the Nigerian airwaves massively. So big was the hit, that 2face and DBanj were got on the beat with Kas and delivered another massive hit in the form of the songs Remix.

But, that was it for Kas. His other big song at the time, "Wine for Me" was big but not so big compared to "Fimile's" massive success.

3) Korede Bello

Not a lot of people will agree with me here though. Korede Bello, as I would love to say, it's a victim of his own stardom. His hit track "God Win" became a national anthem, and unfortunately, he became tied down to the track.

Nothing else ever looked like "God Win". In the music industry, fans are not that forgiving, and this can make artistes lose fame and popularity faster than they got it.

4) SAMKLEF

His song "Molowo" was a big hit across the country. The arrays of stars on the track also helped push the track further.
But, unfortunately, Samklef never experienced same fame afterwards.

5) Zule Zoo

You can't not know who Zule Zoo is If you are a Nigerian. If you think "God Win" by Korede Bello is a national anthem, "Kerewa" was something else. Na so everybody begin dey dance Kerewa dey go, thanks to Zule Zoo.
I think the ban by the government then really affected the group; online streaming platforms were not as rampant then.

6) Jodie

I know, you are probably singing the song in your mind now. The hit track "Oh Baby" was a masterpiece hit track, it will literally lull you to sleep, calm your vibes and get you into the mood of love. Unfortunately, nothing bigger came after the soul fusion.

7) Bigiano

I will love to call him the 'Shayo' master and one of the biggest dancehall artistes of the time due to his hit track - Shayo. Well, as you already know, "Shayo" dey sweet, you fit continue to Shayo dey go, and you won't even realize it.

8} AY.COM

'Pass Me Your Love' was once a big hit, especially made better with the lyrical infusion Terry G is known with at the time. However, AY.COM never maintained the popularity and fame afterwards beyond the track.

DuBLINGreenb:
Barca is currently Messi F.C

If ah hear

FC Barcelona recently held the club's elections on Sunday, 7th March, 2021. Joan Laporta, former Barca president, emerged victorious from the elections and will currently helm affairs at the club for the next four years.

During the elections, most Barca players with roots in Catalunya always tend to vote, since most of them are members of the club due to Barca's social ownership structure.

Well, for the first time in the club's elections history, Lionel Messi also came out to cast his vote. Although, we don't know who he voted for, but there is no love lost between the Argentine and the President that gave him his stardom.
Severally during the campaign, Joan Laporta was noted as saying that only he can keep Messi at the club.

Earlier in the season, Messi was fed up with the club's management chaired by ex-president, Josep Bartomeu. This made Lionel Messi to send in the famous burofax that led to the "Burofax Saga" in the transfer summer which almost ended in Messi leaving FC Barcelona.

After his victory, Joan Laporta was quoted as saying that Messi called him and extended his congratulations. For a lot of Barca fans, that is good news probably.

Karma seems to be a sweet word, especially in the way the name was carved out. The syllables and vowels makes the word instantly terrifying or haunting, signifying the power the word can emit whenever in usage.

Karma means "action" or "deeds" in it's most simplest explanation. According to the principle of Karma, whatever you do will find a way of impacting your life in one or the other.

Although, Karma has gone mainstream, and is used to mostly refer to actions related to wrong or right, Karma actually doesn't reflect that in it's description and meaning. Most usage of Karma in modern day parlance often refer to it as some sort of universal force that pays you for doing bad or good. This has popularised the word even more, including generating other sweet words like "karmic debts".

But, is Karma real?

I'm sure there are thousands or millions of literary works on the subject. But, when we look at it very well, you realise that if Karma is explained only in the sense that it governs bad or good deeds, it will definitely fall short.

Cause and effect of actions is real. But, what is even more real is that the person you think will suffer huge repercussions for the alleged evil they did, may even live a more happy and fulfilled life. The funny thing is, that is the everyday life we are living in.

Look at Nigeria, bad leadership continues because it is being enabled in one way or the other by the led. The persons perpetuating the bad governance are still around, and probably even scheming as you read this.

Another person is not going to have a havoc-filled life just because they broke your heart for example. The person can break your heart and become a sweetheart to another person, wed and born beautiful children. You may even be constantly seeing their pictures in your Facebook feeds because you are probably mutual friends.

Things don't always go the way we want it. Well organized events rarely ever go as planned. Have you ever seen anything go exactly the way you planned or wrote it down word for word? It doesn't happen. A great footballer may go on to a pitch and have a bad day even after doing all the right training. A person may read very well and still forget everything they read in exam hall only to remember it after all.

If Karma worked the way it is imagined, the world would have been a better place. Unfortunately, Karma doesn't work in the manner you think it does. You cannot allow yourself fall into the karma trap, as it is going to mess with your mind.

A thief who suceeds in his first robbery starts to thinks he can steal and go away with it because they probably got away with it the first time. What the thief forgets to understand is that the same variables that enabled the first success may not be there the next time around.

KEVIND:
Hmmmm Johnny Drille, one of the very best.
Nigerians don't fancy his kind of music because there is no Nudity, Ukwu, Sex,drugs in his music.

I think it's mostly because his A&R team have not packaged him for the right audience.

Obviously, his type of music is not mainstream, but that does not make his genre unpopular.

Besides February get 29th and 30th?Ritualists and one chance offers

Na wa to you o.

Kriss216:
You sef dull o

U self eeh!

If u know anyone interested to work for 3 days at an event N200,000 per day on 29th, 30th, 31st Feb 2020, Let me know.

I have five spaces left.

Humanoid01:
Just because you haven't had a personal experience doesn't make it a lie. There are billions of people around the world, and thousands who have claimed to have such experiences in various forms and magnitudes, so why should I believe it's a lie simply because one person said so?

I don't know what makes you free thinkers (who're also Nigerians) think that you are better than other Nigerians who believe in things that elude logical reasoning. What makes you people think you're smarter/more intelligent than those who believe these things?

You see.

You have left the subject matter and you are now talking about religious and non-religious affiliations.

A smart person will not do that!

WhatCanIsay:
Ignorance is a bliss... It becomes more spicy when peppered with generalisation.

It's ignorance to believe that what you know is the consummation of knowledge.

Let The Truth And Facts Set Us Free!

Humanoid01:
I've never really had a personal experience of these things, but with the stories I've been reading on this forum and elsewhere, I think there's a reason to believe. Why would those people lie about their experiences? We all rely on science and logical reasoning, but there are many things we cannot explain due to our human limitations.

@bolded,
Well, if there is no explanations for it at the moment, why not leave it at that?

I assure you that all Nigerian ghost stories are a lie.

Lol. Funny.

Nigerians can believe anything. I mean this is same people that believe Donkeys talk and that a fish swallowed Jonah.

Surely it can't be hard believing such cock and bull stories about Nigerian dead people acting out after being dead.

Funny how the same dead people can't channel the same powers into bringing themselves back to life. Instead, they're always bothered about food or stopping a moving vehicle or slapping someone who entered corpse room without knocking.

People who are not used to seeking explanations and doing proper research about anything are always quick to make assumptions about unrelated incidents and tag them supernatural.

Till date, it's usually, "they said" "someone told me" "vehicle stopped" bla bla bla bla bla'.

Na wa o.

ddippset:
it's been ages.

Were you been?

Been around o.

I see the thread goes on as usual.

Is This The End?

https://uptownerd.com/2021/02/21/is-this-the-end-for-lionel-messi-at-barca/

After Tuesdays defeat to Paris Saint Germaine in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, I’m sure this question will be heavy in the mind of most Barca fans. Former Barca President and current presidential candidate, Joan Laporta all but agrees that the task of keeping Lionel Messi at the club now is a herculean task. Again, when one takes a retrospective look at the transfer fiasco between FC Barcelona and their star player earlier in the season, reality starts to get clearer.
