Now if I don't appreciate my country how will I expect a South African to sing my praise. The fact remains that if we all can forget about the bunch of failures called govt and focuse on changing our individual way of life for good, who knows MY BELOVED COUNTRY could soar higher some day, GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!!!!!!!

YOU MAY HATE THE GOVT BUT YOU SHOULD NOT HATE YOUR COUNTRY cos govt will come and go but your country (nation) is one.

Politics › Re: Tallest Buildings In Nigeria by PHIPEX(m): 9:50pm On Oct 03, 2011
I wonder how many of these people claming ownership of tall buildings have actually entered it ( I don't even mean transacted in it), just because they see its beautiful pictures on TV. This is like Northerners celebrating for having rule more than other tribes while they champion Poverty as well.

Abeg lets wake upand stop this egocentrism

Politics › Re: Illiteracy Rate In Nigeria Is Up To 70% - Vc by PHIPEX(m): 9:16pm On Sep 25, 2011
Behold what wikipedia has to say about literacy rate in Nigeria

LiteracyDefinition: Entire population of all ages who can read and write in any language
Total population: 78.6%
Male: 84.35%
Female: 72.65% (all: National Bureau of Statistics, 2010 National Literacy Survey)[8]

source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Nigeria#Literacy

This is what encarter says about it too

Adult literacy is estimated to be 78 percent for men and 64 percent for women—an improvement over years past resulting from universal primary education and programs for adult literacy. Official data, however, estimate literacy only in English, thus discounting the significant level of literacy in Arabic among northern Muslims.

Where then did our "prof" get his stats from?

Please can somebody who knows better explain?
Business › Re: World Bank To Assist Fg On Job Creation - Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by PHIPEX(m): 9:43pm On Sep 23, 2011
I thought this woman has something to offer Nigerians. Her algorithm to job creation is very lame and totally ridiculous. How will you be tackling unemployment problem without first ascertaining the number of unemployed people in the country. As is stands now, our government doesn't even know the actual population of Nigeria let alone the number of unemployed persons. So how can you be talking about job creation in this situation. First, we need a comprehensive national database that will capture every citizen in the country and several other information as it relate to the citizens and the country such as -immigrants, students, nationals, non-nationals, unemployed, employed and the sector were the work, the wage earned by the employed(cos most of the acclaimed employed persons are underemployed), number of dependents, health record, criminal record, number of people enrolled each yr in our school system, expected year of graduation( so that the govt can plan to create job for them in advance), birth rate and death rate etc. In the absence of actual and realistic figures for these variables, any plan- be it crime control, job creation, vision 2020,etc embarked upon by our govt will just amount to an absolute mirage. God bless Nigeria.

my friend update ur data, census on the unemployed has already been carried out. and who told you they don't know the possible number of unemployed in the country, some times some of us talk as if we know far better than those who truely know.

I just graduated from the University where I studied Economics and just wrote my ATS3 papers. I read the ICAN PROFESSIONAL syllabus cos I want to register for it but am not cleared in the following areas.

1. ICAN attaches great importance on practical training of her students, is ICAN responsible for fixing her students up in the places they will aquire the practical experience?

2. Since all students pass thesame ICAN exams, what do they  mean by ICAN faculties?

I wll be glad to get positive answers to these questions.

Business › Re: Nigeria Plans To Overtake Egypt & RSA On Economic Growth by PHIPEX(m): 11:10am On Sep 10, 2011
I agree completely with Onyocha, even though am happy that Gaddafi is out of power, but I can't stop wondering why the "Samaritan west" have turned a blind eye on Somalia that has been in crises for over 20years but chose to take off Gaddafi from a stable country.
Nigerians may be abysmally corrupt but I know that some of the economic sabotage we are witnessing in the country especially in power sector are their handiwork. Don't be surprised that they know more than we think about Boko Harram afterall a west that can support Islamic Militants to remove Gaddafi can support any group in Nigeria to keep us in "check" and ensure that their 2015 prophecy is realised. I believe with time Wikileak may prove me right.

When Soludo made a similar statement years ego he was attacked from all angle in the north, Thank God once of their own has seen the vision of what lies ahead. Maybe when other part of the country must hv moved ahead, they will then be the one to champion the one Nigeria ideology Every one know the fact that Nigeria is regarded as a poor country today is because of the North, u can check global and regional statistics if u doubt.

Truely charity is beginning at home, if the govt can not patronise the local manufacturers, how can they expect the citizens to do same. the likes of zinox is improving daily because of the level of support they are getting from the govt and fellow Nigerians. I expect more from the fed govt. kudos to chime.

@ A Chigozie: I consider it rather absord for you to expect me to rejoice with Dangote only when he gives you and I spidends to spend every month. you left our fatherland for another man to develop yet finds it appropriate to complain that he is not doing enough, you probably left to excape the high rate of unemployment in the country yet he offers jobs to thousand of Nigerian perhaps including that your brother you left behind. if you think he has not DONATED enough money then come back home and complement him or does Nigeria only belong to his family. For your knowledge, Dangote group contributes so much to our GDP for Nigerians to share through its productivity, employmant generation and taxes and who knows if the road that leads to your village was constructed from his tax. Pls come back home and help us bacause Dangote alone can not do it.
Politics › Re: Dangote Announces $2m Fellowship For Young Africans by PHIPEX(m): 11:14am On May 13, 2011
@ A Chigozie: Instead of ridiculing your fellow Nigerians concerns, perhaps you should try and understand their point of view. I don't know what the other wealthy Nigerians do for your country, but that doesn't excuse Dangote's behavior. You shouldn't be so easily appeased with the "idea" of having a wealthy Nigerian, just for the sake of it. That is asinine thinking that too many non-wealthy people get caught up in. Dangote and others need to first and foremost be about Nigeria when it comes to charitable giving. He should be about training Nigerians to dominate in global affairs, don't be naive thinking that a South African or a Libyan or a Sundanese will have the best interest of all of Africa, they will always be about their nations first, and secondly for Africa. Wise up stop basking in another man's wealth, when it does nothing for you.

I consider it absord you to expect me to rejoice with Dangote on when he gives you and I spidends every month. you left your fatherland for another man to develop yet finds it appropriate to say that he is not doin enough, you left to excape the high rate of unemployment in the country yet he offers jobs to thousand of Nigerian perhaps even that your brother you left behind here. if you think he has not DONATED enough money the come back home and complement him or does Nigeria only belong to him. for your knowledge the Dangote group contribute so much to our GDP for Nigerians to share through its tax and who knows if that road that leads to your village was constructed from his tax. some of my countrymen are so inept, when a good thing comes out of the country, the next question becomes "how dare he do such, who does he think he is afterall" yet when the person loots away our Billion to run election, we queue behind him and even fight for him if things go contrary to our expectations. To those who ask what he has done for nigeria, how much has the likes of IBB and other generals who stole our oil windfall given back to us?
Dangote is a businessness man who will naturally capitalise on any opportunity to make money, he is no different from Bill Gate. if you cry that he is a monopoly, then attempt to challenge him if you have the gut otherwise close your mouth. He is indeed "proudly Nigeria".

I cry for the fate of Save Nigeria Group, a group I loved and respected, so vocal and powerful but died so soon; all thanks to a Muslim Lawyer turned Christian,  pastor turned civil right activist, turned politician turned, God knows what next. there seem to be a very strong correlation  between Bakare and Okotie. I would have loved to see him refoem from the pulpit rather than from Aso Rock. obasanjo will be laughing louder by now. grin grin grin

Politics › Re: Pat Utomi On Utomi And Volkswagen Of Nigeria by PHIPEX(m): 9:31pm On Jan 04, 2011
I can never be surprised by the attitude of my country men, am sure had Pat Utomi been an American and a professor from London Business School, then when he says all these, then many of those who claim to know more than their brains can EVER imagine would have directed their blame games to our corrupt and inept govt.

how can some one with his senses right still have the gut to Blame a man who has come publicly to tell Nigerians what transpired at the helm of affair. As a student of Economics, I know for sure that the Structural Adjusted programme has been one of the worst if not the worst Economics policy Nigeria has ever adopted let alone when such a policy came barely weeks after he assumed office.

Can any one really mention a Nigerian Technocrat that Nigerians has ever celebrated without someone coming out with our usual PULL HIM DOWN SYNDROME mentality. the likes of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Oby Ezekwesily, Wale Soyinka etc are usually celebrated by foreigners but once they come back home some one who could not pass his WAEC without seeking for Expo and special Centres will come to Naira land and claim to be a professor.

How can we still expect our intellectuals to dismantle the current kingdom of our politicians when we who should know better are looking for loop holes to discredit their intellectual sagacity. The save Nigeria Group will soon die yet we expect our great minds to come together and lead the way.

For better understanding Economists only prescribe policies, they cannot enforce them, if indoubt go and ask Obasanjo.

the only thing I still remember is that TWO WRONGS can not make a right. Almustapha erred by being the guy who POINTS AND KILLS, FG too by being unable to pin him down after 11yrs. Though justice delayed is justice denied but justice should not just be done but must be seen to be done (na so lawyers for court talkam). Now beyond his own fundamental right to freedom, can the families of those he is accused of POINTING AND KILLING, see this as justice?

I ask again DOES TWO WRONGS MAKE A RIGHT?

Politics › Re: Igbo Must Be President In 2015. It Is Sacrosanct And Sacred- ATIKU by PHIPEX(m): 10:26pm On Dec 20, 2010
The norths has been in power for decades yet remain the poorest in the country ( if in doubt check out Nigeria poverty stats), in as much as we the Igbos should have what rightly belong to us afterall 'what is good for Greece is good for Uganda' yet it will be folishness to sacrifice the golden Goodluck opportunity God has givine to Nigeria to better our lives as a people and RESTORE OUR DIGNITY, just to allow an Igbo man sit in power. Remember that both the supporters and the opponents of the current Governors in the east are feeling the impact of bad governance (Kidnappings). why should we throw away the GOOD BABY with the water. Am more concerned with good governance than wallowing in the emotions of having my kinsman in power.

Remember that our own Ndi Okereke sacrificed almost all to see a Black American in power, of what special advantage has she derived from it more than other Nigerians except emotional fantacies. If the Igbos remains the most comfortable in Nigeria with respect to Standard of living (Checks poverty index in the country) even without the presidency, Why should we die of bad governance between now to 2015 in a bid to win the presidency in 2015, as far as i know, 2015 is sure for us but lets remain alive first to see the year come by through Good governance, I rest my case.
Politics › The Beginning Of The End For The North by PHIPEX(op): 9:54pm On Dec 20, 2010
Every right thinking Nigerian knows that the choice of Atiku as the concensus candidate of the north will remain their greatest political blunder as a political block since independence. This is because Atiku can not go beyond PDP primaries, though no one can rule out the posibility of his decamping once again as has become his manner. but beyond 2011, the idea of a CONSENSUS candidate is dead as far as the politics of the north is concerned because no good thing seem to have come out of the efforts of the seemingly wise men from the north rather bitterness and dirty schemings. Come to think of it which other politician do you think will agree once again to abide by the outcome of a search for a CONSENSUS candidate? Which means that even if the north decides to attempt once again for the presidency in 2015 as I expect, there may be more than four 'INDEPENDENT' candidates from the zone thus dividing their votes and giving other zones a chance to take the lead once again. HOW ARE THE MIGHTY FALLEN?

how on earth could Nigerian have voted a man who could not manage a single state well, I would have loved to see him taste defeat once more so that we will see if he will blame Obasanjo this time.
