Politics / Wike’s Newly Appointed Special Assistants Now 50,000, Is This Proper And Normal? by phoneport(m): 8:11am On Oct 14, 2022
At a time many Nigerians were wondering what the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, would do with 28,000 special assistants especially towards the tail end of his administration, his government has increased the number to 50,000,

Many fear the appointments do not make any economic sense, while others think it could be about the upcoming elections.

But Media Aide to the Governor, Kelvin Ebiri, in a statement in Port Harcourt on Thursday confirmed the 50,000 review, adding that the appointments took immediate effect.

The conditions of service may not be clear yet but the enormity of the financial involvement is discernable at N100,000 salary for each assistant.

This, observers fear, would run into billions monthly. Won't this affect the states economy adversely?

Why will Woke of all people do this, is this proper and normal?

Religion / “islamophobic” Polaris Bank Under Fire For Banning Muslim Friday Prayer by phoneport(m): 3:52pm On Oct 13, 2022
A commercial bank based in Nigeria, Polaris Bank, is being strongly criticised for prohibiting its Muslim staff from observing Jummah prayer (Friday prayer).
In a leaked email sighted by Newsbreak.ng, one of the bank’s supervising staff, Damilola Adebara, said the financial institution does not have a policy that allows any employee to go for religious activities during work hours.

The email showed that the staff are working under its YES centre, a branch of its customer service.
The mail read partly read: “Dear All, It has been observed that on Fridays, you leave your work desks to attend the Jumat service bearing in mind the impact of your absence on the work-flow and productivity of Yes Center.”

“Kindly note that there is no provision made anywhere in the Bank’s policy for employees to attend any religious activities during work hours.

“Going forward such permissions would not be granted on the Yes Center platform and any infraction of this directive would be dealt with accordingly.

“You are all expected to acknowledge the receipt of this mail. Thank you.”

Reacting to the mail, the bank in a statement on Thursday said the staff’s submission does not represent its position as a corporate entity.
"The attention of the Bank has been drawn to a shared screenshot of mail sent by a supervisor to staff in her department in respect of Friday prayers. “This is to clarify that Nigeria is a secular nation and our Bank is guided by this standard.

“Accordingly, there is no policy in the Bank that forbids staff from practicing the religion of their choice; hence the said staff had acted in ignorance and we have since addressed the issue internally.

“We assure all staff, customers, and the public that we will continue to respect the fundamental rights and freedom of worship of every employee,”
Polaris said.

Notwithstanding, several Muslim commenters are fuming on social media, with some customers threatening to end their relationship with the bank.

A protesting Muslim asked investors to withdraw their stock from Polaris Bank.

A Twitter user with the handle Coolex said: “This bank (Polaris) does not like Muslims. A staff of the bank is threatening her subordinates that they should not go to Jumuat prayers.
“Muslims are watching you. We were created to serve God not Polaris.”

In a similar vein, Isma’eel Musa said: “I was about to offer an advice, especially to Muslims, not invest or trade with any Bank where workers’ right (Muslim and Christian) alike are not protected.”

A chainsaw operator, identified as Shosho, was reportedly killed by lightning, at Oke Ayo camp, Oke-Oko community of Alade-Idanre, in Ondo State while cutting a tree said to have been in existence for over 80 years.

Shosho reportedly died on the spot, when cutting the tree popularly known as ‘Koleagbe’ in the community, which nobody had ever attempted to cut.

It was learned that [b]the victim
, who was from the Eastern part of the country, was buried at the spot of the incident.

Speaking with Vanguard, a source said the lightning was like an electric spark and it shook the entire community to its root.

We were shocked and we couldn’t comprehend the mystery of the strike. We know from the way the man was killed that it was not ordinary,” the source said.

He said the operator and his sponsor didn’t seek the consent of the owner before cutting the tree.

According to him,”it took the intervention of the traditional rulers of the town, the Owa of Idanre, Oba Fredrick Aroloye before the ‘Aworos’ could perform the burial rites of the deceased, a week after the incident.

A palace source also informed newsmen that the death of the operator had to do with evil forces.

According to him, "there had been an attempt to cut the tree several times, without success. The deceased had attempted to cut the tree once, but his chainsaw got damaged. But because he’s determined to achieve his aim, the operator was said to have attempted it again when he met his untimely death.

Speaking with newsmen, Deputy Chairman of Ayo Camp, Oluwaseun Akinrinlade, described the incident as unfortunate.

Crime / Ugandan Man Went For A Head Surgery, Finds His Kidney Missing After Operation by phoneport(m): 6:00pm On Oct 12, 2022
Police in Kampala are investigating a case in which a 25-year-old petty trader in Owino market (St Balikudembe Market) has accused Old Kampala Hospital of harvesting one of his kidneys without his knowledge after he sought surgical operation at the health facility.

Muhammad Kabanda, a resident of Gangu village on the outskirts of Kampala is said to have visited the said health facility on September 24, 2022 following a boda boda accident along Lukuli road.

Hospital records show that he had sustained severe head injuries.

Mr Kabanda says he was asked to pay Shs3.35 million for the head operation and an additional Shs2 million for medication.

“But when the operation was done I was shocked to discover that I had a fresh incision on the left hand side of my abdomen which could not be satisfactorily explained by the doctors at the facility or their management. I went and did two ultra sound scans; one at Malcom and the second one at Mulago national referral hospital and the reports of radiologists confirmed that my left kidney had been extracted. A CT Scan was also conducted at Mengo Hospital and posted the same results,” narrated Mr Kabanda as he displayed his healing wound and scan results before journalists in Kampala on Tuesday.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Mr Patrick Onyango said they summoned the hospital administration to record a statement.

"They (hospital administration) are yet to respond to our summons. However, we are now waiting for the police surgeon to also give us their findings," Mr Ongango said on Tuesday.

However, the hospital administration said they could not comment on the case citing doctor-patient privilege.

"If that person went to police then it's under investigation. And since it's a medical issue, it needs that person to consent for us to give you any information regarding that issue," Old Kampala Hospital acting medical director, Dr Faisal Kazibw said Tuesday.

Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago who is also Mr Kabanda’s lawyer said cases of illegal kidney harvest in Uganda have spiked.

“There are other cases of similar nature we're pursuing involving a highly connected racket and it's a cause for worry,” Mr Lukwago said.

Politics / Why Is NNPC Lying About The 4km Illegal Oil Pipeline Discovered In Delta? by phoneport(m): 12:04pm On Oct 11, 2022
NNPC makes U-turn, says 4km illegal oil pipeline discovered from Escravos in Delta not Forcados terminal

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC) has said that an oil theft point that operated undetected for nine years ran from the Trans Escravos pipeline in Delta state, and not the Forcados export terminal as previously stated.

This is coming after NNPC’s chief executive officer (CEO), Mele Kyari, had on Saturday, October 8, posted pictures of his visit to the theft point site alongside General Lucky Irabor, Nigeria’s chief of defence staff, on his Twitter page.

The pictures showed that the men inspected the pipelines that appeared to have been buried underground.

Kyari also stated that they inspected the Afremo platform, which was potentially the exit point for the diverted crude, without giving details.
However, an official of NNPC, while speaking on Sunday, October 9, said that the theft point ran from the Trans Escravos pipeline, which can feed the Forcados export terminal.

He added that the discovery of the theft line showed that Nigeria’s coordinated intervention was paying off.

The NNPC official’s comments concur with those from the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC), which operates the Forcados terminal.

SPDC, in a statement released last week, stated that the theft pipeline was approximately 30 kilometres away from the Forcados terminal, and not on the path of its pipelines.

Recall that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), had on Tuesday, October 4, said that it uncovered an illegal 4-kilometre (km) pipeline from Forcados terminal, Delta state, to the sea, and a loading port that had operated undetected in the last nine years.

Mele Kyari disclosed this when he appeared before the senate joint committees on petroleum (upstream and downstream), and gas.

He said that the pipeline was found during a clampdown on theft in the past six weeks.
“Oil theft in the country has been going on for over 22 years but the dimension and rate it assumed in recent times is unprecedented,” Kyari said.

“The Brass, Forcados, and the Bonny terminals, are all practically doing zero production today.

“As a result of oil theft, Nigeria loses about 600,000 barrels per day, which is not healthy for the nation’s economy, and in particular, the legal operators in the field, which had led to a close down of some of their operational facilities,” he added.

According to Kyari, the level of oil theft at hand, poses a blend of both social and security problems.

“It is not only a security problem but social as locals in most areas where the illegal refiners operate, unknowingly serve as their employees by mistaking them for operatives of licensed companies for oil exploration and production in the area,” Kyari said.

“It is not abnormal to involve non-state actors for protection of oil pipelines and other critical infrastructure as done in Cambodia and Mexico which produced desired results.”

Family / Re: Adoption Is Not Worth It At All by phoneport(m): 11:32am On Oct 01, 2022
Adoption or no adoption! hear me, even the children you give birth to by blood connection can turn on you, it takes proper upbringing and God's grace.

TWO THINGS:
First...
Most parents treat adopted children like eggs and not really being firm in treating their 4ck up from childhood, they think that being too strict on them will look as if they are being too sensitive and hard on them.
If you can carry you two legs to go adopting any child, then be ready to be their parent in every area, infact train them more than even the child you give birth to and you will most certainly get a positive feedback.

Secondly...
Some people treat adopted children like; "woris it self, he or she is not truly my child so why should I waste my time, money, and energy on them"
Some become cynical and wicked because Dem nor fit kokoma born hence, begin to transfer frustration on the child; beating the child and maltreatment like animals.
Some will just neglect the child after adoption, as if they are having a second thought like, "Why I even go carry this witch pikin self", especially when they later have children.

NOR BE BY FORCE TO ADOPT
AND WEN YOU DON ADOPT, O BOY BE READY FOR PROPER TRAINING
ME I GO ADOPT JOIN MY CHILDREN BY THE GRACE OF GOD.

Politics / Protest Rocks Osinbajo’s Visit To US, Nigerians Storm Meeting Venue + Video by phoneport(m): 3:02pm On Sep 06, 2022
Some United States of America-based Nigerians have staged a protest against the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) to the country.

Vice President Osinbajo’s visit was to seek global partnerships and support for Nigeria’s recently launched Energy Transition Plan.

During the visit, the Vice President met with his US counterpart, Kamala Harris, who commended him for his commitment.

However, a protest rocked the visit.

The Nigerian protesters, who carried placards with the image of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, wore t-shirts with inscriptions such as: “Omo Yoruba ni mi,” which means: “I am a Yoruba child.”

The protesters said: “No light, no food in Nigeria and they come here to get a loan for energy.

“What energy?

“They also borrowed from China.

“We are here to protest against the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and his entourage.

“The Centre for Global Development is going to address them and we want to tell them no no.

“They want to lend Nigeria the sum of $110 billion and we are here to say no to that.

No more loan to Nigerian Government.

“Nigeria Government are thieves.

“They are using the money for banditry.”

The protesters started shouting harder when they saw a man who they referred to as one of the delegates from Nigeria alight from a car.

They started shouting: “Ole,” a local name for thief.

One of them said: “They are thieves.

“Tell them to come down from the car.”

However, the other supposed delegates did not alight from the car even as the protesters focused their camera to their vehicles.

Politics / One Of Tinubu's Fake Bishop’ At Shettima’s Unveiling Caught With Kabaka (video) by phoneport(m): 12:03pm On Aug 16, 2022
One of the Bishops present at the unveiling of All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, has ditched religiosity weeks after the controversial event.
Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, had disowned the clergymen and women at the event, insisting that they had not sent any of their representatives.

It was also alleged that the bishops were fake and had been hired by the APC to show the Christians’ acceptance of the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

However, in a new clip that has surfaced on social media, one of the bishops seems to prove the numerous doubters right after being pictured with the Edo APC Chieftain, Tony Kabaka, singing a version of Emi lokan to declare support for the presidential candidate of the ruling party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The female bishop captured at the unveiling of the APC vice presidential candidate was seen without her robe amongst other party members dancing and singing along with Kabaka in Edo.

May we all not crash like this in 2023, after our selfish decision for or against any party because of TRIBE, MONEY, OR HEARTED.

We will be waiting for them

That day the ibos will get what they always be asking for.

We have been too lenient with them hence the boldness....they will be put in there place.
You are a tribalist bigot my friend. So holding a rally at Lekki Plaza has suddenly turn Yoruba and Ibo war?
The bullets that killed youths at Lekki Toll-gate, did not distinguish wether anyone was Ibo or Yoruba
The Terrorist Army that came to kill, were ordered by You know Who
And you are here still romancing with your tormentor because of TRIBE.

The V A W U L E N C E you are wishing on others, may turn around and come back to you, be careful.

I am a Nigerian and not a tribalist, and I am not from the East in case you are wondering.
