A group that is made up of one member- Mike Msuaan is what Authority Newspaper is classifying as Northern Youths? Mike Msuaan is a well known political beggar, just the other day, he went on a visit to Lamido, yet he supports APC's George Akume online and worships El Rufai on Facebook. A man who is nearly 50 and claiming to be a Youth. He finished from Adeyemi College in 1989. He has not achieved anything in life so he is desperately looking for a breakthrough.
These IPOB newspapers and wailers can cry as loud as they want but Buhari will rule this country back to back till 2023 as long as he hunting down corrupt animals like rats and doing an OK job in the economy.

• As Metuh’s office denies N1.4bn or N4m monthly from Dasuki Northern youths yesterday protested the continued incarceration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman, Olisa Metuh at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters.
The youths under the aegis of Northern Youth Network (NYN) threatened to sue the Federal Government if the EFCC does not charge Metuh to court or release him within 48 hours.
Displaying a banner with the inscription “a solidarity protest for our democracy. President Muhammadu Buhari should allow democracy to stay. A call for immediate release of Chief Olisa Metuh, the mouthpiece of Nigeria constructive opposition party,” the group said President Buhari should be fair enough to invite All Progressives Congress (APC) members like Bola Tinubu and others alleged to have funded his campaigns.
Speaking on behalf of the group, NYN President, Comrade Mike Msuaan, said though they were in support of Buhari’s fight against insurgency, Buhari’s government should know that no nation thrives without constructive criticism from the opposition.
Msuaan explained that the group is not partisan neither does it belong to any political party, adding that the position of the group is to fight against violation of human rights.
He said that the continued incarceration of Metuh and other people in EFCC custody is a violation of their right, calling on the anti-graft agency to take them to court as EFCC is not a court of law.
He said APC should know that it was in opposition before and PDP allowed it to operate, adding that there is nowhere in the world a ruling party can deliver on its campaign promises unless prompted by opposition.
He said: “When you arrest, charge to court. We urge the Federal Government to charge Metuh to court within 48 hours. We will not accept if anything happens to him in detention.”
Meanwhile, the office of the PDP National Publicity Secretary has noted certain apparently sponsored reports in some section of the media dropping figures and falsely claiming that Metuh got the sum of N1.4 billion in addition to receiving N4 million monthly stipend from the Office of the former National Security Adviser.
Metuh, in a statement by his Special Assistant, Richard Ihediwa said the reports were completely false, mischievous and fabricated to mislead the public and derail the course of proper investigation on issues relating to Metuh.
The office said: “For the avoidance of doubt, neither Chief Metuh nor his office received the figures being bandied. We therefore challenge the EFCC to substantiate that Chief Metuh received the said N1.4 billion figure as well as make public any evidence that he ever received N4 million monthly stipend from the Office of the National Security Adviser. http://www.authorityngr.com/2016/01/Northern-youths-protest-over-Metuh-s-detention-threaten-FG-/ |

Obiagelli: I came across this hashtag and i was like what is going on here? Looks like the usual suspects or their copycats are back again, it is barely a year into the present administration and we are marching and printing t-shirts for what exactly? There's massive work to be done and this administration has not even gotten into 5% of it and we are marching? We should be careful not to create an all is well impression to this administration, our job is to put them on their toes, we should not tolerate mistakes, incompetence or outright impunity (the presidential BMWs).
Are we going back to the days of TAN ambassadors, Fresh air crew, bringbackourgej or the 9 million March for Abacha.
We appreciate the good work the government is doing but going on a march is pure sycophancy.

Politics › EFCC Wants To Force Arrested PDP Spokesman, Metuh, To Write Statement — Fayose. by PhockPhockMan(op): 6:41pm On Jan 08, 2016 |
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to charge the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, to court if the commission has evidence of fraud against him. “The EFCC appears to be operating a system in which an accused person is first arrested, detained endlessly while the anti-corruption agency goes about looking for evidence,” the governor said. Mr. Fayose, who maintained his support for a genuine fight against corruption, challenged the EFCC to also act on petitions submitted to it against All Progressives Congress chieftains and President Buhari’s election sponsors. Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, on Friday, Mr. Fayose cautioned that nothing untoward must happen to Mr. Metuh, adding that the APC’s desperation to decimate and silence the opposition has dragged the Buhari-led government in the mud of lawlessness. The governor said, “In saner climes, you don’t arrest people for alleged fraud and start to look for evidence to prosecute them. Rather, before you arrest anyone for fraud, anti-corruption agencies must have established a prima facie case and arresting the suspect will only be to enable for his or her arraignment in court. “However, what we are witnessing in Nigeria today is a situation whereby the EFCC will arrest PDP leaders, humiliate them by subjecting them to media trial, detain them for weeks in the process of trying to force them to make statements during which the commission will be looking for evidence. “For instance, in the case of Metuh, we are being told that the EFCC is insisting that he must write statements and one begins to wonder if it has now become mandatory for an accused to write statements in law enforcement agent’s custody. Shouldn’t the EFCC have simply charged Metuh to court based on its own evidence? Or is Metuh’s statement the evidence the EFCC requires to prosecute him? “The international community, especially the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), European Union (EU) and others are put on notice on this condemnable act of arresting and detaining opposition leaders by agents of the Buhari-led government before fishing for evidence.” While challenging the President Buhari to extend his anti-corruption crusade to those who sponsored his election, Governor Fayose said any anti-corruption effort that targets only members of the opposition and those with axe to grind with the government of the day can never succeed. “If President Buhari did not wait for any petition to move against PDP chieftains, asking people to come forward with allegations of corruption against APC chieftains, especially those who sponsored President Buhari’s election is clearly hypocritical. “Most importantly, that the EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu even said the commission do not have any petition against APC chieftains when indeed there are loads of petitions against ministers serving in Buhari’s government and other notable APC chieftains goes to show the hypocrisy of the fight against corruption. “It is even more hypocritical and anti-democratic for the President to have turned himself to the accuser, prosecutor and judge, carrying on as if those he accused of corruption have already been convicted,” the governor said. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/196394-efcc-wants-to-force-arrested-pdp-spokesman-metuh-to-write-statement-fayose.html |

Politics › Isis Militant Ali Saqr Al-qasem Publicly Executes His Own Mother. by PhockPhockMan(op): 10:20am On Jan 08, 2016 |
In a shocking low even by the standards of the Islamic State, a militant has publicly executed his own mother after accusing her of apostasy. The activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RIBSS) said 20-year-old jihadi Ali Saqr al-Qasem shot his mother Lena, 45, in the head with an assault rifle in front of a large crowd. Lena al-Qasem is understood to have been accused of apostasy – a crime that usually means leaving one’s religion but in practise is used by Isis as a justification for murdering anybody who doesn’t support or speaks out against the terror group. The exact charge against Ms al-Qasem was “inciting her son to leave the Islamic State and escaping together to the outside of Raqqa”, according to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights. The UK-based conflict monitor said Ali Saqr al-Qasem had reported his mother to his Isis superiors, who then sentenced her to death and ordered him be the one to kill her. The Observatory said hundreds of people turned out to watch Ms al-Qasem's execution. It is not known why her son was given the task of killing his own mother but the reason the execution took place outside Raqqa’s post office is because that is where Ms al-Qasem had worked. The news comes as Isis’ chief spokesman in neighbouring Iraq, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, was reportedly left with severe injuries following an airstrike. Al-Adnani, who has been singled out as a potential successor should anything happen to Isis’ leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, required initial emergency treatment in the jihadi-held city of Hit after losing large amounts of blood, Iraq’s Joint Operations Command said. He has since been moved to Isis’ Iraq-stronghold of Mosul, MailOnline reported, adding that his condition remains unknown. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/isis-militant-ali-saqr-al-qasem-publicly-executes-his-own-mother-in-raqqa-after-accusing-her-of-a6801811.html |

hinwazaka: The President and his party came up with the "broke" jingle as a means to convince the IMF to finance their ludicrous, extravagant white elephant projects this year. Remember PTF, and the refineries built in the eighties. The President is a master of corruption and money laundering. This is always his gimmick. But unfortunately for him, his plans were leaked to the opposition and some influential elements in our society. This led to a secret meeting in Stockholm, between some Nigerians, some top western media hotshots and some members of the IMF. In this meeting, the plans of the President backed by verifiable documents and files was laid bare to the foreign attendants of this meeting. Consequently, the truth was made known to the IMF chief, who immediately canceled the discreet and hidden loan application by our government. This is the reason for the EFCC clampdown on the governmen t's perceived enemies, under the guise of corruption. Also the review of the fictitious budget, was brought about by this. We are in trouble. This is an eye opener. |

Politics › Dokpesi : Dasukigate Is Witch-hunt, Doesn’t Exist. The Cable. by PhockPhockMan(op): 5:48pm On Jan 06, 2016 |
Raymond Dokpesi, founder of DAAR Communications, has accused the federal government of vilifying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissing the probe of the abuse of security funds under the last administration. Dokpesi, who is currently undergoing prosecution for allegedly receiving N2.1 billion from the office of the national security adviser (NSA) for the media campaign of the PDP, vowed that his party would fight what he described as injustice, till the very end.
He alleged that the current administration was taking Nigeria back to the era of dictatorship but said his party which is bent at the moment, would not be broken.
Dokpesi was speaking in Abuja on Wednesday after his investiture as the patron of the PDP Youth Vanguard and honour as ‘the freedom fighter of PDP’.
“So much political water has passed under the bridge since the general election of April 2015, so much have been said about our members, many of whom have been publicly vilified even without being heard,” he said.
“Even as I speak to you now the relentless pursuit of our members across the country is being intensified and I can say to some measure of certainty that a lot more light in store for the PDP and its members. Our party, the People Democratic Party, played a key role in the entrenchment of democracy in the country.
“We will not be weakened or demoralised in playing our role as the important opposition voice which is very critical ingredient in any democratic state. We may be harassed, we may even be bent, but we are resolute and will not be broken.
“In the 16 years in power, it brought about major reforms in the economy, communication, technology and business which has today made Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa.
“The democratic freedom upon which the now ruling party rode to power is made possible by PDP government, which ensured fundamental human right of citizens to freely express themselves were guaranteed, even at the expense of its existence as the then ruling party.
“Legislation like freedom of information act are realities of the PDP government. And I dare say that even the EFCC, the ICPC, and all the agencies that are today said to be dealing with issues of corruption were brought in place by PDP government.
“I speak in regard to the several matters before the law court of our country concerning PDP members and especially my humble self on charges filed against us by the federal government.
“The provisions of section 287 of the constitution are very clear on the obedience of court orders by all arms of government.
“Having said so, I must assure you that there is nothing like the much flaunted $2.1 billion dollars arms deal, it does not exist. It’s a figment of the imagination of the current administration in an attempt to disseminate, misinform, destroy the very root of the PDP and you must stand, each and every one of you must stand for the Peoples Democratic Party.
“I have unshakeable faith that the youth are not just the future but the present of our dear country Nigeria, and must be active if the heart-felt democracy is to be sustained and protected.”
Dokpesi said his company has survived “oppression” from the powers that be in the past, and would remain alive to check “monstrous powers of the state”.
He added that the PDP would not go into extinction as a result of its current challenges.
“As I have said not too long ago we must stand resolutely united especially in the face of this momentary political adversity, for one thing I want to say again that the PDP is not dead, that the PDP is not dying, and the PDP will not die,” he said.
“The persecution of the former national security adviser, the persecution of the publicity secretary of the peoples democratic party, the chairman board of trustees, we will by the special grace of God remain proud when we start our defences in court.
“Some of us are reminded the event of the 1984/85 years which by any stretch of comparison as similar to the unfolding event of today… Free press is as important as other element that help to check the monstrous power of the state.
“DAAR communication plc, owners and proprietor of African Independent Television, Raypower Fm, Faaji FM, and other subsidiaries, has from inception had been at the fore front in the fight against impunity and promotion of democracy even from the military days in this country.
“We have weathered the storm of oppression, we have been vilified many times, we have also been persecuted in our constitutional duties to make government and government official accountable to the Nigerian people, but we never wavered. During the infamous third term tenure, elongation agenda, we dared to speak; we dared to speak up, but spoke.
“We have always been on the part of human right, citizen participation in the democratic process, transparency and accountability, these ideals have not changed. We will support any policy of government that seeks to promote the ideals of good governance, but we will also not be cowed to speak up where we disagree.”
Dokpesi’s outburst is coming a day after his son, who is chairman of DAAR Communications, led top management staff of the organisation to the presidential villa to present a giant seasonal card to President Muhammadu Buhari. https://www.thecable.ng/dokpesi-dasukigate-doesnt-exist-its-witch-hunt |

Buhari says Nigeria is broke! He said he inherited a very bad economy from GEJ and that there was so much rot in the last system. However, the IMF president (managing director) said the state of the economy does not require IMF intervention. Infact, she said the economy is far better than it was 4 years ago when she last visited . What does this message tell Nigerians? Considering the fact that Buhari has not really made any economic policy since he assumed office, it means that those who managed the economy before he came on board, did a very good job!
