ib55:In my opinion, this should be his personal blunder, is this gud enough for a national award? |
MY NOMINEE: Francis Arthur Nzeribe PERFORMANCE: 1. In 1993, Association for Better Nigeria (ABN), an association formed by Nzeribe succeeded, with the diabolical assistance of the military government in power at that time, to truncate irredeemably the transition programme of retired General Babangida 2.Nzeribe floated another association, Union of Democratically Elected Representatives of Nigeria, UDERN, which championed the call for Abacha’s self-succession, on the gratuitous assumption that Nigeria would turn upside down if Abacha did not succeed himself. 3. After tabling a motion for President Obasanjo’s impeachment, "the chameleon" has MONAC to work for the adoption of the incumbent president as the sole presidential candidate of the three inchoate political parties in 2003. Ordinarily, I would have given it to OBJ but I believe this guy is a more genus than IBB. |
Several Awards have been organised by different groups in the country but it seems like one important area of our lives is being left out. You are hereby implored in the interest of the nation to nominate your worst politician of all times in the country. CONDITIONS 1. Such a politician must be alive at present. 2. He must have played active politics at the national stage. 3. You must avoid ethnic or religious bias. 4. State clearly what he did to deserve our prestigious award and possible induction into our DUMBEST POLITICIANS HALL OF FAME. NOTE: The winner of this award must be given a national recognition by the Journalists in the house. |
@okija and @jmoore lol, like i said earlier, i'm enjoying the humor from peoples response to this topic even though a greater number of people are still replying the topic question with answers to "where they would chose to live/stay" Maybe i sounded a lil bit harsh by using the word "ignorant" in my previous post so for that i apologize (see, i'm nice and charming by default )@okija, "Kunta kinte", really bro? the question is not "where u want to be born during the slavery era" BTW, how can u even prove we are not worse off right now? (i'm just saying), considering we do not have statistics to back up the following: 1) child slavery and abuse 2) police or uniform men brutality and so on Let me give a brief run down, when a nation is wore torn or on the brick of crisis, do u know what most developed countries do? they spend their tax payers money to make sure they get every single one of their citizens out of that zone (no exceptions). should i tell u what our leaders do with our tax money? your guess is as good as mine. (bosom Bar is definitely among )True, US has its history, but the people fought for it. What have we the citizenry in Nigeria done? (1) If Abacha didn't die of natural causes, i bet he would still be ruling us till this very day, nobody will cough 2) Can u think of the nig. military respecting the right of the people like how the Egyptian forces did during their uprising? ) Choosing to grow or be born in a society because of the incentive "that things don't work" or are not organized is really amazing. Well, everybody has their reason sha! But like i tried to point out in my initial post, i would just appreciate it if you/we could state the reason we prefer nig (or any other country than just blind patriotism.)
I can see that you have been brain-washed by the Americans.Monkey no fine but him Mama love am die. If all Americans ran to Britain before they got developed would people have had the gut to mention it in a forum like this? You better wake up and realise that no matter how American you want to claim, your still a foreigner. By the way who told you that Abacha died a natural death? |
uzobiz:I can't believe he said that ![]() greateros:How can a minister of information not know the Origin of Facebook? |
For the first time in along time, no single individual cared to know which part of the country the two actors are coming from. How I wish our discussions will be as sane this. Though I considered it a drama but I'v learnt alot. |
My villa, on the east of the Niger. |
I love this drama, NOLLYWOOD take note. Watch out for Part 3. Grab your copy Now! Now!! Now!!! Guy, I don't envy you shaa, take heart!!! |
Am having a mixed feeling |
I said it before on this forum and am saying it again that even though I don't like Gaddafi but am sure that NATO has alterior motive for their "huge investment" in Libya. What is NATO waiting for to intervane in Somalia? Perhaps cos there will be no positive return on their investments - no Oil to loot. Can some one remind me How long Paul Biya of Cameroun has been in power, where then is our good samaritan france? Can you ever imagine NATO intervening in a country like Niger Republic on humanitarian ground? I just hope some of us will be wise enough to know that this same NATO may support militants or even Boko Haram tomorrow if our govt fail to protect their interest. On One Nigeria I stand |
Our minister are corrupt but not in this case. |
Operation Do or Die Biafran offensive in late October 1969 to reopen the route to the Otuocha food producing area between Onitsha and Abagana. This was a direct response to the Federal Operation ‘Finishing Touch’ I didn't know we were this important during the war. |
Why is this Union people always championing waste in the country? They are on one hand fighting against subsidy removal while on the other hand taking away 5billion naira from the country. |
I don't think I can take any news from Sahara reporters serious, I usually compare them to the regular evening newspapers in Lag. If its true let a major paper publish it in Nigeria. |
Now that am expecting our own batch to be in March, It's unfair for Northern corpers to peacefully enjoy their service in my village while I run all over a northern village like a common criminal. Lord hear my prayer! |
I asked this question in the first place not because am interested in glorifing Biafran achievements but for us to see that Nigeria really has all it takes to "colonise" Africa economically. No matter how crude these technological inventions were, I believe that if they were improved on, some of them could hv emmerged as some of the wonders of the world. Can we find a way to directly get across to those in power to explain why they allow our local inventors to die off while we go about patronising Made-in-china products as if they were produced by angels. Some of our locally made goods has been simply branded "Aba made" just to cast aspersions on them. Why should we allow tribal sentiments to kill our enterprenueral ingenuity? Why are we busy destroying locally made refinaries when our govts can't give us a better one? Why should we simply forget a great inventor just because he is an "aboki" who is not supposed to invent anything good except Boko Haram bombs? Why has Seun or whoever is in charge refused to move this topic to front page or is it because its about Biafra? God save Nigeria! |
Biafra Built 3 Planes In 3 Years Why Has Nigeria Not Built One 40 Years After I don't intent to draw up tribal sentiments but I don't also believe in throwing away the baby with the birth water. I was reading the account of the Biafran war on Wikipedia and discovered that Biafrans built 3 war planes themselves in Gabon which they named "Biafran Babies" during the civil war. Why then has the Nigerian Economy not been able to build a single plane 40 years after the war? Please constructive response is expected. |
Good move I DEY LAF in my village language ![]() |
kabasa77:Thank u so much. you can as well add this to it 1Jo 5:7( NKJV) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one |
Guk:My friend go and sitdown, is BA the only airline around? It's probably because of ur type that these foreign govts treats us as if we are worthless because they know we shall come to beg for our rights. Learn to take ur right elso no one will give it to u. |
The progress of the Igbos in the Nigerian state can simply be likened to that of the Germans and Britain. German leader wronged the World, They fought the War but lost woefully both economically and politically. Britain celebrated their victory over the Germans but decades after the war, the British economy is on a downward trend while the Germans did not only overtake Britain economically but has become a major force in the world economy. If the Nigerian nation refuses to right their wrong, then there is no problem. I will only pray to remain alive to withness more economic prosperity for my people. 1Sa 30:8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. |
After the divorce, WHAT NEXT? |
Am very much interested in this biz, can some one please tell me how much a good bus costs for transport biz within Lagos. the price of a new bus and a fairly used one will be appreciated. |
Oh, Nigerians are truely more corrupt than the TI says, I can bet that half of the people that are in support of the "youngest Millionaire" will be in Church tomorrow disturbing the ears of God with their shoutings and dancing and the next day they will come to Nairaland to tell us how corrupt the Govt officials are. If a man can support a criminal in the name of rescueing the family why will he not kill to get rich, why will he not loot to "rescue his community". I WEEP FOR MY COUNTRYMEN. Plenty religion and plenty corruption. |
The level of hypocrisy in this country is great, I am a fan of fashola but not in this one. I remember how the public cried out against this similar thing when it happened in UNN about two yrs ago for "just" about 100% increase in tuition fees. How will consumers of bread in Nigeria (since its a basic commodity) react if the govt removes the subsidy on fertilizer and cause the price of Bread to increase to about 300% of its current price. Then you will hear some of us crying out that its only the poor that consume bread. Yes there may be need to increase the tuition fee but why to such an exobitant price. I wish he also increase the price we pay for BRT so that I will see how we will react. This is a bad public policy because it is not in the interest of the majority. I will assume that for a 900% increase in price of the tuition fee, there will be about a 1000% drop in the demand for tertiary education in the school and I wonder in whose interest that will be. |
Kay1kay1:Yes, one of the goals of any reasonable administration whether public or private is to get a good public perception (if ur in doubt, ask the banks) because as a nation it could in a longer way determine the rate of foreign Direct Investment that flow into ur nation. yes, we shouldn't over-celebrate these ratings but I bet that if this particular rating came in a negative way most of us that are saying all these things would have also used it against the current administration. How many of u will invest in a country that is rated Negative? |
Rafaell:May be we should send one more petition to NLC, who knows they will organise a strike action against d police ![]() OH! who shall deliever us from d bondage on THE MEN IN BLACK. |

Now what stops the oil companies from utilising the rail system in distributing their products and save the few kilometers of road that is still motorable in the country from total collapse? |
