Hello everyone I recently added a new hobby to my very many list of hobbies. Leather crafting

The stitching pony is a very essential tool especially for holding small items like wallets when stitching. I decided to make my own instead of buying one.

Materials needed.

Scraps of wood
glue
piece of leather
hinge
About 10 screws

it very easy to make money and the tools are also very easy to get. You don't need to get everything, you can always improvise on some of them. You can even make some of them yourself.

Watch out for my video on how to make a stitching pony coming out soon on my YouTube channel Phyllis Craft Works.

3.Basic Tools

Now that you know what skills are needed to complete a project, you should have a basic understanding of what tools are needed for the project as well. The most basic projects will need the following: a knife, glue, needle and thread, diamond chisels, a hammer, and a ruler. Chances are that whatever you're making will need a few additions to that list.

FashionRe: Leather Craft Work For Beginners by phyl123(op): 12:35pm On Feb 04, 2019
2. Basic Skills Needed

There are a number of basic skills in leather working that most projects require, some of these include: saddle stitching, cutting, and edge finishing. Then there are more advanced skills that not all projects need to complete and have more to do with refining a project or larger projects in general. Some of these include: skiving, knife sharpening, and stitching for more unique situations (i.e. box stitch). Try to choose a project that just has these basic skills.

1. The basics
The best thing to do when you're just beginning is to make something that interests you. Not only does this help keep you passionate about completing the project, it also helps you narrow your focus on a few leather working skills instead of being overwhelmed by them all at once. Pick something that is smaller and simple to make, so you can find out if you like leather working before you make a large investment. If you're having troubling thinking of a project here's a few suggestions: a wallet, a card holder, a watch strap, a journal cover, a bracelet, a sunglasses case, a belt, or a dog collar.

Thanks. I'm just trying to do my bit.

I know this may sound cheesy. I know how expensive it is to go on these sewing courses in Nigeria, if there is someone out there who can start earning a living by watching my videos, be it sewing or cake decorating then I know that I have done my bit. I have had a lot of criticism, people sending me messages that I shouldn't be giving out this information for free but I have my reasons for doing what I do. I just hope more people will make use of this opportunity cos sewing is a big earner in Nigeria.
Keep up the good work. Well done.

You are right, the youths are not interested in channels where you can learn something. No wonder the country is one big joke what makes it worse is that the people in it fail to realise it. I shake my head when I see people buying e books. You tube is a sea of knowledge you can lean most skills from there. angry angry huh

Shiitposter:
Aww, how cute. I wish this escalates to WWIII though so that both countries can bomb each other, with North Korea bombing US at just the right places to destroy Google Inc, Amazon AW and any other big internet database site so that the internet would shut down for a while. Nigerians would need to train their local birds to carry their tweets each other.
Be very careful what you wish for.
