Aphrodite007: From an agency. They seem to have sense but the Landlord is the one that’s acting like something is wrong with him. How can you invest in such a lovely expensive place and you don’t want to maintain the house?
So no. I didn’t physically see it before I rented. It was just not possible, my work time and my husbands couldn’t accommodate all our viewings. So I asked for a vid and the agency cleverly did not mention or show the walls and rusty toilet bowls and broken wardrobe handles.
So no agreement was made because I thought I still had the inventory week to complain about the state of the house. I honestly don’t mind fixing it up, but I told them that I’ll destroy it back when I’m leaving. I’m not a maga. The agency should have told you about the condition of the property, so you can do two things, withhold your rent until all your demands are met or you find another place. |

Aphrodite007: Sigh, so technically, we cannot ask the landlord to fix the house because we didn’t see the condition before we accepted it?
OK o. I won’t complain again You are jumping the gun here, I only asked the question because 90% of people will view a property before they move in or get someone to view on their behalf. If the landlord misrepresented the conditions of the place during the time of advert, then this is a different issue. You asked for advice, the only way to advise properly is to find out what you knew and what the agreement was at the beginning of the agreement. Only holidays e.g hotel and holiday home most people will view by pictures and decide not the place you want to make home. If they are too busy they get an agent to view on their behalf. |

Aphrodite007: Hi everyone,
I have a question.
We just moved into a dilapidated house, as we were expecting the landlord to paint the wall, and fix the broken cupboards and curtain holder, change the bed and the couch. But now he has refused to. We told him we would paint and give him the bill, but he said he won’t honour the bill.
Can we report him to Citizens Advice? Or do we paint the walls and scratch them up to this same state when we are leaving?
I don’t think it’s fair that he would live his house in such a condition.
Justwise Lexus Fati lagosismyhome please I need your knowledge biko Did you see the condition of the house before you rented it? Did these conditions reflect in the rent? What was your agreement with the landlord before you took up the property? |

dustydee: Paying herself from the business account is a no no. If she is audited, she may land in trouble. She and her business are separate entities. What she should do is pay herself a salary or dividend from her business account to her personal account (after deducting taxes and NI from the business income) and then pay her bills from her account. We are saying the same thing. The HMRC knows that she has to live . Call it income\ salary/dividend it’s more or les the same. How you present what you’ve taken from the business account at the end of the tax year is all that matters. |

LuvlyIva: assistant under agency. She uses her business account to receive her salary and she open the business as private limited company with companies house. She is paid weekly and it is from that account she pays all her monthly bills. The guy I discussed with said that it is not right to use her business account to pay all the bills. Pls I am confused. Is it compulsory for her to use her personal account? I will appreciate advice please bc we want to apply through self employed. Thank you. What she needs to do is to avoid confusion, she can pay herself an income from the business account into her private account and pay all her bills from her private account. |

spacyzuma: I really don't believe this. It might be true, but they're definitely bad for social services. Everything shouldn't be about capitalism The economy has been stalling for too long, many businesses are in limbo. Without investment, the social services will be in more trouble anyway. |

spacyzuma: I am really disappointed about the results. I didn't want the tories to win. My reasons are the way they have kept underfunding the NHS, social services and the police. I worry about the future of the NHS. Brexit sef, the process of fully leaving the EU will last for years. It's not just gonna happen on Jan 31st. Th sad truth is that at the moment the conservatives at good for the economy. |

I felt Boris was talking about me cause my hand was shaking and I felt like a traitor. My husband and kids have refused to speak to me since I told them who I voted for. |

Psoul: I did not see anything different here. The two under the bridges serve a purpose to the two different environment according to their social and environmental needs.
At one place in Dubai, the under the bridge served the people as a recreation park while somewhere in Nigeria, it serves people as a business area. So what's the big deal? Abi ooh? I was thinking the same thing . The op has got too much time on his hands. |

I can’t really see anything wrong with having a market under bridge. This is not an immediate problem in Nigeria. There are more pressing issues like scarcity of public amenities. In the Uk you get studios and garages under bridges. |
